Hotel Jolì

The hotel is located very close to the Roma S. Maria Novella train station. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff is very sweet. The breakfast was a nice selection of breads, little meat and cheese sandwiches, cakes, and what I would describe as quiches. The room we had had a tall ceiling which made it feel big inside.

The old fashioned lift (elevator) is cute but very small. We could barely get the two of us, wearing our backpacks, and one suitcase each into the elevator. The room was a bit noisy from the street, but it didn’t bother our sleep.

Citing the classic Rick Steves, the best imaginable base for experiencing the town on a budget: round two corners from the main railwaystation but without expected noise and untidiness, 5-10 minutes walking distance from all Florentine sights, round the corner from CONAD (best source for affordable quality foods and snacks not mentioning 24hours open McDonalds); good for resting after exhausting walking in Florence with quality, noiseless and evidently new Mitsubishi air conditioners, squeaky clean room and bathroom with even bidet; family-style served breakfasts that are handed generously and without those glances when You take two omelets or an extra sandwich, fine aesthetics in room with 4 meters high ceiling; care for details with kettle, mini-fridge, couple teabags and anti-mosquito set included, daily change of sheets & towels; staff friendly but unobtrusive; internet good and nighttime access smooth despite no nighttime desk. Summary: quality of stay in a two-star hotel that no Italian three-star hotel can compete with, in my knowledge. Hotel Joli surprised me and served me well, thus highly recommended.

Checking out time would better be 12:00, not 11:00. Otherwise, no complaints - and I am quite a demanding visitor.

The hotel is very near to the central station, like 6-8 mins walk, and also all the important sights are max 15-20 mins walk, so it is perfect, if you would like to visit the city on foot. It is clear, and really a nice place to stay in Florence. The room is small, but completely enough, since it has all the equipment needed. We had a balcony too, so we appreciated it very much. The owners are really nice people. The breakfast was delicious as well. If we return to Florence, which I really hope we do at some point, we would book this hotel again.

It's a very chic location, quite small overall, but spacious rooms. Clean & great services overall. It was a plus that we had a small fridge in the room. Breakfast was good, and hosts very friendly and welcoming. Very good location, just a short walk away from the center & even shorter one to the train station.

Though very friendly, only one member of the staff spoke english, so we were eagerly looking for her when we had to ask some questions. A small minus was the fact that the bed was a bit short. I'm 1.83m and my feet were hanging off the bed if i was laying straight. A bit odd, but the matresses were actually very comfy.

Convenient location near main train station. We were able to check in early and immediately offered coffee. Our host did not speak much English but we were able to communicate easily and his smile was all we needed to start our day off right! The room was very nice, and spacious. There was plenty for breakfast, and a cute dining area to enjoy the coffee and treats. We were out walking on the day of check out and got back a little late - the host again greeted us with a smile and we gathered up quickly to be on our way. It felt more like staying with family than a hotel!

I cant really think of anything that would have been better. There isnt a 24 hour desk, but we did not expect that.

The room was very comfortable and well appointed and was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My wife is Coeliac and this family run Hotel looked after her so well. The Mother baked her gluten free pie for breakfast which she enjoyed each morning. Kirra the Daughter served us so well each morning. Thank you so much. We would love to stay there again if back in Florence and would highly recommend Hotel Joli.

Very close to everything : city center, river, train station. On arrival they offered us coffee and water and gave us the city map with many indications. Very spacious, clean room and bathroom, big an extremely comfortable bad! Cleaning every day, fresh towels. Very good breakfast , italian and continental, very good homemade sweets ( especially Tiramisu !) Very helpfull staff. We could leave there for free our luggage until the evening because the late flight. Thank you!!!

Loved the staff. The older gentleman and lady were unbelievably nice and accommodating. They did their best to make our stay comfortable. The location was also perfect. Pretty much central to a large portion of the city. So convenient! The breakfast was nice, which came with a stunning view of the hillside and neighborhood.

The room was quite small for the two of us and an infant. The air conditioner also took 2-3 hours to cool the room, which after a day or roaming in the hot sun, was not fun. We set the AC to the lowest temp and left for dinner to give it time to cool.

Hotel Joli was magnificent. Unfortunately we missed our first night due to the French air traffic control strikes but we had breakfast there when we arrived and our other 2 nights were wonderful. Breakfast is fantastic. The owners/staff are all so nice and friendly. The room was spotless and nicely decorated. The location is really great - a very short walk from the train station and just 10/15 minute walk to all the main sights. We loved it!

The breakfast was very nice – soy cappuccinos, gluten-free cake per our request, a tasty fruit salad, croissants and more; the dining area was very pretty including two tables on the balcony. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the common areas were tastefully decorated.

The AC was weak, perhaps because the ductless unit is so highly mounted. There was hardly anywhere in the bathroom to put our things, though this seems to be common in Italian accommodations of this quality. Our room was directly in front of the elevator, which felt like the worst spot; next time I would book further in advance to request better room location.
