Hotel Desirèe

A great hotel in a large building with other hotels in the same building and only a stone's throw from the train station, literally across the road! It has a great traditional old lift to get to the 2nd floor. We booked a quadruple room for our family of two adults and two teenagers and it was a great size with a large bathroom, desk, wardrobe and fridge/coffee maker. We had the breakfast with our booking and it was good with a lovely view of old world Florence! We had traditional ham/cheese with boiled eggs and there were pastries and toast. Plenty of juice and coffee and some fresh fruit. The hotel was clean and our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. The aircon was brilliant.

There was nothing I didn't like, the place was great. If I had to pick something I would add maybe more fruit at breakfast and make the tables bigger for a family of four - two tables could be put together to give four adults more room to eat.

The staff where the friendliest we encountered in Florence meeting the receptionist day who was the owner was a highlight.

The building is very old and beautiful. The service/staff is very very good. The breakfast is adequate. One night we heard a strange noise from the bathroom, like the toilet, would pop up but it didn't matter because no water (or anything else didn't show up :) On the first night we didn't have a proper blanket in the other bed (maybe because we wanted separated beds) but as soon as I went to the reception, a very polite young man brought us one.

Because the building is very old there were not enough electric outlets for charging the phones (the only one which was working). We didn't know how to open the windows so you cannot see outside, because there are wooden blinds outside. But that is maybe our ignorance.

The location is perfect, it’s pretty easy to access to the main attractions in Florence. The breakfast was so good and very Italian with lot of croissants and sweet cakes. The room to have breakfast is so nice and warm.

The host during the day was so kind and helpful, however, the host during the night was so rude, it was difficult to ask him something cause his answers were as he was upset all the time. We asked him if it was possible to charge our cellphone in the reception desk the last day of our stay before going to the train station and he told us in a very bad attitude “no”, so it was quite uncomfortable for us!

The staff was simply great. Very polite, very helpful, truly friendly. The place is very handy located, namely on (quite short) walking distance both from the railway station and the main monuments of the city. Actually we only walked during our sightseeing tours. They've also got a decent breakfast service. The room itself was large and clean. A nice experience and a good starting point for exploring Firenze.

It is about the time to renovate the room(s) - ours looked like a (very) old lady still being aware of her past beauty, still wanting to impress but well, not fully able to hide the years passed by :))). The shower not very stable (but they dit their best to fix it!).

The room was clean and the hotel was near the center of the City. Everything was perfekt !

Although the room was small, it was cozy and was cleaned daily by the servicer. The location of the hotel is very good located in the historical center of Florence and next to it there are tram stops on the T1 and T2 lines, a station, shops and a central market.

I was disappointed with breakfast. Even if there is no opportunity to cook and serve warm, there are several variations to offer, not only bread and croissants every morning. How about fresh vegetables and fruits? Free wi-fi also disappeared every few minutes, it was quite difficult to work.

The hotel was in a great location close to the train station and everything else. We could walk to everything very easy. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good too. Our beds were comfortable and we had a great visit

The breakfast could use something to go with the big tomatoes offered, like mozzarella and basil
