Hotel Firenze Number Nine

The hotel is perfectly positioned, within a few minutes walk of the Duomo. The team at the hotel couldn’t do enough for us. We had an unusual request before we arrived and they went out of their way to ensure we were fully looked after. It was also our honeymoon and they gave us an incredible room upgrade, which was very generous of them. Special mention for the receptionist Luisa, who had helped with our pre-arrival request, and decided to wait after her shift was due to end, just to meet us on our arrival. What a lovely personal touch. Cannot fault this place

Great staff and location. A little pricey on extras coffee bar compared to other hotels I stayed at in the area. The room is nice but the size is small even for superior or deluxe ( I forget which it was called). I didn’t use the spa which might change my rating a little. The space is tight no real place to put toiletries and oddly a shortage of outlets to charge phone etc. Staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. - warm greeting on arrival.

Room size. Looks bigger in pictures but little furniture and few outlets small portable type table in big bathroom instead of a real vanity. Again lack of outlets for charging was annoying - laid my phone on the floor to charge because it was that or unplug the lamp.

Room was adorable, large! Upstairs was just too hot. Had portable air and a fan but that did not cut it

location was fantastic. the fitness center was one of the best I’ve ever used in a hotel. staff is multilingual and extremely attentive.

driving to the hotel (driving in the old city of Florence is a nightmare) and finding a parking garage for this hotel.

The staff was very friendly, very customer oriented. The spa was temporarily closed for repair, and they offered me a complimentary massage which I highly appreciated. The location is great, just 5'walk to Duomo, everything is reachable by foot. The room was cozy, spacious (the bathroom with jacuzzi), and very quiet despite being located in the busy area. Great a-la carte breakfast.

Spa was closed when we stayed so I could not try it, but as already mentioned, the hotel staff compensated it by the complimentary massage.

What a gem! The hotel is fantastic, the location couldn't be better, you are a 2 minutes walk from the Duomo and the main square where you can shop or have a coffee whilst listening to buskers. The spa was being refurbished during my stay but I was told well in advance about that so no surprise. Federico was an absolute superstar, nothing was an issuer for him, he booked all my restaurants and attractions whilst giving me some nuggets of local information about Florence! I highly recommend anyone going to Florence to look no further!

Unless you are staying in the Duomo itself -not a possibility unfortunately- it cannot get any more central than this hotel. Moreover, the place itself is stunning; nice décor, massive room (it was a Nine Studio but still it was bigger than expected) and, what is even more impressive, really silent, even with the hundreds of people walking around the nearby streets every single day. The staff would deserve a separate review as they were all incredibly friendly and nice.

Breakfast, while quite good overall, had many extra options that had to be paid for separately. Considering the going rates, we believe they could include more things without paying an extra. Also, a minor issue with the bathroom: the shower panel had a leak and water would end up near the toilet.

Location could not be better. Right in the heart of Florence. Within walking distance of pretty much everything. Room was fantastic. Really spacious and classy. We had a 17th century original alfresco painting on our ceiling which was amazing! When we arrived the concierge was very professional and polite. He took out a map and he had a great understanding of the city. He recommended three restaurants (all of which were all superb). That worked out really well because it can be hard at times to know the good spots! Spa area is lovely. Nice bath and sauna and definitely worth a visit. Nice cocktail bar - both bartenders also very friendly.

Water was not topped up and available in our rooms after room service which was a little odd. Not a big issue anyway as the rooms were always serviced really well. On our last night we were locked out of the hotel for five minutes - (was only 11:30pm), before the concierge serving that night noticed and let us in. It would have been fine if he had apologised but he did not which was a little disappointing and surprising.
