Hotel Romagna

The Romagna is very well situated in a nice area close to all of the main attractions. All members of the staff were lovely. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate, and we enjoyed it. We were given a free upgrade from a budget to a standard room, thanks very much. The whole place was immaculately clean. Nice bed linen and towels. Good hot shower with good pressure. Shower gels/shampoo provided. For value for money, we could not beat it.

Our toilet cistern in room 18 had a life of its own, but once we mastered it, no real issues. The bed mattress was firm but comfortable, the only thing wrong with the bed was the thin very hard pillows. They could do with replacing really. If you are a larger person, the toilet, certainly in room 18, is not for you. It’s tight, I’m 5’10”, and my knees were touching the wall while seated. Not too much information I hope. If you can’t go upstairs, oh dear. Still, having said that, it’s an old building, and there’s not much to be done about that. At the end of the day this is a two star hotel. If it’s bells and whistles you’re after, put your hand in your pocket and go large. All the best with that. Florence hotels are not cheap.

Simple hotel with a perfect location to explore the city. The value for the money is really good since the location is worth it and includes breakfast on top, which is simple, but it has both savory and sweet options including coffee.

It is a bit outdated and stairs could be tough for elderly people if staying in a top floor.

The staff is very kind and helpful. It's placed in the city center and just 5 min away from the airport tram. Do not spend a huge amount of money on Uber or taxi, it's not worth it. It's in walking distance of every attraction. Bathroom towels frequently changed even without asking. Room AC works great (and you'll need it). Anti bug device and recharges available (you'll need it too).

The breakfast has less offer than we are used to with continental breakfast (for example, only red orange juice or orage with lemon - both machine made - and no other juices) but it has enough offer of the rest. Bathroom can be a bit small and clumsy, specially the toilet usage.

great location for budget-conscious tourist. easy walking distance from everything i wanted to see and needed to use: Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Accademia, trains/trams/busses, currency exchange, shops, cafes, restaurants, markets. also, the room's windows deserve special mention: two double-paned, thick glass windows, one in front of the other for maximum soundproofing. despite being 20 feet/6 meters above very busy, noisy streets and sidewalks, the room was relatively quiet with the windows closed. closed windows and quiet air conditioning made for a good night's sleep.

a washcloth and bigger bar of soap would have been appreciated. that's all i can come up with.

The staff was super nice. When we arrived, we received a map explanation of the city worth of a 5* hotel. They also gave us a great room, which had 2 separate rooms with a bathroom in between. It was perfect for us, since I was travelling with my mom and my brother. The ladies at breakfast were very friendly and always repositioning food at our request.

There was no elevator, so we had to climb a lot of stairs when returning to the room. We were in the 3rd floor, with my mom who is 62. So it was a bit tiring after a long day of walking. I understand that it's an older building, so there's not to do about it, but I wouldn't recommend it for people with low mobility.

My partner's arthritis flared up on our trip and they were incredibly accommodating in moving us to a lower floor to help her out. The staff was absolutely fantastic and always helped with a great attitude. No one is going to confuse it with a 5 star hotel but it was 100% worth the price we paid. The location for walking around central Florence could not be better either. Would absolutely recommend it to everyone travelling on a budget.

The elevator was out but the staff was as accommodating as possible in light of that. Wouldn't take much to upgrade the breakfast.

The room was a bit small but comfortable, and the bathroom was quite small but clean and with hot water. There was also good internet service, and the breakfast included in the room we took was very good and quite complete, buffet-style. The location was excellent, just a few steps from the center where the Duomo and many other tourist places are located, and also very close to Ponte Vecchio. The staff's attention was very good. Thank you.

The hotel could benefit from better overall maintenance and modernization without losing its antique style. Additionally, there is no elevator and no safe-deposit box in the room. The TV is very small and was broken, and the bed could be more comfortable. The towels are not changed daily. These are areas where improvement could be made.

Perfect location, 5 minutes walk from train station, and 5-10 minutes walk from city center with everything important to visit. Staff very friendly and helpful with information, they carried out luggage upstairs because the hotel does not have an elevator. Cleaning everyday, breakfast very good for italian style. Priece/service rate very good in an expensive city like Florence, I can recommend for someone not interested in luxury, but in a very accessible location.

Small bathroom, the toilet flush had to be pushed really hard. No elevator, for young people is not a problem, but for older ones yes.

Nice and helpful staff. Excellent location. Breakfast with cheese and salami besides the usual sweets typical Italian. Good wi-fi signal.

High stairs, difficult to climb. Staff helped us with the luggage but we had to climb to reach the room at 4th floor. Bathroom very very small, you had to wash yourself across the width of the bathroom which was about 70 cm. If you think you can deal with this 2 issues then you'll find this hotel a good choice.

Adequate continental breakfast. Location was excellent, within easy reach of all local landmarks, great place for sightseeing. Staff were excellent. Guys on reception were very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable and gave us great tips on where to go, where to eat and how to get there. Couldn’t fault them.

Tea making facilities would be nice
