NH Collection Palazzo Gaddi

Amazing location. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Well appointed guest rooms. Modern and clean bathrooms. The rooftop bar is amazing with stunning views. The atmosphere and ambiance in the entire hotel is very comfortable. Felt more like a friends' house. The main bar and breakfast area was always lively.

The breakfast left a bad taste. While compared to breakfast in other European hotels it was above average (but well short of places like Suvretta House or Badrutt's Palace in St Moritz or Ciragan Palace in Istanbul), compared to hotels in Middle East or Asia, it was a far cry. Given the price point and everything else being so amazing in the hotel, the breakfast experience should be improved. More variety and quantity of food (everything kept running out) and an unrushed experience is what is called for.

It was our first stay intros hotel. I have stayed in NH hotels in Vienna, Madrid and Berlin but Firenze one appeared to the the best. The combination of the historical building with some recent modern renovation is something we really enjoyed. Staff is very helpful and friendly, location is excellent, breakfast is very good and rooms have all you need. Internet works well and if you need a smoke the terrace on the 6th floor is open for unlimited beautiful view. When back to Firenze I will book same hotel without any reservation. In addition, the hotel runs a beautiful bar on the ground floor and if you need a drink or 2, you can find it there.

The welcome upon arrival and the booking in arrangements were excellent and we were looked after very well by Samuele, who also helped us later in our stay by booking dinner in a nearby restaurant. We were upgraded to a Junior suite. Being on two floors, with the sleeping area upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, this is not perhaps the best arrangment for those who need to make nocturnal journeys to the loo! However, the room was quiet and comfortable. The roof terrace bar was excellent and we went every night for a glass of wine (or two) before bed and to soak up the wonderful view of the Doumo and the city nightscape.

The arrangements at breakfast were not as good as expected. The staff often had to be prompted to replenish some items and overall the number of options was fairly limited.

The lady manager at reception was extremely attentive. She ensured we received a welcome drink and knew that it was my birthday. We were offered a spacious and very comfortable room on the 5th floor. There was a birthday doormat to greet us at the bedroom door and a birthday gift. The lobby areas on the 1st floor have interesting artwork. The roof top bar is a great way to see Florence by day or night. I was only disappointed that our visit was so short.

The stay felt a little bit pricey. However, when I tried to book a week later for a return trip, the room rates were more than double and I received no feedback from the hotel regarding a potential reservation. I therefore did not stay for a second time which was a disappointment. The roof top bar closes promptly at 11pm which seems early when the nights are so beautifully warm.

The staff of the hotel are extraordinary. They all need a pay rise! Each and every staff member we encountered on our 4 night stay was courteous, friendly, helpful and kind. The breakfast was good, the omelettes were excellent, a good general range of different fresh foods. The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance to the train station and all the famous sites. The rooms were clean and the higher rooms have amazing views. The beds are comfortable. The common areas of the hotel, reception, lounge, dining, ballrooms etc. are lovely and very calming with beautiful decor.

The rooms don't have any of the character of the common areas of the hotel. The first room we stayed in had a bath with the shower over top - it was a bit slippery to step into the bath for a shower.

Very professional friendly staff who were helpful, knowledgeable about Florence, and made us feel very welcome. The room was fabulous. The breakfast was superb, and the location in the old town was perfect. The rooftop bar made it very special as the view was spectacular. It was hard to say goodbye.

The rooftop bar was only open from 5 pm. It would have been nice if it had been open earlier and that they had provided shaded areas on the roof as it would have been wonderful to sit there soaking up the city views and reading a good book without sunburn!

I had a great stay there, especially because they upgraded me from the room I had originally reserved to a bigger room on the top floor (under their rooftop bar) with a terrace and a great view to the Duomo since I had originally asked for few special things regarding my room. So I cannot say anything about their standard or other room because I didn't stay there so they could be much different. The people at the reception who originally welcomed me were wonderful and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. The breakfast was very good especially the "grana formaggio" they were serving everyday in their open area. The hotel was very quiet so I believe they have a great soundproofing.

The only thing that was a small minus for me was that since my room was under the rooftop bar from 5:30 or 6 pm that they would start preparing things up there until sometime past 12 AM that they would finish cleaning it was kind of noisy but since I was not at the hotel much it really didn't bother me a lot. If they would extend the breakfast time on weekdays to 11 AM just like on Sundays, it would be wonderful.

The hotel was aesthetically pleasing, from the entrance to the lobby to the room. The fixtures and furnishings were of high quality. The bathroom was modern. It had a fridge, tv, closet, desk, and a very good air conditioning unit. We also had a pleasant courtyard view overlooking Florentine roof tiles, and the bells of the Duomo could be heard. Noise was not an issue either. The rooftop bar had a spectacular view of the Florentine skyline.

The property was great. However when we first arrived at check in time, we were made to wait over an hour for our room to be ready. They then offered complementary drinks from the bar.

The lobby area is really nice, blending modern comfort of a luxury hotel with the historic architecture of an old palazzo. Everything was in good shape, clean and nicely designed. View from our room was directly over to the cathedral, absolutely stunning. Staff was friendly and polite.

Check-in time is 15:00 but we arrived a few mins early, and there was no way to get the room key, we even had to wait a few mins after 15:'00. Checkout is 12;00 but room key cards stopped working already before noon and it was not possible to get them working again, so finally a staff member had to come along to open the room door. And the room rate was rather in the range of a top-level 5 Star hotel than of this 4 Star one (but it was Easter Holidays).

The location was excellent, we walked to the hotel from the train station and really everything was walking distance from the hotel and it was very safe. The rooftop bar/restaurant had a beautiful view, we only had cocktails, which were expensive but worth it for the view. The breakfast was very good with lot's of options and the staff was very friendly.

Room was small, hard to unpack. Internet did not work for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel, we also had issues with the coffee maker in the room not working.
