Excellent location and excellent service, the owner was so kind! It's a beautiful old building (which was a plus to us but obviously be aware that that means less amenities than some other places!). It was also very clean and again, the staff were very friendly!

Not a dislike exactly, but though the place does have a lift, anyone with accessibility issues should be aware that it is a single person lift that would not fit a wheelchair and requires you to climb a few stairs. Also our room did not have aircon - again! Not a flaw exactly but if you're coming in the summer be prepared (there is a fan provided though!).

We loved the huge room with views of the Piazza di San Giovanni.. You can literally exit the building in the middle of Florence - don't think we've ever stayed somewhere so central! Beds were comfortable, small table and chairs and enough storage cupboards etc for all our stuff. The shower room was modern and recently renovated ... the shower was great ! Sound insulation was good.. couldn't hear anything from the neighbours.. just a tiny amount from outside.. there was double glazing. Alexandro was great, offering advice whenever needed about where and when to visit local sights. We'd definitely stay here again if we return to Florence!

Just nitpicking really.. new curtains and voilles for the windows would be nice. Finesse the bathroom door fit a bit as it's a bit noisy to open/close during the night. (I could say update the decor but then you'd be paying 200 a night instead of 100!)

Incredible location! You really cannot find any better. The view of the duomo from the bedroom window was amazing! The staff were also friendly and every time I walked into the bedroom, it smelt fresh and clean. Many reviews have mentioned about the wifi situation. However, the wifi was strong enough in my room (next to the lobby). It was also very safe as you can only get in via pin codes and a key to your room. We also had hand towels/ bath towels provided for us in the room, along with some shower gel and hand soap.

It was a very clean property, but the communal shower could be a little cleaner.

It was only a 8min walk from the train station where we arrived which was extremely convenient. We thought we had been cheated at first judging from the entrance and court yard downstairs. However four flights up the stairs and Umberto greeted us at the door with smiles and hospitality. He spoke little English but his smile and warmth was enough to change our minds about the place. It was a gothic interior of old times. We had a huge room with ensuite bathroom. The furniture and bed were quite old but comfortable. We got a view of the Duomo from our room window which was quite breathtaking especially at night. All the museums were a 5 to 15 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is a min walk from the square where there are many cafes, restaurants and boutiques. One could never get lost and walk home after a great meal in one of the close by restaurants. Although we got the noise from the busy streets, we were never in the room in the day time and it subsided by evening time. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The shower had very good pressure and no issue for hot water. Umberto was a very kind and helpful host. He was always smiling and very hospitable.

The wifi was only strong and available most of the time close to the reception area. So we had to stand at the reception area to send important messages. The towels were thick sheets of white cloth and not of towel texture. However they were clean and were replaced everyday.

The location is excellent, right next to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, we can see it from our windows. The room is super big with a very old decoration, you can feel the history of the building. The reception is very nice and friendly. The room cleaning service is very good. There's a small lift in the building, save energy to carry the suitcases up. Feel safe with 2 digital codes to enter the hotel.

We can't reach the wifi from our room at all. The bed is not very comfy, it's 2 single bed putting together which makes a gap in the middle. The hot water of the shower runs out after one shower, needs to wait an hour for the hot water coming back which is not very convenient. The floor is a bit noisy.

It's an old building, with high ceiling and the walls are around 50cm thick. (We were told, this is also a reason, why Wi-FI signal wouldn't reach the room, but we didn't try as we didn't need it). We had a corner room, which was very light and spacious, and I believe provided us the best view of the hotel. To be honest, you can't really see the dome (just little piece when you really try), but you still get the view over the marble churches and life on the Piazza di San Giovanni.

We had a private bathroom, but it wasn't connected to the room. We needed to cross the hallway and every time open and close it with a key. It was quite inconvenient, but I believe it is just consequence of reusing of the old floor plans. The double bed was two single beds put together, so you cannot really lay in the middle. Also Piazza di San Giovanni keeps living in the night, and even it was very warm all around the day I couldn't sleep with the windows open (of course, not hotel's fault, but just be prepared).

best stay in Italy! Sabrina was so hospitable and the facilities were great! little apartment was a great size, and the kitchen had everything we needed! fresh cakes daily - more than we could eat!! and the fridge topped up every time we finished something! (more than the normal ‘basics’ are provided) would recommend this stay to anyone and everyone! just a 10 min drive into Sienna, and a great base to explore the rest of Tuscany!

The Hotel was simply perfect! I've never stayed in a hotel with such an amazing location. You could literaly see the duomo from our window (so like a 0,5 minute walk to the city center, which was more than perfect). The room was also nice and had quite an "Italian charme" (including a ceiling painting) - it did have a shared bathroom as mentioned, but there were more than enough and each was a separate, clean room which allowed enough privacy. There was also a fan and a water cooker, which were quite useful. The host was also really friendly!

all in all was it an nice but simple accommodation - but totally according to the low price, which is much more than worth the view and location. ONLY negativ point for me was the wifi not reaching (at least our) room, which was quite annoying - the lobby however (directly in front of the room) did have good wifi, with the door open It would have probably reached the room and maybe its working in other rooms.

The hotel is located right in the city center, which is very practical. They also allowed me to do a late check-in, as I arrived at midnight. The rooms are quite large.

There is no WI-FI in the rooms. One of the two receptionists wasn't too nice.

The location was on point! The room was also very charming with the old paintings peaking from the ceiling. Although everything was pretty old, everything was clean. Calm and historical atmosphere.

Some noise did get inside from the busy street, but that’s almost always the case with old buildings and central location. Bathrooms are old, but work well and all in all, it’s good value considering the price.
