Floris Hotel

Location is great! Especially for those exploring the city on foot. The metro is right around the corner as well. While travelling, it’s so much easier to enjoy something to eat before leaving the hotel. One less thing to have to think about. The Floris provided a lovely choice of foods to start the day! The room has everything you need. Nice storage, desk, clean bathroom!

We weren’t expecting the hotel location to be on the 4th floor of the building. (That’s new to us). It was a bit tricky to locate it due to poor signage (small and black on a window) we also didn’t expect to find the building under renovation. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with a foyer under construction and seeing old mattresses still sitting by the elevator shaft. Not exactly the ‘hotel welcome’ I’m used to! It’s so wonderful to have a nice hot shower when you’d like one. The water was extremely hot and the issue being, in our room, 427, it was very tricky to adjust it so it was comfortable.

It's in the centar of Rome, near the bus stop form airport, shop's supermarket, bus stop, and all the necessary things are in circle off 200m All the things you need to see is 10 min by walk, fountains, Spanish steps, ... And the starting bus stop for hop on- hop off is 5 min by walk.

Tha singe of the hotel, it's on the door, but when the door were open, you can't see it.

The breakfast is ok, but it could have something whole grain bread, too. Now only the very white. But I saw there are darker 'buns' available in Rome :) if wanted to buy, and offer to customers. I understand, that most of the visitors want the white, but I suppose the darker ones should not be bought so many, that it would be waste. The location is very good.

Our time in Floris Hotel was really OK, if we could wish something more, one of the three receptionists could concentrate more on customers going by. He just stared the display, even when answering our greeting. No smile, even when one morning making the coffee for us. The other two men were OK. The dark bathroom floor should be cleaned more often - now when I dried some water drops with white paper, the paper became dark grey. The shower corner looked ok.

The hotel is very nice. Our room was a good size and never felt cramped or uncomfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful and we appreciated their advice on places to go and help with a lost room key. The breakfast buffet was good with enough choices but this is Italy so sweets "dolce" dominate the available choices.

At first, the entrance to the hotel feels a bit shady and we were not sure we were in the correct building as the only sign for Hotel Floris is on one of the doors that is always propped open and not visible from the street. Also, there is more signage for another hotel that doesn't exist anymore making it a bit more confusing. But rest assured, walk inside, take the lift to the fourth floor and the atmosphere is immediately better. There was also some street noise from Via Nazionale and the bars and restaurants below but things become quieter after 11pm.

We stayed at this hotel on the first night arriving in Italy and also our last night. There is a BIG difference in the quality of the two rooms. This particular room was very up to date. BEAUTIFUL! I wished we had gotten this room on our first night! Great location, easy walk from train station! We tried gelato at least 15 times in our 2 week Europe trip, and the Gelato directly across the street from the hotel is the WINNER for the BEST gelato!!! I recommend the amaretto cherries one with the brittle. WOW!!

The only negative thing is the downstairs entrance. I recognize it’s out of their control, but the trashy entrance off the street makes you worry about what you are stepping into!

From reading reviews, I was at two mind about booking the hotel - the reviews feel strongly about the accessibility and looks of the hotel. Don't "listen" to them. The outside of the hotel is ugly, yes, but who is staying at the entrance?? The hotel is lovely! It is bright, clean, comfortable, the room is spacious, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff are all such a delight! I would 100% stay there again, and highly recommend it.

Not an issue for me, as I only had a backpack, but might be an issue for people transporting big luggage. The elevator is truly tiny.

Front desk service was excellent location is great. Rooms are nice and clean although small but that really doesn’t matter as you don’t spend time in them. Air conditioning in rooms is great as the city was stifling hot. Elevator to get to fourth floor is much appreciated too after a long day and/ or heavy suitcases

When you first walk in you may think you are going into a dump. Unfortunately the rest of the building is undergoing renovation which could take a really long time. But the floor the hotel is on is beautiful so one should not be scared when you walk in ground floor

The location of the hotel is excellent. You have downstairs the bus stop, 3 minutes walking distance metro station, and 5 minutes from Termini station. Trevi fountain is at 12 minutes walk from the hotel, and every other sights are really accessible on foot (at walking distance). The room was clean, the shower was really good, only downside maybe the fact that the withe paint on the walls is stained by trolley marks, I guess...but that's it. Other than that, everything is really good.

Maybe the fact that you are on the main street side and on our side there was a pub downstairs that had some loud music and people singing the first night we stayed.

The location is very convenient. All of the sights are within a 10-15min walk (except the Vatican, but the no. 40 bus stops right outside the hotel, and goes straight to the Vatican). The hotel is as advertised, perhaps even a notch above its star rating. Haven’t had the breakfast, so no thoughts on that. The staff members are willing to take up any requests, and are very professional. Again, seems like a more upscale place in terms of service. Especially Johnny. Cleanliness is top notch, no dust or anything of the kind. Would recommend.

The entrance is a bit shaky, and not really well lit. Not the hotel’s fault, as it would be the responsibility of the building owner.

Staff were lovely, room was great. Good facilities nice to have coffee facilities & a mini fridge. Breakfast choice was great. Fab location; short walk from station & not too far from some amazing sites. We walked most of the time.

Sadly we were woken early circa 7.00 am on all 3 mornings by the builders working on the hotel refurbishment on the floor below. Hopefully this will soon end for future travellers.
