Hotel dei Mellini

Location was close to everything -walking distance to major landmarks but not in the city center -which was exactly what we were looking for. The staff was friendly and warm. Our one bedroom suite was spacious and the extra half bath was an added bonus! We didn’t have a balcony, but we were never in our room anyway since we spent most of our time exploring the city. The rooftop was a great place to relax when we were not out. Even though the website says ‘contemporary’ the hotel decor is not contemporary. It’s exactly what the pictures show- a traditional English decor in warm deep colors. Overall a great hotel and great experience in Rome.

The hotel was fantastic. Spacious room, great bed, nice bathroom with good shower. The hotel has a nice fresh atmosphere and just feels very good. Also the breakfast was very nice. We loved the rooftop terrace where we enjoyed a morning coffee, an afternoon drink or just chilled after a long day in Rome. What we loved was that there is no bartender pushing you for a drink, actually you have to call with the internal phone to order drinks and food. Which we loved!! The location was good, only 15 minutes walking to the Vatican and also all other highlights are within walking distance if you have a standard fysical condition. We hardly used the subway and spent 3 nights in the hotel. If you don't want to walk, there are enough restaurants in the direct neighbourhood of the hotel.

I loved it all. Have nothing to complain

Loved the room, staff very friendly and helpful. They gave us a map and pointed out all of the key locations - and gave us excellent recommendations when we asked. We didn't use the facilities much as we were out exploring so much but it was a good base. Bar prices very reasonable

Not a great view - but we were in the middle of a big city and didn't pay for a view - but that would be the only down side :)

We were so lucky to find this gem of a hotel at the last minute. The staff were all very helpful in getting us settled and orienting us to Rome. The hotel is elegant but still so comfortable for children. They even had a play room for children! We enjoyed dinner on the lovely terrace and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Our only regret is that we were only there for one night!

The location is a bit of a walk if you are touring the old city on foot, however the woman at the front desk provided excellent directions and we liked being by the river.

My wife was here for 4 nights with our daughter and her mother. She told me the hotel was perfect and that we would definitely have to go back. From an amazing breakfast to a great location next to the river and great and helpfull staff. All details were great, the best one? That set-up a baby bed for our 2,5 year old and they put a little stuffed animal (bear) in there. This is something I have never seen before! :)

Excellent hotel in everyway. Large spacious rooms very friendly staff and a lovely roof terrace to enjoy a drink or snack. It was sunny winter days for us and the terrace was a great place to enjoy. Location is excellent just 10 minutes walk from all the major sights but not in the busy tourist area.

Good sized well maintained rooms and the location is good for walking into the centre. Special mention to Jasmine who runs the bar - friendly, happy and efficient. She helped make our stay a pleasure.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic at times. A small space so needs someone at the door controlling entry/seating - several times we had groups of people standing around our table or in front of the buffet waiting to be seated

Staff are always cheerful and attentive like nothing is too much trouble

This is my fourth stay at the hotel and over the years the decor has started to show its age in the rooms and they could do with a makeover

The staff were all extremely helpful.

Cooked breakfast was not fantastic, but the other breakfast choice was good.

A very nice, clean hotel with helpful staff. The hotel is located in a quiet area, walking distance from the main tourist sites.

WiFi was only working in some areas of the room (suite), and not in others.
