Hotel Genova

Location was good, nearby Termini, the main railway station. Staff were friendly.

The breakfast was a Big disappointment. Due to covid-19 (?), a pre-order was made and the staff collected it. The form wasn’t clean, we got the items for one Person only. Had to ask for more. Cold, dry toast, poor cheese, nothing fresh… no vegetables, no fruit. A bad start for the day. Unfortunately.

It was a perfect location for our needs as it was close to Termini. The room was large and very clean, we ended up on the 6th floor and our room had a beautiful terrace with a pretty view. The staff were all very friendly and check-in and check-out were both very smooth. The toiletries were very nice and they had everything we could have possibly needed during our stay.

As much as I hate to give any negatives I think it is important to note. The water temperature was really strange in that it fluctuated pretty frequently and with a drastic change in temp, we had to be careful because it was very hot and could definitely burn you. We were able to work around it but for families with little kids I would have been nervous to let them use it. Also, this is likely a difference in norms, but the A/C never got the room very cool and we weren't there during the heat wave. So many nice things about the hotel, again it was something we were able to work around but worth noting to give an accurate description.

The staff were exceptional, very helpful and friendly. The parking was very good and the staff very helpful. It was very quiet despite it being a very busy area with traffic and restaurants. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable. Great breakfast with a wide selection.

The room was cold and the temperature dial did not seem to work. It was 32 C outside so maybe most like it really cold. The room was dark due to one window with heavy frosted glass and complete shutters. Likely because of view but this did not matter as it was only for sleeping. The pictures of roof top seem to be just for special rooms and not for all guests.

Two minutes walk from Termini, 20 minutes walk from EVERYTHING else. 2 minutes to the metro that goes directly to the Vatican. Room was large by Rome standards and good value. Breakfast was ok abs a decent selection at the buffet. Staff always said hello and good morning, good evening etc. Surrounded by restaurants and most of them filled with islands, not tourists... unless they were Italian tourists !

Tiny niggles... Sink in the bathroom was cracked Noisy road that even with double shutters and curtains was still noisy. Room was at the front of the hotel. Coffee machine at breakfast was not up to Italian standards... ... but these are tiny tiny things

We had booked a twin bedded room and on arrival was given a free upgrade to a junior suite which was lovely. Rooms comfortable and very quiet. Tea and coffee facilities, although us English would like some milk as well. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and had a good range of food. Location was the best. 4 minute walk from Termini station and other facilities. Overall was fab and would definitely book again.

Shower was hit and miss. Went boiling hot then cold so had to keep hopping in and out. Shower screen could do with better cleaning. Apart from this bathroom was immaculate.

Great location, very close to Termini Train Station. Most attractions within walking distance. Great view from our terrace and bonus of hot tub too!

We stayed in the Cavour Suite, outdoor terrace could have been cleaner.. Plastic cup full of cigarette butts from previous guest left. American Bar not always open, was told at 1630 it would be open in 10 mins, then told it wouldn’t open at all that day. Staff are very friendly, although we were given no info at check in as to where and what time for breakfast or what time check out was (no info in room either) all they wanted was the payment for our stay as soon as we walked through the door!

Hotel is located very close to the train station, which was perfect since we had an early flight the morning we checked out. Can't say enough good things about the front desk staff. The man that checked us in was so friendly. We got to the hotel early before check in, so they allowed us to store our bags and use the bathrooms to change before giving us recommendations on restaurants to try out nearby. When we did check in, it was easy with no hassle. They helped us bring our luggage to the room. Room was a little small but was clean with a nice private bathroom.

Only downside was the Wi-Fi did not work very well in the room.

we could not be happier with the staff. Edna's infectious positivity is enough to comfort any weary traveler - she helped us acclimate and orientate upon arrival, and saw to our needs. Anthony should have a cape and be called Super Anthony - he jumped in and rescued our trip when another hotel cancelled. These guys deserve a raise. We also liked our breakfasts quite a bit - the fruit was always fresh and high quality, and the waiter was generous enough to make us strong coffee in the morning. Top marks. the evening staff recommended good restaurants.

the wifi in our room was maddeningly slow. that was the only source of stress.

Pancake machine in the breakfast hall was my sons absolute favourite feature of Genova along with the shower and roof hot tub. Beds were comfy. The room was great. General decor and appearance of the actual hotel was below my expectations and would benefit from a refurb. Some staff were excellent, (Antony pogolli?) especially. others not so friendly. Cleaners didn’t replenish coffee pods and had left old feedback forms in our room Fantastic location to train station and all major sights. Such a superb city… staff helped w maps and advice which was really helpful also. Metro is excellent. Local restaurants were great. Excellent shower and jacuzzi on the roof.

The suite was great, clean, modern and spacious. The Prosecco was a lovely surprise. The hotel it’s self was dated and a bit shabby. Awful art throughout. Grumpy older woman working in the breakfast room both mornings - rude. Older front counter guys also rude. Our cards didn’t work twice so being locked out in the hot hallway was annoying and also there was loud banging noises throughout the night which disturbed sleep / maybe to do w the nearby elevator? It woke us up several times.
