Hotel Villafranca

Location: after having walked from Termini in the middle of the night with a child and a grandma, Via Villafranca felt like a safe haven and the hotel felt like an oasis. The facade has style. The floors and the room were nice. The personnel were friendly. There is a great reasonably priced and good-humored pizzeria (with pasta etc. too) on the other side of the street.

Breakfast: for this price, it should have been better. The selection was poor compared to a hotel of this price in most other European capitals. The scrambled eggs were not in optimal shape. The salad was sorry, almost stale. There should have been more veggies - we live in the 2020s. There should have been fish (and maybe vegetable-based sausage) in the selection. The juice was not very good.

The staff at Villa Franca were very welcoming. We arrived very early in the morning and they were kind enough to keep our luggage until check-in time. The outside of the building and lobby is very unassuming but the room was spacious and well kept. It was a very comfortable stay with lovely beds. Very good value for money.

The shower was quite small and the water pressure could definitely be better. Hallways are also quite dark and dingy but this does not reflect the room interior at all.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A 4STAR HOTEL LOCATED BETWEEN TWO METRO STATIONS(TERMINI AND CASTRO PRETORIA).THE LOCATION IS VERY GOOD SINCE IT IS ALSO WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO MOST SITES.IT IS A SAFE AREA,THOUGH QUITE DIRTY,WITH QUITE A FEW EATERIES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY AS WELL AS A SUPERMARKET JUST AROUND THE CORNER.THE HOTEL STAFF IS VERY ACCOMMODATING,IT IS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND THERE IS A VARIETY OF OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM DURING BREAKFAST.LUGGAGE STORAGE IS OFFERED SHOULD YOU HAVE A LATE FLIGHT AND THERE IS NO POOL ON THE TERRACE (SOME GUESTS HAVE POSTED PICTURES OF ONE WHICH DID NEVER EXIST).WIFI RECEPTION IS EXCELLENT,THE ROOMS ARE VERY QUIET,THE BEDS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE AIR CONDITIONING IS PERFECT!THERE IS ALSO A SMALL FRIDGE IN THE ROOM.

Clean, nice hotel with friendly personnel and good breakfast. Good air-conditioning in the room. Easy to find, close to metro and bus and train station, but far enough to be in the clean and quite district. Comfortable bed. Everything must have included.

My single room was really small. If I had one more suitcase that would become a problem. Entrance to the shower cabin is to say at least controversial. Do not recommend to overweight solo travellers. Sound proofing was not really working.

Location - 8 mins walking distance from Termini station and 3 mins walk from nearest metro & bus station. Breakfast- Breakfast was included in my booking and it’s good ( won’t say fantastic but good value for money) Cleaning- I found my room very clean and the cleaning service was good.

1) Room walls are thin and sometimes you can hear noise from outside or other rooms so be careful 2) This is not a 4 star hotel as rooms are very basic, old fashioned and need little renovation

Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The room / hotel is clean. The breakfast is your normal continental breakfast and coffee is great! Close to subway station, close to 24/7 supermarket, fabulous restaurant right across the street and 7 minute walk from Termini Station (if you're coming by train from airport, it's a short walk to the hotel).

The room itself didn't feel like 4-star hotel: only one plug for the entire room, the furniture kinda outdated, the shower was super small (I'm big - I had to squeeze in!), there were no slipper/bath robe (stuff you'd expect from a 4-star hotel)

the location is phenomenal! the staff is knowledgeable and the breakfast was very good. the coffee machine serves the coffee Luke warm but they have a bar and will make you a cappuccino.

we could hear the bathrooms (shower or toilet) from either above us or beside us. it wasn’t a deal breaker for me but it was a bit distracting.

I liked the size of the room, the bed comfort, the air conditioning, the staff at the reception and in the breakfast room, the cleanliness, and the breakfast itself (good cappuccino, scambled eggs and cornetti, and great service)

I didn't like the shabbiness of the hotel (really needs a lift), the total lack of electrical sockets anywhere near the bed and the tiny shower.

The rooms are big, clean, and well furnished. The beds are comfy. The surroundings are quiet, and you can find essential stores around. The location is great: Close enough to reach Termini by foot but not that close to feel the continuous activity around the area. If you need to be close to Tiburtina, this option still works because of the subway.

Maybe the breakfast can be improved, but as it is I would not discharge this option of stay, as it is good enough.

breakfast was really bad, very poor selection, coming to Italy you’d expect a tomato or cucumber, pastries were ok, “scrambled” egg tasted like paper if I was to stay there again it would be room only choice having breakfast in one of plenty caffettieras instead
