ASTORIA GOLDEN GATE

The location was great being close to the Termini station and thus very convenient to get to and from the airport as well as other stations and the major tourist attractions. I ended up walking to most of the tourist sights in Rome apart from the ones in The Vatican City. There are also a variety of restaurants nearby. I know Termini has a bit of a reputation but the hotel felt secure as you have to swipe your card to get through the metal gate to enter the courtyard and there is another swipe for the sliding doors to enter the building from the courtyard after hours. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. The AC and wifi were working well and there was also a small bar fridge and closet. I had some difficulty finding the entrance initially due to some construction work happening, the entrance is behind/in front of the fenced off section depending on which direction you are walking.

The rooms were not the most soundproof as I could hear neighbours coming back late at night and muffled talking at times.

The location was excellent. It was right by the train station and very central, so going anywhere was easy. We could even walk to the Trevi Fountain. The room was small but functional and I like that there were steel shutters on the windows that come down at night, so I felt quite safe.

The room was not clean. When we arrived, the floor felt sticky and tacky and it stuck to our socks. They didn't replace our towels. I had left them on the floor to indicate I wanted a change, but they just hung the towels back up so I had to request for a new set. The staff also rushed us out of the room because they wanted to clean the room and gave me quite an attitude about it.

I'm a very fussy person when it comes to cleanliness. This hotel exceeded every expectation that I had. Everything was spotlessly clean on arrival, and they cleaned daily. It has also been recently redecorated so there was that extra level of comfort and cleanliness. The staff was outstanding: friendly and accommodating. The area is lovely and quiet, despite being near a major train station. It's extremely well connected and there's a plethora of shops and restaurants for every budget! I can't wait to be back in the summer and enjoy a cold drink on the patio!

Sometimes loud speaking carries to the room from reception. The walls are also not sound proof.

Exceptionally clean hotel, very good shower and friendly helpful staff. Bathroom spotless and all bathroom fittings were new and clean. Great to have a mini fridge for milk etc. Excellently located for the train station, which was the reason for my overnight stay - to catch a morning train. Feels very secure with the locked gate system.

Single room is a little small and I don't think guests can open the blinds to let a little daylight in (but may just have been that I couldn't see how to operate them). Price could be a bit lower especially for off season like April (wasn't Easter) when I stayed But good hotel overall and I'd stay there again when in Rome if the price is OK..

I was looking for a reasonably-priced and safe-feeling hotel within walking distance of Rome Termini train station. This budget "upscale hostel" type hotel has small but recently-refurbished rooms with their own bathroom/shower. The hotel is too small to offer breakfast but there are several cafes on the same street, as well as a non-touristy restaurant (Regina's) where the locals eat good plain Roman food at lunchtime. I lost my room key card late one night, leaving me locked out of the premises, and the off-site manager was very nice and uncomplaining about driving over to help me get into the secured courtyard and then my own room. Excellent place for a short stay.

If I had been staying for longer, I would have wanted more room to spread out, but the hotel was perfect for my brief overnight stay.

The staff was 5 Stars! allowed us to check in earlier, to leave our bags there while we travelled around the city. even if this is not the nicest area in Rome, it was really convenient due to the proximity to Termini.

unfortunately the area was quite noisy - our room was on the ground floor facing the street. and there was a strange and regular noise quite disturbing. we could not figure out what it was. if it came from the street or from another room or something else. We did not complain as we left in the morning and arrived in the evening after walking around the city. We were so tired that it was just a minor thing in the end.

Hand soap and shampoo/shower gel are available, though the shampoo for ladies with a lot of hair probably will not do a good cleansing. Shower area and shower head also brand new and amazing after a long day Safe available for our valuables Complimentary tea bags and supplies were available every day with the kettle in the room Room (and common areas) were spotless clean every day Staff was very kind and helpful, always smiling Answered any questions we had and kept our luggages after check out until our departure The area is super efficient in terms of transportation. Termini station (metro/bus/train) was just two blocks away so the bus from/to airport was really close and we didn't walk much with luggages, plus every day we grabbed the metro towards the center with some monuments at only two stops away (even walking distance possible like the Colosseum) and the furthest being the Vatican at 6 stops away. Also at a walking distance was the villa Borghese with an amazing gallery and a huge lovely park that is a must to visit. Super/mini markets available close by. Plenty of restaurants also close by, not all same quality Tried Dino's restaurant and was a bust, tried also Forno Della Sofita and kept going back there every night, amazing food.

The area looks sketchy but we didn't actually encounter any safety problems after all. The walls of the hotel are thin so we could hear people talking from the siding rooms and the reception ( not the street though) but after an exhausting day of walking it didn't really matter.

Best experience with the hotel, could not have chosen a better hotel for our trip to Rome! Rooms were EXACTLY as in the photos, and super clean, spotless clean!!! Would definitely book it again when we visit Rome again! The hotel is very close to Termini station, connecting you with both metro lines and numerous buses that go in the city. However, just a short 100 meters away from the hotel, you can find the bus stop Independenza with buses which stop super close to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, and the Colosseum! Overall, a magnificent experience with the hotel! Five stars from us!!

A great location when you need to stay close to the station. New and comfortable hotel, very clean with a very welcoming receptionist. The room has everything you need

I did not like certain items in the bathroom, the toilet paper dispenser is unpleasant to use, shower handle is broken and so are shower doors. I also did not like that there was no natural light and just a very intense ceiling lamp. would have been nice to have a bedside lamp. However, even though this looks like a long list, these are just minor inconveniences and I still highly recommend the place

This property is located right beside the train station which was perfect after our long journey. The area is a 30 minute walk from some of the main tourist sites but we used the lime-Uber scooters to get around which was fun and cut our walk time in half. The bed was so comfortable and the window shades blocked all sound and light. The concierge is not available all night so they give you a key that unlocks the main gate to get in.
