Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East

This is a wonderful hotel in many ways. It is situated in Sendai Station so was perfect for us as we arrived by shinkansen. There are many entrances and exits from different parts of the station so it was easy to locate. Our room was large by Japanese standards, furnishings were new and the bathroom and toilet were amazing. We found that the hotel system of providing fresh towels and other amenities outside your room if you did not require daily servicing was a great idea. There was a room with free coffee and cold drinks next to reception which was very comfortable and had lovely views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

One of my best experiences in Japan. The hotel sites inside The JR Sendai station, it's very convenient when using the shinkansen or the metro.The hotel is close to everything you need - shops, restaurants, convenient stores. The rooms are huge, nicely decorated and very comfortable, The bathtub was really big, probably the biggest I saw in Japan. I was given a room on the floor before the last and I had a gorgeous view of Sendai. The staff is super nice and polite and helps you with everything with a smile. The buffet is one of the best I ever had in Japan and I went to lots of buffets in Japan. Everything's was so delicious and the selection was really huge, especially the mashed potato, tofu and Miyagi vegetables, it was really the best. If you have the choice don't miss the buffet, it was really worth it. Thank you so much, I will definitely return!

Hotel well situated right next to Sendai station. Ideal for day trips. Breakfast was good for cold dishes. Plenty of shops in the vicinity.

We had a few issues with breakfast. Firstly there was a limited amount of fresh fruit available, initially only orange and grapefruit segments on the same plate, which is not acceptable for people with grapefruit allergies. This was later changed to two separate dishes, but no more fruit choices. The "hot" food was kept on hotplates that were not kept hot meaning that the food was only lukewarm. If these problems are rectified then this would make breakfast a much better experience.

The location is superb. It is just beside Sendai Station and it is fully sheltered. The room is right sized for couple and the breakfast while not as widespread nevertheless do showcase Miyagi's regional speciality which is appreciated. The staff is professional and detailed in their explanation. Despite the fact that English is not their main language, the staff nevertheless tried to make conversation as smooth as possible. My Japanese is shaky.

It would be good if there is free early check in and late check out. That said, the stay is quite good and it is definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Sendai.

The location was great. Very convenient to just walk downstairs and jump on either the JR lines or the subway. Entrances are on multiple floors (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Beautiful view of the city.

It's more just a matter of remembering to always look for the East Exit on the station but sometimes I would get lost coming back to the hotel. For the hotel itself, there is not a laundry room. It was still manageable but just something to keep in mind to prepare in advance a bit.

Superb location that is connected to the Sendai train station, surrounded by plenty of shops and F&B options. There is also a lounge on lobby level that is accessible by all hotel guests where there is a range of beverages available.

Nothing really. Our only quibble is that there are not enough wall hooks within the room /bathroom for us to hang our used towels. Thus, they do not dry overnight we have to use fresh bath towels daily which is not our preference as we prefer to conserve resources and not have to change them daily.

Hotel exceeded our expectations. I knew location would be great before we booked and that breakfast was exceptional. The room design and comfort was excellent (we had 3 rooms in our booking and I stayed in Premier King Room). Bathroom was great. The guest lounge on level 4 was also good to visit .

Nothing in particular. Would be good if guest lounge offered tea as well as coffee.

Connected to train station so easy to get there with bags. Make sure you look for the Metro Sendai EAST, as there another one that is not East. Breakfast was good. Worth buying. Shower was quite nice.

Bed was fine but nothing special, comfort- wise. Toilet is in main bath - would be nicer if in separate closet. Bath did not have much counter space. Did not notice a guest laundry. May not have one. Room was small - queen bed with one side against the wall.

Location was perfect and it's one turn from the Shinkansen exit. The room was amazing, I love the bathroom which was quite big in the Japanese standards. I did not avail the breakfast as there are a lot of restaurants around the hotel. The view in my room was spectacular. I requested a higher floor room and gave me probably the best one.

I can't say anything bad about this hotel. Everything is perfect from check-in to check-out.

The location and wide selection of restaurants nearby. Situated right at the train station meant it was easy take trips. Hotel had a guest lounge with a wonderful view of the city.

At the point of booking, it indicated that I was to get the city view but I was given the view of the train tracks, unfortunately. This made looking out of the window a tad boring.
