It was cozy and had a chill family vibe. It was very quiet and clean. Thankfully the other guests were quiet too, but it's small enough that I'd guess the chances of a loud guest are probably pretty rare (especially since they don't allow kids or pets) The kitchen is tiny but nobody else was using the refrigerator so I had plenty of space. I didn't use the provided tea or coffee, but they had plenty of dishes for that. The bed was comfortable, and ceiling fan was appreciated for overnight since there wasn't a window to leave open. Otherwise, the door can be left open to enjoy a breeze. WiFi was a good enough for mild gaming on my laptop. The location is fantastic. My cell phone broke while I was in town so I had to use my limited Spanish instead of apps, and it was easy to just ask taxis to take me to el Museo Frida Kahlo. Walking around the neighborhood feels safe and is fun! The Leon Trotsky House Museum is within walking distance as well as lots of Coyoacan brick+mortar and street shops/food/crafts/etc,, and dancing at night in the park.... there are tacky shops, casual shops, upscale shops, and everything in-between. The hosts were all friendly and so accommodating--chatty when I was occasionally chatty, and great at otherwise leaving me be. Helpful, too: like little things like scrounging around change for my $500 lol. And with my broken cell phone, they were helpful with printing out my Frida Kahlo ticket and my boarding passes. In fact, before I even arrived, they gave me the heads up that the Frida Kahlo museum needs tickets purchased online in advance! Above and beyond! Thank you so much! I'm not sure when I'll be in CDMX again but I'll immediately look for availability here.

Shower pressure was only okay, but thankfully enough to wash the soap out of my med/thick hair so, it's fine

The location was perfect. Villa Alfonsina is located just across from the Freda Kahlo museum and a couple of blocks from a market where you can buy anything you might need. It is a safe neighborhood to walk in and easy access for our Uber drivers. We were greeted, shown around the villa and given information about the area. Other than that we only say the people who cleaned the exterior courtyard area. Otherwise, we had the place to ourselves. We had access to a small kitchen with a coffee maker and coffee provided. The room was comfortable with a small sitting area and a great tv with Netflix, etc. It was perfect for our needs as it was a home base for exploring Mexico City which is amazing!

The bathroom could have been more soundproof or had a fan.

Hector and his mother were such friendly and helpful hosts. They made me feel at home and taken care off. On the day of check out, I could store my bag and I could keep the key to the gate so, it would be easy for me to get my bag when the taxi came. The room itself was clean, and spacious. There was a proper thick blanked provided as well, since it get's cold in the evening. This made sleeping so much easier! The location was also great. Close to the Frida Kahlo museum and in a really nice neighborhood. If I ever go back to Mexico City, I will be sure to stay with Hector again.

Fabulously located apartment in the heart of charming, villagey Coyoacan in Mexico City. Quiet and safe around a central courtyard. Super clean (very rare for an apartment to be so) and comfortable. Lots of surface space to put things in the bathroom rather than on the floor or balanced like in a lot of places(!). Very helpful host and his helpful dad who met us as we arrived later than planned. Recommended.

An honest, clean apartment in a fab location next to Frieda Kahlo museum. What's not to like?

The room is in the quiet inside garden of a beautiful house. Basic accommodation but everything is there. Very approachable English speaking host who gave us a lot of great recommendations in the neighbourhood of Coyacan, and for our future travel locations through Mexico. Good location in Coyoacan, next to the Frida Kahlo House.

We were in the room on the ground floor and could hear it when the upper rooms would flush the toilet or took a shower. Not a problem when we get up early, but after our flight we wanted to sleep a little longer in the morning but were a little disturbed by that.

We loved our stay at Villa Alfonsina, the room is a great size and comfortable, the location in Coyoacan is perfect - easy walking distance to all the local sites. Its around 15 mins to the metro - easy walk, so the city is not very far or expensive to reach either. Coyoacan itself is lovey, Its like a village in the city! Hector and Anaid are lovely, very helpful and gracious hosts... We enjoyed our stay in their lovely home and all the tips for restaurants and markets shopping were great.

I would have preferred a room on the terrace level rather than ground level - it was hard to tell from the description... it was not a big problem but personally I prefer to have more natural light in the morning.

This is at least the 3rd time we've stayed at Villa Alfonsina because it is a very comfortable lodging in a perfect location. This is more like an airbnb in that it is part of a residence; a historic home located right across the street from Casa Azul. The owners are very nice, the wifi is great, tap water is filtered and potable, and basically it's a place with a historic feel, but with modern amenities. We will always stay here when visiting CDMX, if possible.

We have no complaints. Others should know this is not a hotel with housekeepers. If you need something, you can ask the owners, but they won't come in to clean up after you every day. We like it that way.

Almost everything. The space was beautiful, there was a small kitchen with fridge for all guests to use, and a laundry facility. The host was friendly and helpful.

There was extreme heat while I was there. My room has no windows, so I had to sleep with my door open. Thankfully there weren’t too many other guests there and the property itself was gated so I didn’t feel unsafe.

This is the best place I got to stay during my whole trip in Mexico (for a total of 3 weeks). The owners of Villa Alfonsina are tremendously gentle, the rooms are provided with everything you need for your stay and there is a small kitchen with tea and coffee also provided by the owners. I am so thankful for this stay and I really hope to come back to DF and will definitely stay again in Villa Alfonsina!!

This is our second time staying at Villa Alfonsina and it will be our first choice when visiting CDMX from now on. This is more like an airbnb than a hotel and the hosts are very nice. From the outside, the place is a fortress, but inside it is a historic home with gorgeous architectural features. The guest rooms were added later and are modern inside with hot showers and filtered water. There are plenty of outlets and a t.v. with streaming services. Our room was not large, but was big enough and has a closet and drawers for storing belongings. Best of all, the location is perfect. Coyoacan is our favorite neighborhood in CDMX and the house is across from Casa Azul, where Frida Kahlo lived. It's 2 blocks to the centro, where there are many options for food, two mercados, and a fun atmosphere.

No complaints. I can't think of one thing.
