Location was great; walking distance to everything you need to see and do in the downtown area- food and shopping. Quaint building and nice size rooms with comfortable bed. Really enjoyed the courtyard area for breakfast and in the evenings to sit with friends to cool down and chat before turning in.

No A/C in the rooms. We were there in May and it was hot. We had to leave window open and use the loud ceiling fan to cool the room enough to get some sleep, but it was still warm.

Breakfast was authentic and great better than the Mercado. Zocalo was one block away and that was a huge plus. There are reviews about rooms being hot but we had a ceiling fan and it eventually got cold but I'm used to visit Mexico with no A/C. There also reviews about it being loud because bars on the same block but we went during a downtime so no complaints.

I found a tiny cockroach in the bathroom but I didn't make a big deal because again I'm used to it almost anywhere you stay there is a risk and I rather see that than a bedbug. Also my room smelled like a mixture of cloro and humidity.

The room was big and comfortable with two double beds. The shower and bathroom were large and the water heated up quickly. There was a nice small balcony off the main room, and a fan on the ceiling that could be adjusted. There were two sets of doors to the balcony, one glass sliding one on the outside, and a second set of normal wooden doors inside, with little windows, so you could adjust from full light, to small windows of light, to complete darkness. The interiors of the building were pretty and there was a restaurant (but I didn’t have time to try it). The location was great, one block from the main square (or zócalo).

There was a protest going on outside the hotel with people camping there. Not the fault of the property owners but access to the hotel was a bit limited by taxis. Other than that, the location was great.

I really loved this hotel and it was my favourite place to stay in Mexico. The location is fantastic, just minutes from the zocalo. it was particularly convenient for me because I hurt my knee while I was here and I needed a place where I could do short walks and rest. The location was perfect and the hotel itself is very beautiful. My room was spacious sand comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I hope to return!

I liked everything!

Very attractive older colonial building in an excellent location. The included breakfast offerigs were various and excellent (loved the chilaquiles verdes). Our room on the seonc floor was generally comfortable and spacious. I really appreciated the open air courtyard outside our room. I'd rate this closer to a 9 than the tentative 8.0 Booking. com seems set to give my review.

The room could have been better lit, esp. with the window glass being frosted, limiting the natural light.

The room and bathroom were very spacious, with high ceilings and the room overlooked the street. Since protesting teachers had set up tents on our street, the street was closed to traffic, so the street was very quiet at night. The hotel is very centrally located and close to cafés, restaurants, shops, etc. The street is well lit. Breakfast was diverse, quickly served and friendly. Staff were friendly and very helpful in finding transportation.

Under normal circumstances, our room would have been noisy because of street traffic. There was no AC in the room, although there were ceiling and floor fans which were helpful but not enough, since temperatures were between 90-95 degrees F. When cooler, AC may not be necessary. The courtyard was nice and cool. The restaurant could be more pleasantly decorated so that it is more welcoming.

Excellent location - right in the center of Oaxaca, everything of interest walkable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent shower - properly hot water (which I’ve struggled to find in Mexico) and v strong water pressure. Comfortable and value for money, would recommend.

Some rooms face an internal courtyard so can be a little noisy (e.g people setting up breakfast). It didn’t bother me, but may be an issue for light sleepers!

Location perfect, hotel is a renovated hacienda that feels fresh and new. We had a suite called Santa Margarita which was $75US per night. It had a living room, huge bedroom with a great king bed, fantastic pillows, and on the bathroom was awesome. Double shower, hot water for days, and perfect for couples which was the situation. Wifi was good, the staff were helpful and considerate, we left our bags before check in and after check out at the reception, no cost, no questions, while we sat around the patio after check out using the wifi and they were accommodating, 10/10. Tremendous hotel, I highly recommend to all vistors to Oaxaca, excellent experience, top 5 in my 50 odd countries and experiences with hotels and AirBnbs.

No faults... Awesome hotel, great staff.
