Hotel Casa las Mercedes

Hotel Casa las Mercedes is one of the best hotels we have stayed in during our travels to Mexico. This place is beautiful, the rooms are clean, plenty of hot water and walking distance to the city center. The staff is friendly and they make you feel like family. Alfredo, our chauffeur was wonderful and made sure every excursion was spectacular. He shared his love of Oaxaca from the moment he picked us up at the airport. Ernesto, our waiter, made the most delicious coffee! He was very attentive and made sure everything was perfectly prepared and served.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

This hotel is very charming with a beautiful courtyard. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly Daniel, Sofia and Ernesto. The location is ideal, just a few blocks from the Zocalo. Our room had plenty of room and excellent lighting. There is a cook on site for breakfast and frequently for dinner. A lovely rooftop deck and bar adds a comfortable touch. Highly recommended hotel.

The staff was nice and the location was nice.

The room didn't have a window that opens and it felt super stuffy. I had to change to a room with a window and I was charged extra. The parking was very far away (3 blocks). I later received a message when I left from the staff that they had charged my card for consumables they forgot to charge me when I was there.

Location was great. Super close to the city. WiFi is ok. Price is great. Service is ok.

Rooms are dark. No windows in the room I stayed in. And one old broken dull light on the ceiling was pretty depressing. The side table lights were ok. Still the room not being bright even with artificial light is pretty bad.

The location was good, the courtyard area was nice and the breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Our was very small, smaller than what we thought we booked. Also, it was on the main level right off the kitchen and breakfast area, so it was noisy early in the morning. The towels were frayed.

Pros: The king size bed, clean room, good updated tv that allowed me to cast movies from my phone, great internet, an umbrella to use during our stay (it happened to rain while we were there and it was great to be able to use the umbrella in the room), ironing board, iron, complimentary water bottles, hot water for the shower, air conditioning, a room safe to store small valuables. There is a beautiful pation to sit and have coffee or conversations or to just read. Also, the bathroom was supplied with two toilet paper rolls. so we didn't have to ask for any more. Great little coffee shop accross the street called Rustika.

Cons: (Which are were minor). The pillows could have been better, they were rather lumpy and small. They did not match the rest of the room in terms of comfort. There was no shower door or curtain and a lot of the shower water splashed outside of the shower area, we had to be careful not to get the toilet paper wet. The hotel was a little hard to find as the hotel sign was difficult to distinguish from the rest of the walls and and the lighting on that block is not as bright as in other areas. I did not see an elevator and it looked like all the rooms were on the second floor. This was not a problem for us but it might be important to someone.

Amazing location! Just a few minutes walk from the city center and walking distance from many eating spots. The personnel was always friendly and helpful. And the facilities were always very clean. There's also a nice terrace for hotel guests.

The hotel is located close to the city centre. It has a pretty inner courtyard and a terrace with a bar with a nice view. Hotel staff was very helpful with our queries and helped us book a taxi for a round-trip to Monte Alban.

The breakfast we prepaid was their "Continental" option, which turned out to be four pieces of toast with six slices of fruit. There were other options available on their menu. I'm guessing these options were the ones that previous customers rated highly. This was not made clear in the Booking.com description.

Very nice hotel in great location within easy walking distance of the main square. Gentleman on reception was very helpful and friendly during our whole stay. No problem changing room on arrival as safe not working. Large rooms. Good wifi.

Inclusive breakfast was very limited!

What I really like was that they had transportation from the airport at a very reasonable price, AND we really like the driver Alfredo, so much that we booked him for three addition site seeing trips.
