Boutique Hotel View

Incredibly friendly and helpful receptionist, who is also the owner of the hotel. The building is a very pretty traditional Amsterdam town house, so much nicer to stay in than a soleless modern hotel. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The beds were super comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect, being equidistant between the museums in one direction and the central plaza areas in the other. We really enjoyed our stay here and would use again if visiting Amsterdam.

The shower enclosure wasn't very good for keeping water within but no big deal as plenty of towels were supplied.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the magnificent Hotel Boutique View during my visit to Amsterdam, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and friendliness by the host, Nathalie, and her assistant, Tycho. Their genuine and sympathetic nature instantly made me feel welcome, as if I were visiting old friends. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional breakfast experience. Nathalie, who affectionately refers to herself as Dr. Pancake, truly lives up to her title. The breakfast was absolutely divine. What truly sets Hotel Boutique View apart is the laid-back and cool atmosphere it exudes. Unlike some stuffy, overly serious establishments, this boutique hotel embraces a relaxed ambiance that instantly puts you at ease. The staff's approachable and friendly demeanor made me feel like I was part of a close-knit community, rather than just another guest passing through. In addition to the excellent service and perfect location, the hotel itself is a gem. The tastefully decorated rooms boasted a unique blend of modern elegance and cozy comfort. In conclusion, I can confidently say that Hotel Boutique View is a true five-star haven in Amsterdam. From the charming personalities of Nathalie and Tycho to the delightful breakfast spread prepared by Dr. Pancake herself.

Great location near big park, stores, and restaurants. Close to public transportation. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our visit.

No air conditioning, only a fan. We had to run the fan at full speed to keep room from getting too hot. The sound of the full speed fan was loud. Cord on the fan was too short to let us put it near the open window. Window of top floor room was smaller than rooms on the lower floors so visibility was not as good, although we did like the river view we had. Staircase leading to upper rooms is very steep which makes it challenging to carry a suitcase up it. We actually didn't have too much trouble getting our bags up the stairs but I can imagine it being very challenging for older people or people with mobility issues.

Quiet space by canal, despite being in the busy entertainment district. Beds very comfortable. Room fairly big. Host was approachable and chatty. Lovely building.

Nobody there at check-in. There is also an issue with the way booking.com present the receipt to you. To me it looked like I had paid the tourist tax so was surprised when the host made us pay it on arrival. Not the host's fault, she definitely hadn't taken it twice, it just looked like that from the booking.com receipt. I think they warn you about the stairs but people need to take that seriously if old or infirm. There are 54 steep ones up 3 floors.

Great location, my room had a nice view on the canal, in a quiet street but in walking distance from a lot of restaurants. Bed was comfy and lovely bath products. Coffee machine in the room was a nice touch. I also had breakfast which was fantastic - freshly cooked for you (Mediterranean style toasts and pancakes and there was also option to have granola). I would have happily stayed longer in this hotel and will come again

I didn’t mind it but something to be aware of is that the stairs are very steep so rooms on the top floor aren’t suitable for people with mobility issues

Room is spacious and the bed is comfortable although it might be a bit difficult to climb up the narrow stairs with your luggage. Hotel is very close to grocery stores, tram stops and Leidseplein where there are many restaurants to chose from.

The receptionist was suspicious of me because I was with my wife and brother and she assumed that my brother would be sharing the room with me. He was just there to accompany me and had no intention to stay in the room. The situation was embarrassing.

There is a great vegan breakfast - large, varied, much fresh fruit and veggies - and friendly, personal service. The central location near Leidseplein was practical, close to Museumplein and multiple tram lines; it was also a treat to be staying on a canal. The room had everything you’d like to have when traveling, very clean, and a mural on one wall gave the room a special touch.

The pillows were too high (for me). The shower got the toilet and floor in front of it wet, taking a while to dry.

Compact but clean with useful additions such as kettle, nespresso machine, coffee and tea. Breakfast was fabulous, personal catering excelled our expectations and wonderful value for money. Beautiful view of the canal from our room

No useful bedside lamp, one side of the bed was up against the wall. It's a great room if you are mobile but the location of the bed and the stairs to the room would make it difficult otherwise. A bathmat would be useful - we used one of the towels

Great location. Easy walk to all of the attractions. Airport bus is 3 minute walk. Tram to train station 2 minute walk. The owner and her staff are great! Gave us great recommendations on where to go eat outside of tourist area and other things to do. Very helpful. Felt like family.
