Cosy hotel on a great location, right in front of a tram stop. Perfectly cleaned, all of the staff were unbelievably helpful, friendly and kind, we could not be more greatful. On the last day they told us we could leave our suitcase and stuff even after we checked out, saved us from so much trouble. The highlight of our stay was waking up in the morning and having our complimentary coffee in the hotel’s cafe. And of course, we loved petting cute little Mimi, the hotel’s cat! Hotel la Bohème was truly the best decision for our stay in Amsterdam!

I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who has trouble going up stairs, they were pretty steep and taking our suitcase upstairs was a bit of a hassle, but so are most buildings in Amsterdam. The rooms were also not very soundproof, but it wasn’t much of an issue.

The hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff were so welcoming. We enjoyed the coffee (and hot chocolate) machine very much. Comfortable beds, lovely warm showers and very quiet rooms were also amazing. Playing Chess and Draughts in the lounge area while watching the trams and bicycles zoom past was great fun. Check out at 11am was great. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and enjoy our last day in Amsterdam due to our evening flight. The hotel was within walking distance of all the sights. We loved being super close to a great super market - Albert Heijn - just 2 mins walk away.

Nothing to complain about at all.

in a perfect location & with an amazing staff. stayed there for 2 days (solo female traveler) and i definetely will be back! breakfast is good, there is always coffee and snacks, my room was very clean and enough. i didn't have probelm with the shared bathrooms (even though i usually prefer within room bathrooms). you can walk almost anywhere from the hotel, yet it is very quiet compared to the other central hotels.

i stayed in the single rooms in the basement, the terrace is very well thought. the chairs & tables made it very easy to hang out in there but the only thing is that there were too many cigarette butts on the floor. maybe an additional ashtray or a tiny dumpster makes it look more cleaner.

I felt like home staying at Hotel La Bohème ♥️ staff is very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about best activities and great places to dine-in in Amsterdam. My room was very clean, comfortable, I had everything I needed. Temperature was on the cool side, but I liked it that way, I had an extra warm blanket for the night. They can also provide heater if necessary. Reception are is wonderful, it is a cute lounge where you can hang out, make plans for the day and have a free coffee or tea with small sweets.

This property was the best decision we made for our trip, the location was exceptional. Shops are just a quick walk away but just far enough out of the town centre to avoid crowds. The workers here are amazing you could not ask for more friendly staff who are willing to chat and offer their recommendations on the best restaurants and entertainment near by. The hotel cat also made an appearance once or twice and she is very friendly and keeps to her self. Once again we could not recommend this place enough.

There is so much to like about Hotel La Boheme! The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. The breakfast was delicious and my bed was very comfortable. The location was central, and while I did take a tram a couple of times (there's a stop outside the hotel door), most places of interest to me (eg the museums, Vondelpark, canal tours) were within walking distance of the hotel. And then of course there is the delightful hotel cat, Jackie (my apologies to the cat if I have misspelt this name 🙂!) who is around most of the time and offered guests company while they enjoyed their free tea/coffee and a chat with staff/other guests at various times of day.

Unfortunately, on occasion, there was noisy laughter and chatting from a space outside at a level that disturbed my sleep - though the noise tended to quieten down by midnight. Sound-proofing isn't great and the stairs down to the garden level rooms are very steep (the latter was not a problem for me but might be for some). The shared bathroom facilities for the single rooms are very small but they work! On one of the days I was there, there was a problem with heating the water and we had cold showers. These things happen sometimes. The positives far outweighed the negatives, and the staff willingness to help in whatever way they could counted for so much.

The breakfast is excellent. The staff is super friendly. The cat is sweet. The other guests seem varied and interesting. The location is fantastic.

Scary steep stairs down to the ground floor where the single rooms are located. The world's tiniest toilet room and shower room. My room was small and the bed was really narrow. My room was directly under the busiest part of the reception/bar/breakfast area, and sometimes a bit loud. The garden patio right outside my window was depressing-- everything else in Amsterdam was bursting with bloom, but only one potted plant out there was lovely and the rest needed attention.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and I loved the options of free coffee/tea/snacks throughout the day! My room was small, but I was traveling alone, so it was fine. I also had to share a bathroom, which was fine, and no one was ever in it when I needed it. Although to get to my room on the basement floor was a narrow stairway, it was a bit uncomfortable to go up and down with my luggage, but manageable. Overall, a nice hotel, but I'm sure the rooms that are not in the basement floor are a lot nicer to stay in.

The tight/narrow stairwell to the rooms in the basement, which were a bit difficult if you are carrying bulky luggage.

What a gorgeous, cosy, friendly and non-generic hotel! We loved it. The staff really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Our room was at the very top and was very cosy, with a really comfy bed, nice bathroom and lots of hot water. Be aware there is no lift and the stairs are very steep (usual for these old buildings) - best to pack light/request a room on the first floor or second floor. Oh and there’s Jacky, the resident cat. Really, this hotel is just a delight.

Nothing at all.

The room is really small but it feels like a warm hug. I stayed on the top floor and was happy to have a fan and room darkening curtains! I slept almost 14 hours one night! It is a great location within walking distance to most attractions including the Red Light District. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

The top floor had around 76 steps to climb. If you’ve never been to Amsterdam, the stairs everywhere are steep! If you’re older or have bad knees, I would not recommend it. It’s especially hard with luggage.
