ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station

The room was more spacious than expected, with nice modern furnishings & detail. A good amount of storage. Great views of central station and bustling streets with bikes going by. We appreciated that the windows opened & loved hearing the tram bells in the street below. A little noisy at night but the windows shut a huge amount of noise out & we just turned the fan on to keep cool. Excellent shower with great water pressure. Loved the body wash & shampoo and appreciated they were vegan. Complimentary coffee (machine) in the lobby was a nice touch! Nice breakfast, the mini pancakes were a hit for us. The bed was pretty hard & pillows enormous so I slept lightly. My daughter (10) thought it was very comfortable though. A bedside lamp or soft light would be a bonus. Some of the small fluorescent lights flickered so couldn’t be used and the room felt dim at night. The sliding bathroom door lock was broken, meaning the door would sit a few centimetres ajar. If you wanted any privacy you’d have to slam it into place. We’d have appreciated an alternative to dairy milk. As we’re vegetarian, the breakfast was a bit limited to baked beans, hash browns, toast, pancakes & fruit salad. There were plenty of pastries, we were searching for healthier options. Oat milk would have meant we could have cereal.

Although very small the bathroom and shower were very good. The bed was comfortable. The location was very good with big choices of cafes and restaurants close by.

The room size was horrendously small no city view as stated when we booked only a window looking into a sort of small square shaft in the building. Bottled water was only provided on first night and really for the room rate we thought this was very poor. Also only 1 sachet each of coffee and tea first night only we were told!

What I like about this property is location, value and price per night. A small hotel that may be easily missed. Location is convenient to Amsterdam Central, train, tram and attractions.

It was very hard to open the window for fresh air. The hotel hallway was cooler than the room. Also, something needs to be done with bathroom (washroom / toilet) smell. The bathroom are comfortable, but every time I would open the door, a smell would hit. I kept door shut and room window open. If you are staying towards city street, you'll wake to street construction noise and tran passing by. This is not a negative review, just a fact if you are a light sleeper.

Location was great with easy access to Centraal Station which is the hub for transport throughout Amsterdam. Many shops and eating places within walking distance. Albert Hejn supermarket just around the corner. Even places like the Rijksmuseum are an easy tram ride away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard fare but good for the price. We were pleasantly surprised at the soundproofing - our room was on the ground floor right next to the Flame Grill bar next door, but with all the doors closed we weren't disturbed.

The pillows were square shaped which took a bit of getting used to but the pros of the hotel far outweighed this con

Staff were incredibly helpful, both for when I locked myself out of the room and when I needed paper boarding passes printed out for the trains. Location was superb, as it was 5 minutes walking from central station. Room is on the small side, but cleanliness were checked multiple times by staff. When taking a shower, definitely need to drop a towel on the floor to prevent flooding.

Size of the room was a bit cramped even for solo travelers. The wifi at times were inconsistent, especially if needing to take a video call here and there.

I absolutely loved the location. It was perfect as it was right by the central station, and it provided easy access to most of the city. The hotel was very nice and the lady at the front desk was super friendly upon check-in.

I did not like that after hours, I was not easily able to get into the building. I had to wait for the front desk worker to come to the door, which took about 10 minutes of waiting outside. If they were able to provide a key card scanner to open the door to get into the building, that would have been a better solution.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel had a nice vibe and are close to the central station Room had a good amount of space, it was clean albeit had some corners needing freshing up, thereof the score. It had great soundproofing so slept real well Will certainly come back at some point, looking forward to arriving earlier in the day so I can make use more of the facilities offered Breakfast times and selection was lovely

Carpets where fine and cleaned but felt they needed either a deep clean or update, there was a few parts of the walls that needed some paint and corner clean That's pretty much it

The location really doesn’t get much better than this. It’s a 5 minute walk or less from everything you need (tram, train station, and even some locations). The staff are also incredible and very accommodating and kind. I really enjoyed everyone I interacted with.

I think the price is high for what you get. Yes, the location is great, but there are other equally close hotels that are the same price or slightly (less than $200 total for my stay) that give more (at Ibis I got a single room, but at this other hotel I could’ve gotten a king room). I think, now that I’m aware and I’ve seen both, I’d probably choose the other which is sad because I did enjoy the Ibis, but who doesn’t want more bang for their buck? Further, the light switches are right next to the bed and there were multiple times when I’d accidentally bump them and then all the lights would turn on in the middle of the night. This was unpleasant but I don’t know what they can do about it.

location is a amazing just the opposite side of central station, three minutes walk. staff are super friendly and helpful Shibo at the reception he was offering information about the city and where to go and where to visit , Jin and the other man at the restaurant ( my bad can’t remember his name though think shoby ) and the nice lady from house keeping

the one king bed is actually two singles attached to each other which is annoying and there is no bin at the bathroom

After a bit of a nightmare journey & not receiving my case, I couldn’t have had a warmer or more helpful welcome. I asked the two staff to let me know there names but can’t find the post if note! sums me up. I know it was Larissa & I think the man’s name was Arum/similar (he was on with Larissa at 8.30pm on Nov 7th). I was in need of a phone charger & they found one, offered me a toothbrush & let me know which shops could help me that late if I needed anything else. this is one of the best welcomes I’ve ever had. I also needed a copy of the receipt once home & within minutes of asking it had all been sent to me by email. This is excellent service. As an outsider I get the impression that staff enjoy their jobs here & take pride in their jobs. Well done & thanks to you all. keep up the great work & don’t lose these staff!!! Hotel was clean. Breakfast staff also very friendly.

My only issue was the pillow. it’s just not comfortable & I see someone else had said the same as me. if you could just replace them with normal pillows it’d make a big difference to comfort. everything else was great.
