The hotel name on the building is not the same as in here. I kept looking for the hotel for a while while I was literally standing in front of it, it just did not cross my mind that the name would be different.

It is my second time (2004 and 2023) in HB. I always find a very and cheap place to stay. Always gave me what was promised.

The girl on the check-in could be more friendly and less narrowminded. She make feel uncomfortable because I was over 35+. She even assume that was not possible to receive me. Was the first time in my life that I felt older than I am. Someone needs to advice her that 40+ is the new 30!

There is a storage space if you arrive before the check in time. But the storage space is open and not really governed by anyone. Room was alright & beds are comfortable. Big storage lockers underneath the bed are provided but you will have to bring your own padlock.

Location was a little bit far and metro was not as near from what i expected. And unfortunately there was a road construction undergoing that time and the road accesible to the hostel was messy & dirty. There is no kitchen facilities and not even a microwave is available. If you are planning to have a budget travel by getting groceries and some microwave food sometimes, you can skip this hostel. I think the hostel should at least prepare a small pantry for public use in future.

The hostel was a lot better than I anticipated! The room was a bit cold when I first went into it, but it quickly heated up with the small radiator. Clean hostel overall, and it was nice that they provided a clean towel for you every day. Great sized lockers under the bunks, so I was able to secure my large suitcase. The breakfast buffet seemed really good too, of course the earlier you go the better 😊 Staff in the restaurant area were really lovely!

It got quite loud in the hallway during the night, especially Thursday and Friday nights. Unfortunately, my room mates weren't very considerate of others when they returned at 4am, so I got very little sleep during my stay, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it is the hostels fault. Sometimes the girls on reception were a bit rude.

The room and the bathroom were clean. Even though it is a hostel they provided fresh towels. Beds were comfy. There were plenty plug points in the room. There was also plenty storage room for your bags under the bed. Check in and check out was quick, you get an email with your bed nr and the code. The location was good. You can take the tram to the city center or walk (20 mins) There are cafes and restaurants nearby.

The room was small and too hot even when it was 8 degrees outside. There is a tiny window which does not let in much air. There is no place to hang the jackets. The washbasin was tiny. The walls let in a lot of noise from outside and the corridors. We had the unfortunate luck of having an older roommate who snored like a lion shaking the whole room. I wish there was a limit on how much noise someone is allowed to make in the room at night, but well, it was a dorm room. The lady at the reception was kind enough to provide some earplugs.

The location is great it’s 5 min from famous museums like Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. You can go whenever you want on foot. During the day I had even a chance to come by my room to change outfits and thengo on exploring Amsterdam. The room and bathroom are perfectly clean and they provide you with a towel every day. Before coming I was afraid that the bathroom would be tiny but it was not true at least for me. Just don't forget to take flip flops it will make your shower experience easier 🙂

As a girl, I was the only one in full a 6-person room with a 5-man. It was not comfortable. I literally mixed the “mix room”. I don't know maybe before check-in you can ask about the fullness of the room and have a chance to change it.

The room and the bathroom were clean and had everything we expected. The boxes under the bed are handy for storage and the location of the hostel is perfect to explore Amsterdam by foot.

There was not a lot of information available on the check-out information, this could be made clearer when checking in. Additionally, there is a space in the back of the building where bikes could be stored but this is not available for guests. That was disappointing since there was clearly more than enough space. It would have been really useful to have a safe space for our bike away from a busy street.
