Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Arena Towers, an IHG Hotel

We had a great stay in the Holiday Inn Express and could easily have stayed longer than our 2 nights. All staff that we interacted with were so lovely, the reception staff were cheerful, a few staff members that we met on the corridor were very friendly and the breakfast staff were above and beyond including giving me a paper bag to takeaway some breakfast for one of our group who stayed in bed! Breakfast was perfect with plenty of choice. The beds were very comfy and our rooms were interconnecting (2 parents/2 big teenagers) which was great. Good choice of channels on TV as well which was welcome after a long tiring day of walking around the city. Location is great as even though outside city it's only a few minutes walk from station for metro/trains. Metro into city centre was probably about 15 mins, didn't feel long in other words. Amsterdam is such a fab city to visit.

The Hotel is very modern and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price and its a continental breakfast which was convienient. Despite the far location to the city centre theres a metro station outside the hotel which takes you straight to the city. Staff very polite and attentive. You can leave your luggage free of charge in the storage room before/after checking in or out. Always slept well and everything is so clean and being on a high floor was a bonus. For the price it's extremely worth it and would love to stay here again.

Everything was perfect

the hotel is nicely situated less than 10 minutes walk from the train station. you can take the train from the airport directly to it. It also provides direct trains to downtown Amsterdam. the Train station is also serviced 24 hours by a bus service. which would make, returning to the hotel late is a breeze (40 mins bus ride after the trains close) the hotel is extensive and very clean, the staff is amazing, friendly and provided good suggestions for visits and touring the city. the breakfast options are a tad small, but as it is continental is expected... there are 2 receptions at the hotel. 1 in the main floor (for the regular Holiday Inn) and 1 in the second floor (for the Holiday Inn Express). I had a corner room and this allowed me to see 2 sides of the city from my windows. the room was very spacious and clean. same with the restroom (washroom) area. spacious and nice big bottles for soap/shampoo/body wash. the bed was really comfortable. the hotel also ensures that not just anyone can access pass the 2nd floor reception. in order to go to a higher floor you need to scan your room keycard once inside the elevator so that it can take you to any of the higher floors. that was a very nice safety feature as it ensures that not just anyone is inside. overall I would definitely stay on this hotel again when travelling to Amsterdam. the city is close, transit is easy and I do recommend getting the city pass as well. (gives unlimited train, bus and tram rides along with free entry to some museums and locations. along with discounts to others), the city pass can be obtained from www.IAMSTERDAM.com or from any local IAMSTERDAM store. if you dont want unlimited access to musems, the train station also sells unlimited ride cards for certain bus, train and tram lines. I recommend using the GBV. that was easy to take and all vehicles were on time.

my room key demagnetized twice during my stay. which coming back after a long day in the city made it a tad annoying to have to head down to the reception to sort it out. however the reps were quick to solve my issue and had ensured that everything was ok.

Everyone at the check in/out desk was AMAZING! While checking my daughter and I in on 7/21/23 (I cannot remember her name but it started with an "S"), the manager was training a new staff member. Her leadership and tone were both confident and respectful while the employee was going through the motions. Employees were helpful with calling taxis, directing my daughter where to purchase an plug adapter, even educating my daughter about a smartphone app that was extremely helpful for ideas on what to see in the area as well as purchasing tickets for those venues. The manager also educated us on the metro system, where to find the stops we needed, and how to get to the museum we had purchased tickets for. She was a blessing! The breakfast buffet was well stocked with many options and the staff attentive and courteous.

Some of the carpets in the common areas and chairs in the waiting areas had a musty, haven't been deep cleaned in a long time, smell.

The hotel itself was super, and very easy to reach from local train / metro station.

This is more of a reflection about booking.com than the hotel I think. The charge quoted on the booking confirmation is not what I paid; I had to pay more. Not only that - and this is a lesson for me to remember in the future - but if I had gone to the IHG website I would have got a price approximately 10% cheaper for the same night. I discovered this a couple of days before the trip, but I didn't feel confident with the free cancellation policy. Booking.com has lost credibility in my mind now.

Everything was good! Size of the room. Cleanness. Breakfast. Resourcefulness of the staffs. Proximity to metro-train. Easy access to supermarket - restaurants - bars - quick bites, at the metro station. That was nice. We could grab something on our way back to the hotel. Breakfast has an overwhelming selection! Everything was good and our expectations were perfectly met. It is not located in the heart of Amsterdam; however, it should not be a big problem, thanks to the metro - train systems. It is not far at all to reach the the city and we took the metro everyday. On your way to the hotel from the metro, you will pass by a huge movie theater, a concert hall, and a AJAX stadium, and all these eating places/supermarket. Not dangerous area at all; rather it is a business district. The hotel is surrounded by some other hotels and tall business buildings.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express hotel and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed and were always available to answer any questions I had. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. I appreciated the attention to detail, from the plush bedding to the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. The amenities in the hotel were also top-notch. What really set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional service. The staff truly went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable, from providing recommendations for local restaurants to arranging transportation to and from the airport. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the area

The staff were really accommodating. We had arrived early and was able to leave our luggage with them so we could head to the city. We also requested for a to go breakfast and they were happy to provide us with some. We were also quite impressed that it blocked the noise levels from the arena and outside and general. There was a match in the arena and there was quite a lot of traffic around the area and if you didn't know this, you wouldn't think that there's something happening at all. The area is good. It wasn't far from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. But close enough to still enjoy the fun.

The TV wouldn't completely be blacked out. You can still see it in the dark. We had to unplug it. But this is not even an issue.

Pleasant and comfortable hotel, good breakfast with a good choice of items, very easy to get to by metro;. Comfortable and consistent with Holiday Inn Express branding

A couple small things: Room cleaning was ever so slightly inconsistent, with one of our rooms not cleaned up or items not replenished (beyond change of towels) on one of the days. Has to be said that on other days cleaning was good enough. Also one of the rooms suffered from a lot of noise from hotel AC in the hall (so outside of the room), which was making it difficult to sleep.

The breakfast was exceptional! Big variety of foods and constant refill! The location was very good. The metro station was about 7 minutes with feet and connected directly to Airport and Amsterdam Centraal. It was very clean and comfy, too! Overall a good experience!

Don't buy anything from the restaurant/bar. A bottle of still water costs €7.50. Ridiculous! Also, something minor (quite funny) that happened is that they put us in a wrong room at first and we went into a room with another couple which was weird for both of us! In their defence, they apologized, offered us 2 free beers and resolved the issue immediately, so no big deal.
