Absolutely loved the landscaping and idyllic settings with the added benefit of some farm animals! The rooms were great, the most comfiest bed Iv stayed in and great amenities in the room - everything you need. Location is lovely and a very short drive into town - a few minutes! But nice to be up in the hills and have amazing views of Hokitika.

Unfortunately when we stayed the restaurant/bar wasn’t open due to no staff, understand it’s difficult to get staff! Hopefully next time we come back it will be open as have heard great things about the food here!

A wonderful place to relax and recharge. Very quietly located with all the modern amenities you'd want to have. The bed is comfortable and the owners are nice. We liked the wonderful view.

The only very minor thing is the that there is no blind/curtain or anything like that for the entrance door- you can't look inside but it gets bright if other guests leave their outside light on and/or in the morning. We had eyemasks so weren't bothered by it.

The Stations Inn is located about 3 kilometres or so inland from Hokitika via a sealed road. It occupies an elevated position with views west to the coast and south to the snow capped Mount Cook and Franz Joseph glaciers. The room we had for two nights was very spacious with a comfortable kingsize bed and mini kitchen facilities ideal for breakfast. A small bottle of milk was provided. Quiet rural location with alpacas and cattle close by. Site historically associated with gold mining.

Great place to stay for a few days. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant not open during our stay - perhaps a post covid or early new year staffing issue.

The cleanliness was remarkable. Excellent choice of coffee, tea, etc. very pleasant owner. Loved the Alpacas. I would definitely recommend the Stations.

I asked for two rooms, was given one room with two beds. Also, there was a spa bath on the website, but just an ordinary shower in my unit. I'd stay there again, but only if I could get two separate rooms, I don't like sleeping in the same room as my son, it's not his fault but he snores.

Station's Inn was a fantastic retreat located just outside Hokitika. The whole experience with this hotel was simple and hassle-free. Our room and bathroom were spacious and well-appointed with all the amenities we didn't even know we needed! The hotel is located a short <5 minutes outside of town and offers a fantastic sunset view of the ocean. There are also alpacas right next door. Room key pick-up is hassle free, even after the reception is closed.

Hokitika is a neat place to visit and Stations Inn was a good place to stay. The location is a little way out of town (and Hau Hau Road is a bit industrial at first) although don't be dissuaded by that being the case. The elevated location means you have a good view and we could hear the ocean on the shore sometimes. The restaurant was not open the two nights we were there and we ate our meals in town, it would be good to eat on site I imagine and not to have to drive elsewhere. The room was huge and well appointed, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a real plus. Check in was really easy and we got straight into our room on our arrival.

This is a very peaceful and attractive location. We stayed last New Year's as well and will book again for next year.

It would be great to have either a curtain or blind on the entrance door as the light in the evening can be distracting when trying to sleep (I realise it goes off around 11 pm). Air conditioning would be wonderful as there is on the one window to open, but that is not a big deal.

Area was quiet. Beautiful view from the room and lots to enjoy about the room itself, including a lovely spa bath! Slept so well here and could park the car directly outside the room so made for a swift entrance and exit. Thank you to the hosts.

Assume this may be from short-staffing so not a complaint , more so a caution to others, the restaurant was closed during ‘opening times’ so worth checking before arrival. if you are arriving later in the afternoon / in the evening either bring food or get some from a local place.

Location and view to Tasman Sea provided a fantastic sunset view.

WiFii could be improved had to use Own data on 4G Phone to watch Netflix - I know not a great issue as we were there to relax , but you asked . At the moment you may get disappointed if you are expecting the restaurant to be open, so check with owner - anyway enjoyed local food down by beach. Very nice owner welcome on arrival.

Very friendly welcome on arrival with immediate access to a wonderfully warm room given that they had put the heating on in anticipation of our arrival. A very generous sized room complete with comfortable furnishings including a large bed, sofa, and a good-sized writing desk. The room was beautifully decorated and offered a fabulous view over farmland to the coast. Provided an excellent guest compendium and Wi-fi service. While located out in the country, about a ten-minute drive from the township, its location was perfect for allowing one to simply relax at the end of each day's activities. Already have plans for a return visit.

Nothing other than the weather being a little dampening. But this is the West Coast, and well beyond the control of the Station Inn management.
