Hotel DeBrett

Decor was very nice and luxurious, very clean and pleasant ambience, bed was comfortable, massive luxurious bathroom with bath and shower facilities, great water pressure, adjustable temperature (silent/no noise), relatively quiet at night for being in the city. Nice staff that responded promptly. Good wifi. Separate space to work from.

Big spiral staircase leading up to bedroom - no problem for me but perhaps ask for a room without if you can’t do stairs. TV channels didn’t really work aside from 4 or 5 random channels that I hadn’t seen before - unless I didn’t know how to work it out (not a huge problem for me as I didn’t need to watch anything but in case it’s important for some)

Very clean. Loved the colours and design of the hotel. Bed was huge and extremely comfy! Bath was deep and relaxing. Great location. Very helpful staff. We were given 2 free drink tickets for the bar on arrival which was a lovely surprise.

We paid $30 for parking, the lot was located about a 3 minute walk away. Not a problem cos it’s Auckland CBD and there’s not a lot of alternatives with parking. But I’d say pack light or drop the bags off at the hotel before driving to the parking lot. And hope it’s not raining! The carpark seemed quite safe.

The decor of the kitchen restaurant, the decor of the room’s bathroom, the delightful nature of the staff.

The room was comfortable, but lacked a sense of warmth and/or coziness. The housekeeping seemed poor. My room was cleaned at 4 pm and was not thoroughly cleaned in bathroom and sleeping zone. The runners on the stairs from the main lobby were filthy as was the papered wall next to the toilet in the restaurant bathroom. Overall, the hotel spoke of a mid century meets art deco design. This seems pleasant enough, but attention to details such as maintenance of the property and providing a sense of texture and warmth in rooms is lacking. Perhaps ditching the stripped carpeting which is worn weary and counter intuitive to the era of the building would help.?.

Stayed at the Hotel Debrett in mid-September 2023 and enjoyed it thourghly. Checked in and they had upgraded me to a larger room. Our room was quite large. The bathroom had a shower as well as a huge tub. Gave us $25 free at their bar. I selected breakfast with them as well. The menu a was limited but the servings were huge. Very ample servings. The staff were extremely friendly not because they were instructed to be but because they were genuinely nice people. We had a wonderful time at the hotel and would recommend it highly. Super place at a reasonable price. Location was good as well.

Spacious facilities, large comfortable bed and a nice separate compact sitting room area with its own chairs, table and TV. Tasteful heritage-inspired decor with a clean and fresh modern-style presentation.

The fridge was too small. We couldn't to fit in a 750ml sized wine bottle standing up nor a large orange juice. We had to empty out all the minibar items out of the fridge to fit in even basic essentials of our own. Car parking option was a bit tricky to get in and out of. It's understandable that there wasn't space for it, but it would have been nice to have a gym facility.

The reception, cleaning, and room service staff were very friendly and helpful. The superior room that we had booked was lovely and very clean. The bathroom was great and spacious. The hotel's location is excellent. The windows had double-glazing.

Our room was above the in-house bar and, even though the room was quite well insulated, we could still hear noises until late, which was not great as we had asked for a quiet room. The breakfast was self-consciously 'stylish' but a bit disappointing: there was no buffet and the menu mainly consisted of variations on an egg theme; it also took *a very long time* for breakfast (breakslow) to be prepared (even as the only guests there was 30+ minutes wait). The breakfast menu also fails to make clear which drinks are included, apparently leaving it open to interpretation by the waiting staff (or at least by the final day's grumpy waitress, which ended our otherwise good experience of the hotel on a low note).

We stayed at the Hotel DeBrett over NYE - Good facilities and loved the beautiful old staircase. The rooms were comfortable and clean and quiet. The only let down was the air-con was not working and the room was very warm which they tried to help by providing a fan - but it would have been better to have been informed of this prior and not once we were in the room. Staff all lovely, and fantastic food at the restaurant.

Parking off-site is a little inconvenient but not a deal-breaker.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the centre of Auckland CBD. Staff were exceptionally kind and the room was very comfortable. The room was sound-proofed so we slept soundly without having to deal with the noise of being right in the center of town- which was excellent so we can walk to a bunch of cool shops/restaurants. The room was romantic without being over the top and there were some great Kiwi snacks/drinks to purchase from room service/mini bar.

Was nice bathroom

I never got the room i paid for i felt the room was too tiny courtyard room i was in room 92. I also while habimg a shower on the left hand side i spotted black type of snake worm in a curve position by the time i stepped out of shower box this snake type thing was in full circle also after that i noticed a massive line has occurred cracking the tiles straight across i report too tge staff Chinese youngish female and tge Indian youngish male yesterday. I also find a green bambo stepping ladder in the bathroom. I put in the bedroom on the floor the Chinese female went into remove all my stuff before my check out time. I stayed two nights 1st room was 24. I saw a snatching inside the cabinet. Looks like a coffen with a character getting out.

Suite was exceptional, we were upgraded to a superior room which was appreciated. Heaps of space. Gorgeous bathroom.

Tiny fridge - no room for anything extra. No car parking on site, although the staff were very helpful to arrange one for us as soon as possible and there are multiple car parks within easy walking distance and there is a loading zone right outside so we didn't need to drag luggage around the streets.
