Hotel Gat Rossio

The location of the hotel is central and perfect for getting around and travelling out of Lisbon by bus, metro/tube and train. It is also a great location for sightseeing and shopping. The squares are conveniently located nearby to join free walking tours. I would recommend the Alfama - old town tour. The single room was small, but it did not bother me as I was there to explore the city. More important to me was that it (the room) was clean, and continental breakfasts perfectly fine to start the day on. Katty and Andreea were very professional, friendly and helpful. I will stay there again.

What was missing was a kettle, tea/coffee and cup in the room.

Excellent location but quite pricey. Extremely basic in terms of services - no fridge in the room, tiny rooms. Essentially you are paying for the location. If you’re just planning to spend one or two nights and most of the at time outside then it works well.

Could have used a small fridge or at least machines providing cold water. Rooms were tiny and there’s no way to turn off the green lights in the windows that stay on all night.

The location is excellent, easy to locate in the street, close to many attractions. The staff is amazing, always ready to offer support. The beds are very comfortable. A variety of pillows offered which is a plus. The wifi works well. A stool is offered in the bathroom which also helps shorter people reach the window to open it.

The standard rooms are TINY, although during our first stay the bathroom was bigger which was a great convenience. The pillows offered during our first stay were much more comfortable than the second, but we did not bring it up with the Hotel. It did not affect our sleep. There is only one lift so unless you take the stairs, plan accordingly.

Very convenient location, clean and pleasant hotel, with unpretentiousness about it. The prices in Lisbon are currently very high and Gat Rossio is therefore a little expensive for a 2 star Hotel being not much less than a 4 star hotel in Toulouse where my wife and I stayed recently..........This is not a complaint, just the obvious..........sale and demand.

The Booking.com driver "Clayton Rosa" went "missing" at the airport so wasted over 30 minutes trying to find him and then had to pay another €27 to get a taxi. Still waiting for Booking.com to replay and repay the £21.99 I paid them and with interest rates going up a higher amount is due to be returned to me. Just to let you know, that I have used Booking.com many many times before, but if I do not get reimbursed for the taxi that never arrived, I will not be using them again.................................for sure.........interesting how one cannot ring them..........I wonder why eh !

Arrived late as missed plane connection and were so lucky there was a vacancy here. Very modern, clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff

This hotel is in a lively location just a couple of minutes walk from a station/metro stop with bars and restaurants just outside and a tourist information office diagonally opposite. The train to Sintra goes from the train station and many buses have nearby stops. The staff there were extremely friendly and helpful and despite being where it was the hotel and our room, which was the first floor ( reached by either stairs or lift) were very quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good with a great selection of hot and cold food available. Drinks included freshly squeezed Orange juice. Whilst the room was quite small and lacking some of the frills of bigger hotels such as in room coffee making facilities, for the price it represented great value for money. The beds were very comfortable and the room was extremely clean.

Nothing. As stated bedrooms are on the small side but inside and outside lounging areas are available with vending machines with food and hot drinks if you didn’t want to go out. Tv and toiletries In the room.

The location is excellent and just within a walking distance to the must-see attractions. Staff is very friendly, breakfast was nice.

The only downside was the room- it was located on the second floor but there is no access in an elevator- so we had to climb a few stairs and cross a balcony to make it to our room- with 3 pieces of luggage it was a challenge. Also the room was split into one bed downstairs and one double bed in a loft- so our climbing skills were challenged. Apart from that- rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

The location was excellent, very central for all forms of transport although many of the places to visit are in walking distance. We used the Yellow Bus Hop on Hop off for the places further away like the Oceanarium and Belem Tower. The room although small was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided a wide range of choices suitable for all tastes. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly.

It would have been nice to have drink facilities in the room. Free water was available from a cooler on reception and a vending machine was available in the waiting area but it was not free for guests. Perhaps it could have been.

As recommended, the hotel is a few steps away from the subway station. There are several good restaurants downstairs. There is a famous egg tart shop at the corner for breakfast. There are many scenic spots within one kilometer around the hotel that can be reached on foot. In addition, you can take the train to Sintra It is also very convenient。 The front desk service of the hotel is also very good. The European plug of my mobile phone can't be used. The front desk lent it to me so that I don't have to buy another one。

It was a good spot in a vibrant part of the city. It is very close to the metro station and bus stop which made it easy to explore. We loved the restaurants nearby, great recommendations from the staff for authentic Portuguese cuisine where the locals eat and it did not disappoint!! The staff was very helpful. I was there on crutches with a foot injury and they were so so kind. We dropped off our luggage before checkin and they held it for us, when we got back it was in our room—and we had A LOT of stuff!

Room was small even compared to other European hotels I’ve stayed in.
