My Story Hotel Figueira

Excellent location,very clean and comfortable room,friendly staff.

Only minor complaint is that the hotel provide a pod coffee machine but won’t replenish the pods without an additional €1 a pod charge.Free tea and coffee is a staple in a hotel so this felt a bit cheeky.

Initially I was quite impressed with the hotel. It is located very centrally with a lot to see and do around. The rooms are very nice and clean, and the staff friendly. My room had a lovely view of the Figueira square, and the room was beautifully appointed and equipped with a kettle and a mini-fridge, and a TV.

I was underwhelmed by breakfast - due to COVID, only table service was available, with small portions and not much to choose from. At least until breakfast buffet is available, I would recommend reserving a room without breakfast, and eating out. Subsequently I stayed at other hotels in Lisbon at this price point where I believe I got better value; here you are paying a bit more for the excellent, yet touristy, location.

There was a delicious and varied breakfast.

1. It is dramatic that a hotel is eliminating its lobby in favor of turning it into a restaurant. The reception desk is part of a bar. When I came to collect my suitcases on the day of departure, after depositing them at the hotel, the only place to open the suitcase and arrange it was on the floor of an unclean bathroom. It is quite unhygienic and unpleasant. 2. One of the evenings I was sitting in the hotel's restaurant, with a colleague, the waiters more or less stole our dishes before we even finished them. Apart from these two matters, the room was beautiful, clean and spacious.

Though there was an initial hitch but later on everything was normal and thanks to Andre ,Carlos,Tatiana and Rubin and others they ensured d bal stay was good as they all really felt bad later of the initial slackness and blamed themselves for it and said it was just those " one off days " Hotel is amazing including the staff ,location is amazing , walkable nearby sites and great restaurants nearby including the hotels own restaurant.

The hotel is in Praça da Figueira, right in the City center, close proximity to Praça da Rossio and Praça de Restauradoras, there’s a Metro station right in front and a stop for the buses and trams. The hotel’s staff is very attentive and friendly; Luis and Mariana’s recommendations were very helpful and made our time in Lisbon even better. Also the hotel’s restaurant La Squadra is very good, the pizzas are delicious! If we return to Lisbon, we’re definitely returning to My Story Hotel Figueira.

We liked everything really.

Location right in the middle of many attractions and transit. Room was modern and well decorated. Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Easy walk to the metro and trams.

Centrally located to most sites ti visit. Beautiful hotel staff are prompt and willingness to assist with question and concerns. The room provided was very lovely view of the square. The you my story Hotel Figueira and staff members for making my birthday special. This vacation was to celebrate my birthday but tirmusus and champagne was provide. Bathroom is larger than.others places i have statedI. Coffee make kettle to prepare hot water and mini refrigerator full stock with goodies at a cost to you. Also your on vacation they have services to water clothes for you too at cost. I was having issues with my return flight the young ladies assistance with getting a pickup from the hotel to airport or if I needed to stay seeing about availability and the cost.i fail to added the bed was just right.

*Please read in full for footwear/safety advice* The staff here were all absolutely wonderful. Their friendliness surpassed that of other locals I met in different contexts - in defence of the Portuguese people, the pope was visiting whilst I was there and there were apparently between one and one and a half million Catholics that descended upon the city for the related World Youth Day, which was nightmarish for me (and no doubt for anyone with any kind of experience of negativity or abuse in a church context). The streets were intense but the hotel and staff always felt like a calm and friendly oasis in amongst the stress. The room was spotlessly clean, quiet and very comfortable. It was small, which didn’t bother me because I don’t spend extended amounts of time in a hotel room when I’m a tourist. Breakfast and the restaurant/bar were fabulous with excellent service.

The location is excellent, but to give visitors a head’s up, it’s right in the middle of the tourist area. I would encourage you to venture farther afield to explore, which will involve hills and stairs, but it will be worth it. PRO TIP: footwear. Nothing to do with the hotel, but I need to pass this knowledge on because it was a game changer. I spent 2.5 days slipping and sliding atop the beautiful but terrifying tiled footpaths. Eventually I wandered into a shoe shop selling “Portuguese shoes” and it changed everything. You just need shoes with the correct soles for the tiles and boom, you can wander comfortably without fear of injury.

The Hotel is in Figueira Square in a perfect location to enjoy the many shops, restaurants and activities of that area. Within walking distance of the Port. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was very comprehensive covering everything for all tastes. The only negative, perhaps, was the coffee machine which took a while to give you a coffee of your choice and not a great coffee. I think perhaps a good coffee could be provided with thermos jugs and kept hot and replenished. However, everything else at breakfast was good, plenty of fresh fruit and yogurt as well as a cooked breakfast and pastries. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Our room was comfortable with air conditioning and comfortable beds, and the walk-in shower with a rain shower head great also. Coffee machine, electric kettle were also provided in the room. Recommend this Hotel and the location and will return.

The service was exceptionnal with a lot of professionalism. We asked for picking up us at the airport and we were welcomed as VIP guests. All the staff of the hotel was very friendly and always took care of us. The employees were reactive to any kind of questions we might have. The rooms were clean and well isolated so we can sleep quietly. The hotel is perfectly located. We highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant which serve excellent Italian fresh meals. We stayed 6 nights at My Story Figueira and there is no doubt that we will come back ! * To celebrate the New Year, the hotel offered to everyone a small bottle of Prosecco and a Portuguese cake with a card to wish us a happy new year....this was so lovely ! 🥰
