Hotel was lovely, staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable Breakfast was good New pool area will be great when completed

There were extensive building works being carried out at the back of the hotel to build a new swimming pool area ( which we were not made aware of either by the hotel or booking.com) they started early and it meant using the current pool was not relaxing as it surrounded by builders drilling, welding and dust. Our room was also up a set of stairs which had a light using a sensor - it was not sensitive enough and i fell on the stairs as it was too dark to navigate safely.

Very clean, visually pleasing. Staff always tried, all very willing.

Staff very new due to start of season so some had little knowledge of area. More experienced staff very good. 224 very small window. 221 excellent.

The breakfast offered an excellent choice of hot and cold dishes. The bowls of fruit were much appreciated. The staff was very attentive to maintaining the availability of the hot food. One morning when I asked if the eggs would be replenished, I was told five minutes, which was fine and when they were ready, a member of staff asked if I would like them brought to me. Very nice. The location was safe and easy to navigate. It is on the Gaia side so there is a bit of a walk across the bridge to sights on the Porto side.

My room was fairly small. I had to lift the desk chair and carry it across the room to move it closer to the bed. There wasn't enough room to just roll it between the bed and the wall. Still, it was bright and cheery. Immaculately maintained.

The hotel was very comfortable, the room really good size and the bed was just great. All the staff need a special mention, everyone was so nice and helpful! The hotel is located in Vilanova da Gaya, not Porto per se, but we actually enjoyed it more that way. There is a tram link to the old town less than 10 minutes walk away and the Duoro riverside is 15 minutes away down the hill. Being a bit out of the way made the hotel much more quiet and a pleasant retreat after all day of walking around Porto. Also a better value than city centre hotels!

The breakfast choices were a bit minimal and the coffee just OK, not great. The fruit was nice, but the rest just OK. The floor it the room was very squeaky.

Very comfortable room. Lovely little bar! Great breakfast. The best receptionist out of 14 hotels on this trip….she should teach the other receptionists we came across!!

Access to pool was tricky and it was cold…not many seats….but new pool being built while we were there.

the last night there was a big group of schoolchildren there who were noisy and disruptive at midnight that was NOT the hotels fault

The hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms are beautiful. There was a good breakfast consisting of Portuguese pastries, bread, ham, cheese and then hot chorizo, scrambled egg and bacon. We had chocolates on arrival which was a nice touch! The rooms were made up every day and the bedding was super soft! The hotel is around an 8 minute walk from General Torres metro/train/bus station. It’s really convenient for getting the bus or train to the beach. It is about a 20 minute walk to the central station over the beautiful bridge. This makes the walk seem short as there is so much to look at enroute! You could also hop on the metro which is really reasonably priced!

The pool was on the smaller side but perfect for a cool down!

The breakfast was good. The bedding covers were comfortable. The staff came to the room to help us with the A/C.

There wasn’t enough lighting in the bathroom. The room should have been cool once we got in. The hotel didn’t have ample parking.

The staff and the management were very friendly and accommodating. One night, my friend had a problem with her car and the staff went out of their way to help her call a repairman that could help her fix it. When the problem needed further time and attention, the staff offered to follow up with the repairman and take the keys when he finished. Also, I had a very unique request to stay in a very specific room. Although the room wasn't immediately available, the staff and management were willing to make the efforts to make some changes to make the room available to me since they knew it was important to me. The place was beautiful and gave me a sense of peace and relaxation while also being close enough to downtown for me to take a short shuttle or walk. I would be very happy to stay here again :)
