Hotel Brummell

We booked this hotel for 5 nights and it was truly great. We had a double room with pool view, it was pretty easy to access anything we wanted using either the outside stairs or the elevator. The pool was a little smaller than we imagined, but it was still refreshing to go for a quick swim in the afternoon after walking the entire day through the streets of Barcelona. Take note that the hotel is situated on a hill, so at the end of the day when your feet want nothing but to rest up after walking, you’re gonna have to go up a little hill. The distance from the hotel to Avinguda del Paral·lel is around 600 m, so it was easy to access the metro station or the bus station to get around the city. The staff is also very helpful and kind, they truly care that you get the best experience they can offer and take time to actually recommend cool places around the city that aren’t tourist traps.

We had breakfast included and it wasn’t pretty clear whether the yoghurt, the egg or the coffee that you could order wasn’t included in the breakfast option, but still they were really tasty so I guess it was our fault for not asking exactly.

REALLY LOVED THIS HOTEL ….. The best thing about this hotel was the friendly vibe it has and the great staff. We were there for 3 nights to see Michael Buble in concert and thoroughly loved our stay here. The hotel has a very relaxed feel about it, you almost feel like you are staying with friends. The staff take the time to listen and help wherever they can. The breakfast at HB is wonderful. Beautifully presented and very healthy. We had dinner one night and again the food was excellent. Once we got to know the location we realised we were very close to the metro (10 min walk) which connects to anywhere you want to go. But also walking the neighbourhood with lots of bars & restaurants (typically Spanish) was very close by. We stayed in the Penthouse overlooking the city. The bed was super comfy. This PH has the larger bed & room than the other, and also the huge shower. I think if we were staying in the summer I would like the other PH as it has a larger terrace. The outdoor bath was lovely, even in February, but bear in mind it takes ages to fill !! If you want to see Barcelona consider the sidecar tour, it’s worth every penny as you get to see a lot of the city in a matter of hours, stopping for coffee at the Sagrada Família was a wonderful experience ! Nothing … although our room desperately needed hooks and when I mentioned this to Alma (operations manager) she agreed and has now ordered some si that won’t be an issue.

The hotel has a human size. It is not too big and the staff is extremely friendly and kind. The room was very spacious and the restaurant was clearly a very nice discovery. The dinner is absolutely delicious.

The pool. We were tricked by the nice picture when we booked. In fact, it s absolutely not a pool, it is a bassin in which you cannot swim at all. I have never seen something this tiny and it cannot truly be used. It s more for kids if you have one but if you are looking for an hotel with a nice pool, don t book, this is not a pool!

- Hotel Personnel was super nice and attentive! The people/staff made the place for me. The presentation of the breakfast was great and it was delicious - location felt super local (neighbourhood of El Poble Sec) but still within a 20-30 walk to downtown Barcelona and main sights + quick walk to subway -room: comfortable bed, clean room, good bathroom toiletries, shampoo and shower gel -common spaces: sitting by the pool and in the garden was a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona -Customer centricity: little booklet provided by hotel on main Barca sights to see and suggested walks was a nice touch

- room was a bit small for the price - one couldn't really use the New York style fire escape stairs as a private balcony - I wish the closet in the room had doors; the shelving units were useful, but one's luggage and clothes was visible, which made the room seem a bit smaller

Charming and beautifully-designed hip hotel in walkable non-touristy neighborhood. Nice rooms with comfy bedding. Nice shower products. Beautiful rooftop area, pool, and sauna. Chic lobby with art and cozy breakfast area. Delicious breakfasts presented beautifully. Personable waiter. Nice gift shop. Good front desk service at check-in and check-out. Stored luggage until room was ready. Appreciated the local restaurant and bar postings daily in the elevator. Good value. Would return.

No tissues in room. Wish pool was heated and usable year-round. Good breakfasts but they were were the same everyday so suggest they change it up daily. Wouldn't add them to next stay for that reason. Had asked for vegetarian and it was heavy on meat both days. Only one waiter serving a relatively busy dining area, so they could use more staff. Unfortunately bar was closed during two days we were there. Would have enjoyed trying it. These are minor issues for what was still a very nice stay.

The Brummel is charming and has a wonderful, caring staff. Employees themselves seem to love the hotel and treat guests like old friends. The location near Montjuic cannot be beat. It feels removed and close to everything green. Yet we walked almost every day to the Born, to museums, to the Gothic Quarter. We stayed at the Brummel at the beginning of our trip, then moved into an AIRBNB, then returned for a couple nights. We were so happy to return. We loved the consistency of the hotel and knew the staff would help us with a cab to the airport and anything else we needed.

A 20 room boutique hotel beautifully decorated with excellent rooms and staff, a swimming pool, outdoor deck, as well as a restaurant and bar. Great location in the Poble Sec neighborhood which is vibrant with great restaurants, parks and historic sites. At the restaurant then have an honesty area stocked with wines, beer and liquor which you can take whenever you want and just fill out a form indicating what you took. The room with a complete breakfast included was 220 euro. Highly recommend.

the hotel was excellent everything from arriving to leaving was just outstanding the breakfast was great the honesty bar for drinks & snacks was a great idea the free tea & coffee in reception area was great being able to store bag when we got there & then put in our room for when we got back to also keeping them for us before we flew back home just an outstanding place to stay nothing was no trouble at all

location was a little over 30 mins to most places but it wouldn’t put me off staying again & again

The staff were super friendly and helpful, particularly Tatiana. Provided you are fit and healthy, the location is great. A quieter, hilly neighbourhood with cool bars and restaurants, within a 15 mins walk of La Rambla and 5 mins walk of metro station, right next to Parc De Montjuic. Breakfast is delicious.

The hairdryer in the room was barely working, but the staff provided me with a replacement hairdryer when requested. The pool is very small & the terrace does not get much sun, particularly later in the season, when the sun is lower in the sky.

Breakfast was brilliant. It was delicious, but it was the staff that made it so enjoyable. They went above and beyond with service, presentation and, of course, taste. Angelo, Michela, Ainara, Indira, and the housekeeping staff were a well oiled machine, with great personalities, smiles, and they were very kind.

The one thing we didn’t like was how noisy the vending machine was outside our door. It often disturbed us during the night. Also, if it was at all possible, we are bigger people - if the bed had been a little larger it would have been appreciated.
