Hotel Raval House

Hotel was in a good location. A lot of reviews said the location felt dodgy but we had no issues and there was a security man at the door. Rooms were nice and were big. Bathroom was really nice with a big walk in shower. Breakfast was also really nice. Was very good value for money and a lot cheaper than a lot of other hotels

The door to the balcony was very good and you couldnt hear down to the street but you could hear people above you. However it wouldnt stop me staying here again

Raval House has the perfect location since the Liceu metro station (weekdays open 5am - midnight and Saturday 5am - 2am) is just down the road, making exploring Barcelona easier. The room was spacious for 2 people with a little sitting area and floor-to-ceiling windows. It was spotless and everything was in working condition. Breakfast was good, buffet style with fruit, cereal, eggs, cheese, cold cuts, bacon, pastries, toast, bread, jam, tea, and coffee. There is 24h front desk. There is also a pool but we didn't have time to enjoy it. I also read some comments from previous guests regarding the safety and "group of men hanging on the streets". YES, there are men on the streets, it is a residential area :-) I was walking home alone in the middle of the night and everything was OK....but that doesn't mean that you do not have to use your common sense!

This comment is my suggestion since I am more of a "green" person.....there should be a little note in the room regarding the towels. The towels are changed every day and I think that is not necessary. A message should say if you want your towels to be changed, leave them on the floor. I then just put the note on the door Do not disturb :-)

We loved our 6 nights stay at Hotel Raval House! The hotel is clean and comfortable. Our room was quite big with two single beds as requested. There was a seating area with two chairs and a little table and a balcony . Lovely big modern bathroom . Towels were changed and room cleaned every day . Bed linen was changed every second day. The reception ladies were super friendly and helpful. The one is called Amy - unfortunately we did not ask the other ladies names. Pool area clean. Beautiful reception area . Enjoyed the breakfast - more than enough variety. Location very central . We did not find the area unsafe at all . Lively cosmopolitan area! (We are a 70 year old couple that felt safe at all times).

The bathroom was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and very fresh. Air conditioning is functional. Make sure you take a trip with the lift to the last floor (only one of the lifts will take you there) and visit the rooftop pool and sunbathing area. Raval is located near the Cat statue and La Rambla, so it's a great starting point for exploring the city - it's close to both Liceu (6') and Paral·lel (8') metro stations that connect you to the main attractions.

The room was smaller than expected and the bed could also be a bit bigger for two people. A refrigerator would be nice, considering the hot temperatures.

We loved the central location, the staff were excellent, everyone spoke English well. Breakfast buffet was excellent with hot and cold selections to satisfy everyone. There is a selection of fresh fruits, cereals including muesli, yogurt, cheeses and cold cuts eggs, bacon and croissants. This was a sampling, there was much more.

Our only problem was that our room had two single beds rather than one bed. Not a crisis and we made it work but that's it, nothing else.

This hotel exceeded our expectations, The rooms are very comfortable, large and have great decor. Breakfast is very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a short walk to Ramblas with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

The pool is more like a pond! It’s only 70cm deep so you have to lay down and splash yourself to get wet. The roof top doesn’t have a bar or toilets. It’s okay as a place to sit and sun bake but I wouldn’t call it a “pool area”

Breakfast was plentiful with a good range of different foods. I liked the location, it was off the main thoroughfare of the Ramblas but close enough to get to it quickly and easily. I liked that there were local neighbourhood restaurants and bars and not all chain establishments.

I thought that the staff could have been friendlier and interacted more with us. They were very professional and gave us useful information but they did not engage with us on a personal level.

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. At first we felt a little put-off by the location as it felt as if the hotel was in a bit of a seedy area but in fact it was so easy to walk to La Rambla, the Metro, bus stops, shops etc. that we soon stopped feeling that way. It is in a side-street amongst small shops are there are always lots of people around. There is a late-night mini-market just across the road where we often picked up a nice cold bottle of water to take to bed with us at the end of the night. There was a nice variety of food on offer for breakfast, along with tea, coffee and fruit juice options. Our room was great with a comfy bed and a decent sized bathroom, and there are two lifts which was very useful after having walked around the city all day!

We had a room at the back which overlooked lots of flats but in a city, this is to be expected. It was quiet from that point of view but we didn't feel there was any sound-proofing from the room next door and with hard floors, we heard them walking around and talking quite a lot. This is only a very minor niggle as we really did enjoy our stay here.

Clean welcoming room. Comfy bed, great shower. Breakfast included.

Its a cracking hotel but a bit near one of the less salubrious areas. So just keep to the main roads on returning late at night. I would stay there again though.

The room was excellent and such a generous size. We stayed during a peak holiday weekend so prices were high in the city. Raval House offered good value for money. Good breakfast, good pillows and a wonderful shower. Location allows for easy access to the Gothic Quarter and beach as well as a heap of great little bars and an excellent food market.

Bed was a little lacking support. Staff were efficient but didn't seem to enjoy their work, which is relatable to most I'm sure. The area can be a little intimidating especially at night but we had no issues and would stay again.
