U Sathorn Bangkok

The U Sathorn was really really beautiful, it far exceeded our expectations. The bed in our room was very comfortable, though the rooms are not large, they were fine for us. The pool was wonderful, and the staff were really nice. The breakfast buffet was excellent too.

The location is a little secluded, the hotel provides a tuk-tuk-shuttle to the nearest station but it is only every 2 hours. Otherwise it's a 15 min walk on roads with no pavements.

Wonderful in every way. Absolutely first class. Highly recommend.

Its position. It’s wonderful. An oasis in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. You prepare yourself to go out to visit many fabulous places. Famous and infamous. Bangkok demands to be seen. But to be able to return to a place dwarfed by skyscrapers makes the whole experience a delight. On top of that the staff were excellent. You went to bed looking forward to waking up to another superb breakfast. Eggs anyway alongside fresh produce to satisfy anyone’s pallet. Oh finally. Great value. Remember it’s our little secret. Don’t tell anyone.

You go to Bangkok to see Bangkok. I suppose you could question if there should be in house entertainment around the bar in the evenings. But that would have been wasted on us. This is me being hypercritical. Couldn’t think of anything. Loved it.

Good room size and a pleasant location. Room facilities are good

We had a second stay booked for the return leg of our journey. On arrival for our first stay, we were told that our room (a suite) would not be available on our return because of "maintenance". We later discovered that this was untrue and the real reason our room would not be available was because they had booked it for a wedding party. This is totally unacceptable, especially as we were not told until we arrived for our first stay. Clearly they were concerned that we would cancel the entire booking. On this basis, I cannot recommend the hotel

We loved everything about the this hotel, the rooms, the pool, the staff, the food, the location. It is a couple of KM out of the city centre which for us was a bonus, but taxi's and Tuk Tuk are really cheap. Just be aware that the traffic can be very busy at any time of the day so it can take time to get a taxi or to get to places (this is nothing to do with the hotel but the city itself). We felt that the hotel was a little haven of tranquility in the middle of a very busy city. There are also lots of restaurants close by, so we didn't feel the need to go into Bangkok each evening. The Hotel restaurant was excellent too.

We loved everything about the hotel but the wifi could be a bit hit or miss. It was great when it worked but it was not always easy to access it. We did get tourist sims at the Airport on arrival with a great data package and they worked perfectly.

The beds and pillows were AMAZING! Never slept so well in a hotel. It was very quiet and the staff, particularly Win, were very helpful. The location wasn’t too far out either, which was a concern when I booked, but there is an MTR stop nearby that the hotel provides a Tuk Tuk to at certain times of the day. I wouldn’t bother with the MTR though as taxis and Tuk Tuks are very cheap. Do haggle over price because none of the taxis use meters and they always offer an inflated fare to start with.

Breakfast wasn’t great as there were limited options at the buffet and the menu options were just eggs, although if you like eggs there was a lot of choice. The hotel clientele was about 95% Chinese though so it probably catered more towards Asian taste.

Room was large, very comfortable with a balcony and a nice outlook overlooking the pool and grounds. Breakfast was outstanding. The best thing was the breakfast anywhere, anytime option. Appreciated complimentary waters each day and two drinks from the mini bar!

This is really being picky, as I thought most things perfect, however I would have liked some body lotion in the bathroom along with the complimentary shampoo, soap and bath wash.

Beautiful pool and garden, clean and comfortable rooms. Great cocktails by the pool. Quiet location.

Location is not the best, we hit a lot of traffic around the place and could not find a taxi to take us to the centre on a Friday night. We had asked for an extra bed via booking.com, we assumed it was arranged as we had not heard back but when we arrived there was no extra bed for our 10yr old. They solved it by letting us sleep with 3 in one king bed, which is a better solution than having to pay for an upgrade, but it was not ideal. The door of the toilet in the room is open at the top. Details but inconvenient.

The whole atmosphere was wonderful. All staff were friendly and keen to help whenever asked. The food and drinks were excellent. The bed was so comfortable that we all agreed that it was the best sleep we'd had a long while!

There was nothing that we didn't like, however, the room had only been made up for 2 even though we'd booked for 2 adults and a child of 9yrs old and some of the toiletries were missing. It would also be helpful to have some of the information in the room regarding where to go for breakfast and things about the hotel as they were different from what I'd read on the website. It was however, a lovely stay.

Our third time here so it means we really like the hotel. it gives you a getaway feeling which is rare to find in Bangkok. Popular pool is needless to say the best attraction of the hotel. Breakfast is decent given the fact that there were a lot of food choices and they change the buffet food variety everyday. The order menu though, has been the same since we first arrived which was 2016. Overall, still a nice place to be for families and couples.

we could see that the hotel is trying its best at maintaining at its best. However, we have got several cuts from around the edges of the pool. The incidents have been reported to the staff member and I believe it will be fixed when I return next time.
