Root Karaköy

I loved everything at the property. I admire the professionalism of the management team. The take care of every single detail at the property. Beside the great work of the management, I loved the breakfast area and the team there is doing a great job, a big clap to the chefs. Furthermore, the house keeping staff were very good and sincere at their job, I can’t remember a single thing they forgot while cleaning our room for the whole 8 nights, even the coffee machine capsules were never skipped or forgotten (like other 4 star and sometimes even 5 start hotels). Yes, it is that specific! A clap to all the receptionists and the gate watchers. They were of great assistance at all times. I’ll say it again, such hotel success happens when there is a professional and hardworking management team behind all these sectors mentioned above. So a big clap to them.

I can’t think of anything really, but I’d love trying the hotel’s Turkish Bath and Spa. Unluckily, they were under renovations at the time of our stay.

Perfect location, rooftop and breakfast, and pretty calm and not noisy considering the location.

Just overall it wasn’t clean. In my room I had women hair in bathroom, around the soap / shower gel stationery, and there were two complimentary water, one of them was half empty. Also the shower area had hair. I stayed 2 nights in this room and second day although the room was cleaned the women hair in the stationary was still there. For such a nice hotel, they should be more careful. If it wasn’t for this I’d definitely give them 10 and I will for be back there if I know I’ll be guaranteed to stay in a clean room.

Incredible location right in Karaköy just moments from the best coffee in Istanbul (Kronotrop) and countless bars and restaurants. Modern & clean hotel, good shower, spa and excellent gym facility. Friendly staff & breakfast runs late. good after a night out. Bluetooth speaker in room is a lovely detail.

Hotel bar service was a little strange, I felt like I was their first ever customer. Would be good to have a bar list. Room service only runs in the day & not in evenings. Location is literally next to a mosque so the 6am wake up comes free. The noise from bathroom on floor above is exceptionally loud, which was unusual.

The location of the hotel is very good, close to sights, close to water, close to the tram - just perfect. Lots of good restaurants and bars close by. The atmosphere of the hotel is very calm, it is well-designed, stylish, and boutique-looking. You feel comfortable after a long day in busy Istanbul.

The spa was confusing, only 20 minutes are free of charge and then we were told it was 25 euro for an additional hour. But it the end, the jacuzzi was cold, the hammam room was not working and they just turned on the steam room when we got there. We only went once even though we stayed for 9 nights. The longer we stayed the more "quirky" things about the hotel we noticed, but in general, it was okay. Staff was helpful even though they seemed confused sometimes. Osman was a very good help to us.

This hotel has amazing location. Even though you may find it weird at first, because the first thing that you see is a gas station. However, with a course of time you realise that all cool cafes and sights are available on foot. Staff in this hotel is very attentive too. They are willing to help. Despite being small, room is cozy and clean. Breakfast is good for the hotel of this type.

We had a street facing room and it used to get very noisy at times due to construction or just the street being a bit busy at times

The staff were so lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and the check in was swift. The location is fantastic. It’s a 3 minute walk to the nearest metro station, lots of cafes and restaurants within a 2 minute walk and Galataport is also less than 5 minutes away. Galata tower was a 15 minute walk. It was easy to access Sultan Ahmet and Taksim by metro. Karakoy is a very vibrant place to stay with lots happening.

The rooms although clean and comfortable were a little on the small side. We booked the standard twin rooms and felt there wasn’t much space to store suitcases or iron. Having said that the service and location more than made up for this and we would stay at Root again.

Cleaning can be improved but overall was really good and definitely recommend

The street is lively even during the curfew - quite a lot of places around are proving to-go services, so you won't stay hungry. The sister-hotel SuB Karakoy has a wine-bar, which I would recommend to try local wines and godlike hummus. Efel as a manager was on top of everything, and was helping me back from the seconds I landed! Since the hotel is new, everything is spot-on and the panoramic window on 8th floor suites is great. The lobby has 4 areas, one of which is with the fireplace for rainy-day-working. Breakfasts are great :)

WiFi connection on 8th floor: videoconferencing may experience some lags (tried to have some work calls). I'd recommend getting to the lobby for the highspeed internet, or use LTE.

the staff were very helpful specially Farid, he helped us a lot and gave us good information.

The location was fantastic, 2 minutes from the Tramp station the T1 line. and you can go for a walk it’s lovely there.
