Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf

We were staying at this hotel many times and therefore, we knew what what we would experience which was great. Most of the staff are very helpful and welcoming and especially the managers. The rooms are great and the resort, beach and Talisa Spa are wonderful.

Firstly, I did expect more for our email communications and unfortunately, we did not receive the replies in time or even not any! I did request for a quiet room from the beginning and we were forced to change our room three times! Unfortunately, our experience at the first step for check-in with the staff was not very pleasant and there was just two managers who really helped us a lot. I believe the resort really needs more buggies for transportations of the guests and it is usually an issue to get a buggy or Abra in time.

Villa 19-01 was great however they class it as a ‘deluxe lagoon view’ however you can’t see the water. It was a 5-8min drive in a buggy / on an abra. The butlers were fantastic and the sundowners were a real treat after a day around the pool. Abras and buggies were fun and you only waited max 10mins for one at any time of the day.

The pool is in desperate need of repair - both our children injured themselves on broken tiles. We chose Jumeirah over other resorts due to the access to the Wild wadi water park so the whole family, particularly our 8 year old little girl were hugely disappointed to discover the park was closed during our stay, evethough the booking confirmation stated the park would be open from 2nd feb. Not only we’re we disappointed, we felt it was poor/false advertising as we had paid a lot of money for something we couldn’t use.

The Butler Adrees from villa 26 made our Holiday. The food is amazing as always. Staff couldn't do more for you. The resort is so clean and almost have too many staff that are all so helpful.

The villa was quite far away and needed to get a buggy or boat from it but that is partially our fault as we booked an inland villa. Next time we would book a villa that was on the seafront to allow better transport around the resort

I can’t describe our stay in words , it was magical. the hospitality, the staff and our butler ( Bea ) were amazing, they truly made everything easy for us.

I only wish the breakfast was better , and there is no water hose inside the bathroom :(

First, I‘d like to mention that the service and kindness of the staff was OUTSTANDING. We also enjoyed the food in various restaurants. As a family, we appreciated the possibility to choose between buffet and a la carte restaurants. The quality and taste was always excellent. And we simply loved this place and its unique architecture and design.

We booked a suite with ocean view and were quite aware that the high standard of this hotel is also reflected in its prices. However, I feel that the supplement charge policy for dinner at the a la carte restaurants is quite intense. Although we already booked halfboard, we paid a considerable surcharge of several hundred Dollars for having a 3 course menu (not the most expensive choices) at two evenings.

Restaurants all excellent quality- but very hard to get reservations! Location amazing and the sea was beautiful. The grounds, waterways and structures are stunning.

Compared to previous stays, the extra hotel rooms added to the Jumeirah beach front, mean that the beach is now super crowded. Rather annoyingly people have taken to putting their towels down pre breakfast and bagging places early….if you arrive any later than 9.30am, you are relegated to the furthest corner (if lucky!) Not what you expect from a luxury hotel. The same for tennis courts ;we managed to secure 1 slot early morning at the end of our holiday! Way too many people sharing ab ever smaller space…

The room was fabulous. Shower/bath area was really well laid out. Good water pressure too! Comfy (huge) bed and sitting area. Nice outdoor area where peacocks and peahens wandered past. The gondola's were a great way to get around the complex and it was really relaxing just floating around. The golf carts were a great way to get around and better if you wanted to go somewhere specific/be dropped exactly where you wanted to be. The grounds are amazingly well kept and the whole lagoon is fantastically well set up. The "cocktail" hour were a really nice add on. Housekeeping were fabulous in replenishing items, as my husband was really ill, so between us we used all the tissues and water really quickly! It was a really good room to be stuck in if you are ill and can't do any sightseeing! Our butler was great in trying to assist with car and flight issues. We would stay here again if we return to Dubai.

The food in the restaurant complex was not as good as we were expecting but the food by the beach was really good value and tasty.

Cannot fault the hotel, every aspect of the hotel was absolutely amazing

The Dar al Masyaf is a wonderful place - serene and quiet whilst having access to all the amenities at the Jumeriah Madinat Souk and all the facilities on offer there. We always enjoy our stays here - the breakfast is excellent and the various dining options are there for you to choose

The price of the various meal options within this resort have increased dramatically since Covid times and it was particularly noticeable. Also, when staying in a Villa at the Dar al Masyaf we believed that it would be better and more in keeping with cost and standard of accommodation if guests had access to a Club Lounge for evening drinks. A drink and a few crisps and nuts doesn't compare well with other "Club Standard" rooms in other hotels which provide more varied nibbles for guests paying for an expensive room.

The setting of the hotel was amazing. The buildings are beautiful and it has the best beach I've found in Dubai. The room was also excellent as was all the food. On site staff were very helpful.

Communication with the hotel prior to arrival to a total, complete nightmare. Shambolic doesn't even begin to describe it. We wanted to arrange beds for our children and book restaurants and kids club. After over 1 hour on hold on the phone, 7 emails, repeated booking.com messages, Facebook Instagram and Twitter messages I eventually gave up. When we arrived they were then surprised at how nothing had been prepared and I had to spend the first few hours of my holiday arguing with people. Ive never had a more unpleasant start to a holiday
