Holiday Inn Express Antrim, an IHG Hotel

Nice simple layout, well placed for Antrim Town (20 min walk) couple of bars and supermarkets all in walking distance. Staff were fantastic, nothing was a problem. Rooms (twin) were a decent size and clean and tidy. Breakfast was spot on, piping hot and you could go back for seconds. poached or fried egg if you ask for it no problem. plenty of space to eat in its big dinning area.

No real dislikes to be honest, just observations. Make sure you take a debit/credit card. We were only allowed to pay by card not with cash. Don’t know if that’s just a local policy. it wasn’t the end of the world but if you didn’t have a card it might be a problem. Our stay was mid-week but it felt like a weekend rate.

We absolutely loved it. Hotel was nice and quiet, spotlessly clean throughout. Double room with sofa bed was perfect for us as a family of 4 with 2 kids (3&8). Breakfast was beautiful both mornings - self service and plenty of options. The location is fantastic. Loads of shops, supermarkets and restaurants all within walking distance. About 50 mins to giants causeway, Carrick a rede rope bridge, dark hedges etc. 5 mins from Antrim castle gardens. The young men who checked us in on reception and looked after us for dinner were fantastic. So so friendly even with the children. I was sorry I didn’t get their names but they really are an asset to the place.Couldn’t fault a thing and would highly recommend this hotel to those looking to explore Antrim:-) Thank you so much

Hotel was spotless clean staff where very friendly location was very good . Breakfast was included in our deal and was great variety of food each morning. Had dinner 2 nights at the hotel food was excellent. Staff went above and beyond to help guests they where all so friendly and very welcoming.

We had a family room which consisted of a double bed and a sofa bed. The double bed was lovely nice and comfortable however the pull out bed was not suitable for 2 children age 8 and 12 they both found it very uncomfortable.

Big and clean room. The bar and restaurant is excellent and beverage selection great. Tons of space for parking and there are a lot of options to eat also around the hotel without the need to take the car and go to Antrim center. The building is well maintained and modern, strongly recommended

The lady in the breakfast area was removing the empty plates on our table too fast, even when we where still eating with the dishes not yet empty. There was no one in the breakfast area, no need to make that pressure on us to send us away. Please take it easy in the breakfast area

When we went to get the keys, the young man behind reception was lovely, he was so helpful and his customer service was amazing. We left the hotel to do some shopping and went for a meal, when we came back the same man offered us a fan, as it was so hot in the rooms. I loved the ice machine and vending machines, these were not available in Watford holiday express but by goodness did we need them especially the ice machine, because of the heat. Breakfast was amazing, the coffee was absolutely gorgeous and I liked that potato bread was an option, also the lady that was clearing away people tables, even tho the table was clean she came over and gave it another clean before we sat down to eat, during these times with covid still in our head this was something i really appreciated. My niece is 11 and not a meat eater but she Loved the baked beans, when i asked the lady the brand, she went and found out for me. We had needed 2 extra pillows the night we stayed and housekeeping brought them to us, and the girl again was lovely.I have stayed in other hotel chains and I thought Watford holiday express was great but Antrim Holiday Inn Express surpassed Watford by a mile. Both my sisters and my niece agreed we want to go back again. The staff in this hotel are amazing and a credit to IHG

There was no built in air conditioning like Watford, but we opened a window and we were grand,otherwise no complaints at all

Location and Cab booking facility is good

The breakfast menu is same for the whole week and it was really boring to eat the same breakfast for whole week. I stayed for 2 weeks in 2 seperate bookings. I got bored of breakfast after 3 days and ordered the breakfast from outside. Please change the breakfast menu so that people staying for a week can have some different varieties. Else booking without breakfast is better.

The friendly welcome from staff - Mark and Ryan who really made my stay excellent. They couldn't do enough to help me and other customers which I observed from the lounge area. That was at reception desk. They also served drinks at bar, sorted out problems in rooms and served evening meals. Cleared up tables and made sure diners were looked after. I saw their work on 2 days. They have SOME job description!! I was very impressed and will return here in the autumn. Thank you for the personal attention to detail.

Very little, but phone in my room did not work. Nor hairdryer but this was sorted quickly by female receptionist ( I didn't get her name). My only criticism would be that signs stating to order drinks and evening meals at bar should be prominently displayed.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. On check in told us about football teams staying and if any noise, Don’t hesitate to call reception. It had everything I needed for a room to rest in for the night while working away. Iron in room is good and ice machine is handy

The carpets are quite grubby and need replacing. Smokers at front door and my room was above them so smelt all the smoke when window was open.

I needed some extra glasses for us to drink our whiskey, which we had with us. Staff gave us the glasses when requested. That was much appreciated! At breakfast, I needed a tray - simple thing and I understand they are not normally put out for breakfast. I was given one when I requested. That was our first visit to a Holiday Inn in many years and those little things made our stay perfect!

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and fresh and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. Quite a few family members came to the hotel to visit us on two of the nights of our stay, some were children and hotel staff made everyone feel very welcome. We were seated in a spacious area in the dining room on both nights. Had quizzes and drinks and great fun. Thank you to all the staff for accommodating us as guests but also family members who were not residents. We always stay in Holiday Inn Antrim and have missed this during the last two years of Covid. Delighted to be able to stay there again and look forward to many more stays in the future.

We tried to book direct but got better value with Booking.com. Would like price match direct so that we can benefit from points and free night stays please.
