The Derby Hotel

We absolutely loved the bar in the property the value for money with the drinks is amazing and not to mention it was located across the road to a spoons! Not to mention the short walk into the town center and the comfy beds.

The rooms where quite warm in the heat with no fan or aircon to cool yourself down and the other people staying in the property where yelling very loudly and stomping up hallway so we could hear everything at 3 in the morning witch wasn’t the most fun. Other than that the rooms where extremely comfy and the staff where amazing!

Everything was great - friendly staff, very easy check-in and check out, and clean room. In addition, despite the warnings on the website about noise from the bar, I really couldn't hear anything from two stories above, so wasn't a problem.

If I *have* to nit-pick here - the lack of glasses in the room was a little annoying - has to rely on refilling my used bottles of water, but other than that, no complaints.

Superb effort - Room - Really good with every effort for the same you expect from a expensive hotel. Suitable plugs for USB Adapters. TV with all free view channels tune.

Bed sadly, it was soft and slightly wobbly, I am large person. The Noise from outside at 4am didn't help. Double glazing is required. Of course the elephant in the room there is a bar underneath, not noticeable until 10:30pm

It was very cheap & very central to the bars, very lively pub on a night which was good. Very basic rooms but clean. You could make yourself some toast or cereal if you wanted which was a nice touch.

It would have been nice if there was a hair dryer in the room, I struggle to sleep so it was maybe a bit too noisy , but it was a Friday night & we were prewarned,

Ideal location for my visit Near the railway station and handy for visiting my family and friends. Comfortable room also a residents lounge and use of a kitchen 😊

No staff available at check out. I wanted to ask if I could leave my suit case at the hotel as my train wasn’t till 13:42 check out was at 10 am no staff around ? Otherwise all good 👍

Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival, gave a detailed tour of the premises, and if I required anything to let them know. There were workmen in on the second day, however, they were respectful of their work and the guests and I could not overly hear them working. The location is central and there is plenty of parking facilities close by that are free from certain times. The communal lounge was clean and there was plenty of options if required. The room was clean and with facilities as listed in the description. Being in a central location, there was limited noise from outside which was good.

There was nothing that I didnt like that would prevent me from staying, the mattress wasn't the best quality if I were to get really particular, saying that I still slept well :)

Clean comfortable living in a central location. Mr. Gary, the owner, takes personal interest in clients"/ customers' well being. The property has a band of dedicated staffs. I can mention the name of one of them-" Amelia " . She was so helpful, one must appreciate. I have no hesitance to recommend this property to friends and associates. Smoke permeates to the upper floor from the bar and noise till late at night may cause some disturbance but cannot blame, the bar is full of happy lively people, noise is side effect to be tolerated.

Central location, use of kitchen facilities clean room nice shower in ensuite Friendly staff Nice bar, weatherspoons opposite so good for breakfast. Chinese and Indian restaurants next door.

No parking but has car park opposite which is free after 3pm Can be noisy at weekends ( we were warned) but had all calmed down by 12.30.

Nice location nice room

checking in was a farse as only one person behind the very busy bar trying to do everything . Saturday night after midnight our room was vibrating with the music from the band that was playing in the function room on the floor below the bedrooms

The lady who showed us to the room was fab! She said was friendly and professional at all times. When we went to the bar in the evening she always made an extra effort to bring our drinks to the table for us. All the staff were amazing from the bar to the door and I would defo come again!

My fob wouldn’t allow me access to the main door but that’s a technical issue and it happens
