This wasn't an expensive stay so we appreciated the variety and amount of breakfast available and the helpful table service. Our room at the top of the hotel was slightly difficult to access with steps just inside the well sprung door but the lift made getting there very easy. The very wide staircase made an acceptable alternative. The room had a small window but there was a good view over the bay and we were well above any traffic noise. Although there was street parking available, we welcomed the use of the hotel car park. We always found a space for our quite large car although I suspect that the hotel was nowhere near full. There were a variety of eating places and pubs nearby.

The small ensuite shower-room needed smartening up. Not at all a big job, but the sealant looked tired with some gaps - why wouldn't you replace it? The soap dispenser over the basin was inoperative. Another easy job to fix or replace rather than supply a freestanding one which wasn't new and quickly ran out. We were surprised to find that the previous occupiers had evidently not reported that the shower waste was almost blocked. It nearly overflowed but fortunately this was fairly quickly remedied once reception had been advised. The door was difficult to close and although I was able to manage it, and it probably wouldn't be an issue for most people, the WC in our particular room was a bit cramped for my large frame.

Firstly that it is a Dog friendly Hotel. I only found two in Morcambe & I'm glad I chose the clarendon. I have stayed in dog friendly hotels before & the rooms have been shabby & smelly & not fit for a dog never mind a paying customer. The clarendon dog friendly room exceeded my expectations. Lovely staff on Reception pleasant, polite & helpful. Lovely single room, lovely crisp clean bedding. Bed was really comfy & bigger than a single I don't know what type of mattress it was but I want one. Decor was very nice, wardrobe, Desk with drawers & Mirror & stool, Hairdryer & drink making facilities. & Armchair. En suite bathroom, nice & clean had towels, Hand soap & shower gel. The selection at Breakfast was very good something for everyone the Lady who was looking after dining room was very attentive to everyone & it was very busy. You are given a form to select what you want on your cooked breakfast, which was very tasty. Thanks to the chef for the Best tasting scrambled egg I've ever eaten .while that's cooking you can help yourself to coffee & Tea, fruit juice, croissants, toast, Jam, the yoghurt with fruit was delicious, there is also a selection of cereal. The Chef even cooked a sausage specially for my dog.😍 Thank you. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Clarendon Hotel. I will come back again - when the lift is working!

Unfortunately the lift wasn't working and I was on the 3rd floor with a dog & a rucksack. There were a lot of stairs to climb, I would have liked to have been told about the out of service lift when booking as I have arthritis. Reception did look to see if they could find an alternative room for me, however nothing was available.

The room had an amazing view, of Morecambe Bay, from the window and I watched an immensely beautiful sunset from it during one evening of my stay. The bedroom area had pretty wallpaper and a nice, co-ordinating, picture on one of the walls. The bed was comfortable and there was a hospitality-tray with a good kettle. There was a long mirror, along with decent furniture. The ensuite area was very clean, with nice, ceramic wall-tiles. The sink was a practical size and the toilet worked well. Breakfast was delicious and there was a good system for ordering it. The hotel was in an excellent location, being within easy walking distance from The Platform and The Alhambra. There were plenty of bus-stops, nearby, as well as restaurants. Staff were courteous !

The water, from the shower, was very hot and I could not get it to a more comfortable temperature. Also the floor of the shower-cabinet was very slippery !

I took a detour off the M6 for a stopover here. Much better value than motorway stopovers. Very comfortable hotel with large lounge to have a drink and relax in the evening. Bar was closed & almost deserted by 9.30 by which time other residents seemed to have turned in but that suited me just fine. Very helpful receptionist. comfortable room/bed. Right opposite the Southern part of Morecambe bay so able to walk & swim before another long drive. free parking appreciated.

No air con which is probably rarely a problem except in this heat. The restaurant was not open the evening I arrived ( maybe seasonal) and nearby facilities limited.

Excellent value for money. Good breakfast. Clean. Everything worked. Would return again. Excellent bar underneath hotel.

Having to have your credit/debit card pre authorised on arrival at the hotel, and signing a waiver. But can understand this, as you'll get idiot customers smoking cannabis, stealing room items, breaking things, dirtying decor etc. So the hotel must have some insurance against the customer, why should the hotel pay for customers damage !! We had the room inspected before we left, taking nothing to chance.

Classic look with modern touches we're needed, pet friendly nice staff. Good breakfast. Lift. Parking with lighting and security cameras. Clean.

Little bit on pricey side at 180 for 2 rooms for 1 night but it was Easter Saturday. Borders the West End of Morcambe which is frankfully rough, lots of police at night up and down and shady characters like a lot of former glory seaside towns :( but don't let that put you off it's perfect for the prom and beach in the daytime and not too far from town, on the whole I have seen improvements albeit slowly since last visited Morcambe but perfect for short stay pet friendly accommodation. Windows/Handles need replacing, no toothpaste etc only wall mounted shower gel, no fridge and could do with fan/ac as too hot , nice view.

Car parking - easy access. Lovely small hotel with Bar. Clean comfortable room with nice en-suite. I had a sea view which was lovely. Exceptional staff who were so helpful. I am disabled and they couldn’t do enough to help. Nice bar lounge area. Breakfast was wonderful. Everything you could want. The cooked breakfast was fabulous. Served in the nice bright dinning room. Freshly cooked to my order could not have been better. I have stayed at a few hotels on Morecambe prom and this is by far the best

Everything was great

Breakfast was very good, you are able to chose your breakfast items, also has cornflakes and fruit available as well as toast, tea and coffee.

Parking was an issue, no spaces were available as we returned to the property in the afternoon, a car was parked in the disabled bay that didn't have a Blue Badge and the receptionist wasn't interested in the slightest, was absolutely no help in getting us some assistance to free up the disabled bay as my companion has mobility issues. In fact the receptionist was quite rude. This was incredibly disappointing. The lift wasn't working, which again was a major issue as my companion has mobility issues and this was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel for our stay. Again, very disappointing that this information wasn't given at the time of the booking.

Check-in was quick and easy. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom furniture was good. There was a bedside-table with a lamp and socket by the bed. There was a hospitality-tray, in the room, and cleanliness was good. Both the bedroom and ensuite areas were warm. The toilet and shower worked well. Breakfast was delicious, on both days of my stay, with plenty on the plate. The hotel was in an excellent location !

The view, from the window, was of a wall which was part of another building. The room would have looked better with a picture on one of the walls. The ensuite sink was tiny and the glass shelf was over the toilet thus making teeth-cleaning rather awkward !

Breakfast very good spoilt for choice, room very good (Single) everything you needed, bed comfortable, plenty of hot water for shower. Ten minute walk to the train station and the Midland Hotel, bus stop across the road from the hotel taking you to the station etc and the bus stops outside the Aldi taking you back to the hotel if needed. Hotel very well located with car parking.
