August 2023

This was our first family trip vacation. I absolutely loved staying here, the bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was big and clean. The staff was quick on requesting items such as an iron and hair dryer. The location of the place was perfect with the city centre and you could request a map. I loved how the Inn was separated from the pub to our rooms and it was well decorated, the TV was a good size although sometimes the WiFi wouldn't work, the towels and hygienic products was lovely.

The hair dryer was dirty and dusty so I wouldn't recommend using it, the staff wasn't very well on keeping up with the housekeeping as they didn't give fresh bed sheets, the water was always boiling hot so it was hard having a shower although weirdly the room was quite cold and the breakfast wasn't amazing as it wasn't made from scratch and had less vegetarian options! The last downsider was there was dog poop around the field leading the back of our room and there needs to be more lights added as when you come back from your tourist attractions it gets quite dark.

The Inn has lots of character, there's a great choice of beers and spirits etc, the room was very clean and decor was inkeeping with the building, all staff were very helpful and nothing was a problem for them, finally the full English breakfast was excellent and a great way to end our stay.

Having stayed previously at this Inn we recall a more varied menu from the restaurant, the dishes we chose were however very nice but the menu did seem a bit limited. This isn't to be taken as a complaint under this heading, more a case of feed back for the Inn, we will be returning again sometime.

The Charlcombe inn was really lovely. the staff were very helpful and polite. The rooms were beautiful and perfect for a one night stay for us. The location was great, outside the city of bath, but only a few minutes drive, so easy to get to. Ample parking. Breakfast was very good and service was again great! We stayed over a Sunday night, the food stopped at 5pm but the staff had already recommended a pub in another village Wick, which was a 10 minute drive away. I would definitely stay here again.

Just a shame the food stopped at 5pm on a Sunday as would have liked to have eaten there. Also a few cobwebs and hairs around the bathroom in our room.

Everything, from the moment we stepped foot in the place, the young girl with the glasses behind the bar greeted us with a smile and cheered us up after 6hr long drive, she couldn't have been more helpful. Our dog was with us and soon sniffed out the doggy goody box left in the room for him, blankets, treats, bowl etc, he was straight at home. There are so many nice touches around the place but, don't take my word for it, go see for yourself!

The shower is too close to the shower door really, the floor got soaked but, it's not even a complaint, just an observation.

Enjoyed our stay from start to finish, all staff were so kind and helpful. Food was exceptional, so unique and tasy. Nothing was too much trouble, very welcoming, and the room was beautiful and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the onsuit bathroom was lovely. Was lucky enough to meet the manager, Jo, who was oozing passion for the hotel which showed in how well run it was and how much of a lovely friendly atmosphere it had. We will be returning as we were very sad our stay was over. You all must be very proud of what you have all achieved . Kind regards Becky and Ant xx

Wasn't there longer stay had come to an end.

Amazing setting, beautiful rooms and we got a free upgrade. The room was beautiful and spacious, as was the bathroom and had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the included breakfast was delicious. Free parking and close enough to the centre of Bath to take a taxi, bus or drive in. Right next to the park and ride also. Would highly recommend. We had to take our baby at the last minute and the staff were very accommodating and we also requested a free early check in in advance. Perfect

Room was lovely, bright and spacious! Very clean too. Love the fact that they were away from the pub in its own little courtyard. Perfect location. Bed was very comfy! Slept very well! Usually I find it hard to sleep in unfamiliar places but I slept like a baby! Super comfy. Breakfast was very yummy, there was a range of juices, cereal on a breakfast table but then also options of full English, avocado & salmon etc. We both had a full English which was very generous, and tasty. The lady at breakfast was so friendly and helpful too! The gardens looked lovely, we stayed in early Feb but can imagine its lovely to sit out there in the summer, and right next to the racecourse if your into that type of thing! Would deffo stay again!!!

Only thing was that you could hear the tap run/toilet flush/shower in the room next door, the side gate to enter the courtyard was quite loud too, as you have to slam it shut. Also, there didn't seem to be much choice on the evening menu in the pub, but this wouldn't put us off to stay again!

Loved the comfortable clean room and the location near the park and ride for easy access to Bath city centre. All the staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We had an evening meal at the restaurant which was excellent. The inclusive breakfast was also very good and the dining area was extremely pleasant. All in all great value for money!

The shower room was very clean and surprisingly spacious however the water was a little cool . Took a while to heat up. We didn’t mind this as it was very hot weather.

Really great location. Compact room. We didn't bring our dog but very doggy friendly even at breakfast. Bed was very hard as were pillows. My mother couldn't use the shower as it was completely flat and very slippery. It was an amazing shower however which had a big fixed head and a small handheld head. Great parking. It was visually clean but they not to look too closely! Great TV with proper menu to choose a programme which has been lacking in hotels recently. Most excellent breakfast and willing to put an egg on the vegan option to make it a veggie option.

The staff are wonderful. So welcoming, friendly and helpful. I didn't realise the pub was shut until 12 but the lovely girl behind the bar had no problem about me coming inside to wait an hour for my sister. Nick ordered us a cab at night. It took a long time to come but he phoned several times and stayed behind beyond his shift to make sure they came. Then in the morning I asked for avocado with my vegan breakfast and again there was no problem. The rooms are huge, beautifully decorated and are like little cottages rather than bland hotel rooms. The room rate is incredible at under £100 with breakfast thrown in. It is slightly out of town but parking is a nightmare in Bath anyway and it is just half a mile from the park and ride with buses every 10 mins. The Christmas decor extended to wreaths on every door of the accommodation which I thought was a cute touch and the room and bathroom was immaculately clean so well done to the housekeeping staff..

Only that the path from the main building to the rooms was very icy. Apart from that I couldn't fault anything. This is the second time I've stayed here and I would definitely come again and recommend to my friends and family.
