The bed was nice and comfy room was clean would’ve been nice to have box of tissues in room. Very quiet no noise from other guests. Staff very welcoming especially the lady serving the breakfast on Saturday 2nd September

Breakfast wasn’t as good as it used to be seemed like produce was cheap. We’ve stayed a lot over the last five years so see the difference from when it was a smaller establishment. Also the breakfast room was very crowded seemed like the tables were very close together and the lovely lady serving breakfast was run off her feet. She did an excellent job serving everyone but probably could benefit from having another staff member to help her. I would stay again but wouldn’t opt for breakfast. This is not a complaint just saying what we noticed.

Really comfortable and quiet, just off the beaten track. Stylish. Cosy lounge with range of books and games. Good choice of drinks made the lounge a lovely spot to relax in the evenings, watching the wild rabbits coming on to the lawns to feed. Pretty grounds with outdoor seating in well kept garden. Easy to access main road for days out. Plenty of parking space available. The staff were all very attentive, friendly and determined to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast had an excellent range of choices. My husband's lactose intolerance was handled well. Dinner offered a range of pub style meals. A good base for exploring the Battle area.

There is very little to say here! Perhaps more vegetable based ranges on the dinner menu. We were there for a week, pub grub might pall a bit for some. Road signs for hotel turning could be a bit further away from the entrance to give more warning of approach!

The ambience of the hotel, it was welcoming and the staff made you feel at ease. Grounds were excellent to walk around as great countryside environment. Well run family establishment with adequate parking and excellent bar and restaurant, chill out zone in beer garden most conducive for my well being. The room was excellent and very comfortable. I would recommend this establishment to everyone I know 😎

There was nothing to dislike, everything was perfect from my point of view 😎

peaceful, good room with balcony, great shower good breakfast, very accommodating staff beautiful setting and gardens

flimsy en-suite toilet seat in room: no coffee machine, only instant. in room: tv couldn’t be watched from armchairs due to room configuration. move tv to wall on bracket so can be angled for viewing from armchairs and/or bed? Lounge/bar, very pleasant but perhaps add a sofa in place of a couple of the chairs for a bit of extra comfort and seating variety?

Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. Genetal feeling of the hotel was warm and welcoming. A good night's sleep. Garden a real delight and the pagoda to was just pleasant to sit down to relax under. Would certainly stay here again when in the area.

Lights left on 24/7 when no obvious need. First night we waited too long to be served in the restaurant but did improve during our stay.

We had our meal outside on the patio which was nice not to be cooped up in the small restaurant area, service was good along with the gardens but the menu was a bit limited for a well ranked Hotel such as this.

The room was nice with an excellent super king-size but the ventilation doesn't work by having a full length glass Juliet balcony with a roller blind as there is no other way of getting air in the room. When we walked in it was stuffy as there was no small window quarterlight to vent the room....other wise good but overpriced at £175 for the night...........

Lovely.country house very conveniently situated just off A21. Staff very friendly and helpful, food was good, both evening meal and breakfast. Nice beer garden and cosy lounge bar. Bedroom was clean with toiletries and good quality bedding and towels.

We had a compact double room and it is quite small, however they do warn you of this. I would say it is well worth paying extra for a superior room.

The Claverton is ideally situated with beautiful views. The room we stayed in was gorgeous and very comfortable. The staff were amazing and super friendly even when faced with rude, entitled customers. We had breakfast included with our stay and also had dinner one evening. The food was excellent and the service was top notch.

Just a couple of minor decorating issues. Some marks and scratches on walls, a bit of duck tape visible behind the TV.

Staff friendly and polite. Food good and hot. Room very nice. Beer garden a nice extra.

The service could have been better. Felf like they were short staffed at times. The same person was manning reception and trying to operate the bar in the beer garden at the same time. At one of our evening meals we waited 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive.

Stayed at the family room. Everything clean and very comfortable beds. Separate bedrooms, a nice lounge area, private garden area. An extraordinary amount of space. We only stayed one night but wish we'd had more! Perfect for a stopover after a long day in Hastings and trip to Battle Abbey.

It was pretty hot in all the rooms. A fan was provided which was good though!
