The White Rock Hotel

breakfast was good , well priced with a discount and no long wait , open 7-11.00 so that was good , no need for an early rise . great location on the front , not to far from old hastings and 10 minute walk to train station , room was a good size , tea , coffee , water supplied , so all good .

Wi Fi signal was poor on the terrace .

We had a sea view large bright room with plenty of storage and a large bed which was very comfy. Large bathroom with great shower and clean towels every day. Very good breakfast with lots of choice. Dinner was good too. Fresh bottle of water every day. Location is fantastic opersite the pier so between St leonards and Hastings and withen walking distance to everywhere if you are abled bodied. There was some evening entertainment....check with reception whats on.

Some noise at night as on a main road. Only had one key to our room and did not have the choice of room service which was done every morning but that was fine for us. Had some confusion about teabags which meant we ended up buying our own. More funny then wrong. A small amount of mould in the shower was reported.

All of the staff we're lovely and friendly!! They couldn't of done more for us and we're extremely helpful it felt like a personal experience without the feeling of intrusion!!! The service was amazing, the room was perfect and a great size. The bed was very comfortable, we slept really well. The staff we associated most with became more like friends and we are looking forward to returning soon. It's a shame we had to leave as we would of loved to stay longer. Best hotel we have stayed in, in Hastings!!! We would definitely recommend to family and friends. Thank you for making ours tay pleasurable and memorable!!!

Having to leave, we wish we had a longer stay. ***** hotel. There was nothing we didn't like.

My bedroom had a side window as well as a back one (I couldn't afford a room with a sea view) so I got the afternoon sun. I could relax downstairs any time I wanted. 20% off breakfast for residents - good breakfasts! Large sun terrace out at the front. Friendly and helpful staff. Dogs are allowed into the downstairs area (and in some rooms, I think).

The bar service is pretty slow. The upstairs corridor carpets, and the stairways, are not kept very clean. No obvious disabled access to the hotel. I ordered soup one evening, plus pitta bread with hummus, and both were tasteless so they swapped those for something else.

It was clean and tidy although could do with. Little TLC in places. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Unfortunately on our visit the main lift was out of order and we had to use the small service lift. The evening menu was very limited for choice, and the food was just about Ok. The biggest down side was the noise from the main road out side our window, which was deafening at lot of the time so we slept with the doors and windows closed, a shame really as this will deter us from returning.

it’s right on the seafront, and reasonable walking distance from the old town, the centre of Hastings and St Leonard’s. Front desk staff were lovely and very helpful. We needed to get a taxi out to Battle for a wedding and they gave us the number of one they personally recommended and we had no issues getting there or back thanks to their help. If you’re lucky enough you will also get checked in by the hotel cat Frankie. Remember it’s a pet friendly hotel so if you don’t want to be around animals don’t stay here (I personally had no issue with this). Also the hotel rooms were very clean and the shower had amazing water pressure.

Not really anything I disliked, but in the hot months the rooms could use a fan.

Room was excellent, clean and very comfortable. We had a Juliette balcony which provided great views of the beach/sea. Breakfast was great, the 20% discount was a wonderful extra. Snacks and evening meal were also good quality. Location made it easy to access Hastings or St Leonard’s when taking a stroll. All staff were very helpful and friendly which adds to our experience of staying at this wonderful hotel. We will definitely be returning.

Can’t think of any negatives issues, the hotel provided everything you could wish for.

Excellent location (apart from the road noise which was outside of the hotel’s control). We were travelling with our dog (extremely quiet and very clean). He seemed to charm all the staff and guests - even the ones who did not have a dog. By walking around the corner and up the hill, you have access to vast areas of grass which was ideal for us. Hotel was very clean, our room was freshly decorated with an excellent en-suite. ****One extra bonus was a portable air conditioning chiller unit which kept the room at a pleasant cool temperature***. The staff were excellent - friendly and welcoming but professional.

The only slight downside was the road noise. But the hotel is situated on the main road, overlooking the beach. So I am sure, most guests will overlook the traffic noise in order to get a front line hotel and a room with a direct sea view.

We stayed in a room with a sea view, which was a good size, with a roomy bathroom. It was reasonably quiet, so nice to be able relax in the room after being out all day. Staff were friendly and efficient. We liked being able to walk into town along the promenade. Being able to park the car in the hotel car park was a relief, although it was a bit fraught in terms of space.

The chairs by the little table in the room were surprisingly uncomfortable. Our bathroom window did not shut properly, so traffic noise was more obvious than it should have been.

Lovely building, well appointed. Room spotlessly clean, staff very friendly and helpful.

The communal areas were looking a little tired and not as well presented as the rooms. The Bat / Restaurant could do with extra staff as there weren’t enough to serve the Bar and the Restaurant. Kitchen seemed to be in confusion with long waits for simple things like toast. Cooked breakfasts obviously microwaved as certain things had the texture if rubber!! Overall acceptable though.
