Senlac Guesthouse

it was very clean and comfortable. Diana was friendly.

It was advertised as having breakfast at the hotel on this website and on the hotel’s own website but breakfast is no longer offered. This should be made clear as it was a big part of why we booked it as we didn’t want to have to go out for breakfast with a young child.

The room where we stayed was very comfortable, a decent size, kept exceptionally clean, and it had all the amenities we could wish for and then some, including a mini fridge, iron and ironing board. The guesthouse itself is close both to the train station and the old town/ seafront, so everything we wanted to see and everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance.

Unfortunately, the room where we stayed was placed under street level, which meant we could hear all the noises from outside (loud cars, drunk people) at night, and that we had to keep the blinds closed most of the time to ensure our privacy.

The room was spacious and comfortable, the lady that greeted us was very friendly. The bathroom looked like it had been refurbished in the last couple of years and was to a very high standard. We were only there for one night but would easily come back again if we were in Hastings. Great central location also.

The doorbell on the outside door wasn't working so we had call the mobile number to get attention, but that was a very minor thing.

the room was very clean and the reception from Dianna? was friendly helpful and informative. good location for the town and although parking was a bit convoluted it was straight forward and reasonably priced. nice but small bathroom and good shower. the room had a small 'beer fridge' and fan and a nice model tv. comfy bed

the bed although comfortable was a bit low down and we would have preferred net curtains as the room is overlooked by other properties.

Room was Perfect & Very Clean! Beds were very comfortable! Very Homely Enviroment.

We were on the top floor which was 4 flights of stairs . I am disabled & was travelling with 2 grandchildren they had to help carry suitcases up & down for me. We were told we could of requested a lower floor family room but booking .com didn't give the option or contact number until I had booked & paid. I feel it was a booking.com problem not a Senlac House problem. We Would certainly book Senlac Guest House again but would book direct & not through booking.com & request a lower level.

Was greeted with a very warm welcome and felt safe as soon as I entered. I paid for the cheapest room, which was small, but very well presented and equipped. Was not expecting many amenities, but was pleasantly surprised with a TV, Mini Fridge, Kettle with a selection of tea and coffee and Iron.

The neighbourhood is noisy at night with drunken parties from the nearby pubs. Very little the Guesthouse can do about it, though. Bed linen and towels are not changed on a daily basis.

The room is lovely. It's very close to the city centre.

The booking PIN code doesn't work on the door so we pressed the doorbell a few times. There was no response from the door so we weren't sure if the staff heard us. Luckily a staff came down and greeted us then they said 'you were very impatient'. They checked my name and said that I have put the same name twice (my first name and last name are very similar) so I said 'its not the same' and they replied 'still very similar'. It was a little bit awkward with the staff - it was lovely in rest.

Clean, excellent location

Booked a room with private bathroom but Bathroom was outside the room !! which wasn’t clear on the booking instructions.

It was immaculately clean, The room was very well appointed and everything was working. You can't fault the bathroom facilities (even though it was a shared one). It was new and spotless at all times.

My only problem was the location of the room, at the top of the house, I understand that double rooms are more profitable so they are more accessible but as an habitual solo traveller just for a change I'd like not to be thought of (accommodation wise) as an after thought. This is also because I have a degree of problems with my mobility ( I managed but being on a lower floor would have been a real bonus) I really like this guesthouse it's in a brilliant central location and as said it is impeccably presented. Maybe next time I'll try to see if there are other rooms available.

Great location, really central for the town just minutes walk away. Our room (no 2 on ground floor) was much better and bigger than we expected, with great hot shower and amenities in the room. Glad we were in that room as we had tons of stuff and had not looked forward to carrying it upstairs.

The pillows - very flat, need replacing. To be fair, we didn't ask the host to give us extra ones, perhaps we should have done so. Would have been nice to have had breakfast in the guesthouse, but the place we were directed to was just round the corner, and it had lovely food and friendly staff. It would not have been much fun going there if it was raining though. We had to pay for parking in the daytime but being so central I guess that was to be expected and the host gave very clear information about this before and during our stay.
