The location and the pub was beautiful. The food was delicious and there were real ales at the bar. The room was was comfortable and had everything we needed. The parking was fine; there was plenty of space in the pub car park. The breakfast was rather good actually. They had red berries on the buffet in addition to a full welsh. Would have loved to have had the time to explore the area more.

This is more of a general comment on Cardiff accommodation across the board. I find the prices have been massively affected by the cost of living crisis, and in addition, I find I can't afford to stay anywhere near Cardiff when the rugby is on or there is any major event at the millenium stadium.

This is the second time we've stayed here. We were in a different room this time and it was equally as lovely as the previous room. There was a fridge in the room with fresh milk and oat milk in it for the tea and coffee provided. The bed was huge and very comfortable and after the pub has closed it's a very peaceful area. Breakfast was gorgeous, we were there for 3 nights and the eggs were perfect every morning. We had dinner in the restaurant on 2 evenings and it was very tasty. The Inn has a car park, so we were able to park close to our accommodation

There is nothing at all that we disliked. However if you have walking difficulties you'd need to book the room on the ground floor as the rooms are in a beautiful old building and consequently the stairs are quite narrow.

There are only 3 rooms in the building we stayed in, it was nice and quiet. There was a large wardrobe and the toiletries and towels in the bathroom were nicely presented, they had also provided a couple of boxes of tissues. We were pleasantly surprised to discover a small fridge with some drinking water in it and some fresh milk for the tea and coffee (the owner told us later that he supplies fresh milk because he dislikes UHT milk in his own tea and coffee). We stayed for 3 nights and had a superb breakfast each morning. I'm pleased I took their advice and booked an evening meal in advance, the restaurant is very popular. Our meal was so tasty that we booked for the following evening too, that meal was also extremely good. The staff were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When I was originally booking the room I was concerned about the check-in time because we were going to a gig in Cardiff on the first night and wouldn't get to the hotel until well after the check-in time. However when I mentioned my problem they replied swiftly and arranged a self check-in which went very smoothly. Parking was nice and close to the entrance to the accommodation. We will definitely be booking again next year when we're back in Cardiff.

There was nothing to dislike, however because it's a conversion the stairs are quite steep which may be a problem for some people.

To say that accommodation and place itself where amazing? It's an understatement Room was great, serving, food and drinks selection was wonderful, atmosphere was really warm, friendly and a lot of customer care. I do recommend the rainbow trout in bacon and their desert selection..truly stands out What I appreciated and will always remember fondly is that management works side by side with staff members and that says a lot about the atmosphere and how great everything was. You don't see this often nowadays and I hope this never changes! They really are great people and a dedicated team All in all I recommend the full experience! Thank you Gwaelod Inn for a unforgettable experience xxxx

My partner and I had a one night stay and we couldn't have asked for better. On arrival the young lady at the bar and the woman who checked us in were both exceptionally helpful. The room was lovely with the perfect size and temperature but for me it was the fabulous bathroom that sealed the deal! Everything was done with wonderful professionalism and the little touches (proper milk with the tea/coffee things) went a long way to cementing our view that the place was just wonderful. Dinner in their restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced, I'm only sorry that we were too tired to venture down to the pub for a drink because I would have very much liked to. Thank you once again to all the staff who helped us during our stay. This property is a lovely place and for the location (20 mins from central Cardiff) you couldn't ask for better!

This is a beautiful hotel and pub tucked away in a quiet tranquil area but still very close to Cardiff. We loved our stay here, the staff were amazing and we made lots of new friends as so many locals came to the pub. The food was absolutely delicious and very good value for money. There was even beer that was brewed up the road from the spring water from the hotel!! We will be returning for the cider festival in September. Thank you.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about our stay here.

This is a super quaint & friendly village pub with 3 delightful rooms to stay in (1 on the groundfloor & 2 up some rather tight stairs). The rooms are comfortable and warm and our room, number 2, had a lovely bath with a skylight so you could see the stars. The food at the pub downstairs was delicious and so much on offer for a village pub, they really do have a fantastic chef!

I adored this place and it was exactly what we were looking for for our 1 night stay but to my preference the mattress on our bed was a little too soft and the room was almost too warm. We couldn't crack the skylight window too much as it rained during the night.

Clean, traditional style (eg wood furniture) but everything is new and modern, comfortable, lots of electrical outlets, good wifi, spacious room.

The restuarant/bar is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays - I didn't appreciate this until after I had booked the room. Not an issue for me as I was going out for dinner anyway, but if I had been counting on the place for dinner I would have had to cancel after booking and look for somewhere else.

Stayed here for the night, following a family wedding. Staff were friendly and the room was clean, a good size and perfect for our needs. Location is beautiful and we were also able to park behind the Inn. Oh and the breakfast was fabulous! All in all, good value and a pleasant stay.

The TV seemed to have a connection issue (kept turning itself off) - however, we were out for the evening, so wasn't really an issue. Reported on departure, so sure it has been resolved.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant and pub was amazing. The food was very, very good (the best we had in the UK). We didn't need to find a place for dinner when the best restaurant is at the Inn. The breakfast was outstanding. Did I mention how nice the staff was? They could not have been nicer. It is nice there is parking behind the Inn. Highly recommended!

I am coming up with nothing. I can't even think of a nit to pick.
