The staff where friendly and welcoming. As could be expected from a newly opened hotel, it was very clean. The room was ok for size but I did notice how quiet the room was, absolutely no sound from outside on the busy street. It's a great central location, you could want no better.

How could your restaurant only have cold plates to serve up a hot breakfast??? Having come from a catering background, I found this appalling. The food served up was no better than a café on a bad day. Wow and you charge £26 or as I look at it £52 again appalling

Excellent hotel but room rates were doubled for Coldplay and it's excellent location for Principality. Breakfast very good room very comfortable.. Staff very helpful

Check in 4pm Out 11pm. Received email advising that breakfast needed to be booked. Rang the hotel to be advised this was noot required. After the concert went to the bar for night cap unfortunately so did everybody else meaning quite a wait for drinks which frustrated some guests. I suggested that pre order system for simple drinks bottled beer g&t etc may be worthwhile to avoid this situation. There was also what appeared to be an unnecessary wait to be seated for breakfast with 10 guests waiting. When seated I had to request a fresh mug as the item provided was dirty. I would use the hotel again but if you are going to premium price I feel you need to ensure service levels are maintained which is more a management issue as all. Staff were all very good.

The hotel decor was beautiful and spa treatment was outstanding. The bed was super comfy. Lovely wall to ceiling windows. The breakfast was ok, not the best choice or taste. There was a lack of organisation with no food in the hot counter, no bowls for cereal, empty cereal boxes all over the counter, no additional butter.

We thought there would be an option for room service or some info provided in the room. We also went for the Superior Queen expecting a bath! Mentioned above about breakfast

Exceptional. An immaculate hotel with experienced, friendly staff. Very nice lounges/ bar areas with a great restaurant. Our room was on the highest floor with spectacular city views.

The receptionists , sadly, in the Spa. When I asked what facials were available she didn’t know ( there are 5) and had to refresh the hotel’s website to read me the menu. I’d booked my husband a hydrotherapy session and wanted to upgrade for a treatment - but were told we couldn’t as we’d booked it on the phone(!) they were unhelpful and let the hotel down because staff in the main frame of the hotel were diligent & enthusiastic. The other problem was to park m, you have to use the NCP car park which is hazardous & narrow - only one person can exit their vehicle - you have been warned !

Excellent location, right in the very centre of Cardiff. The hotel itself is lovely, the staff were superb and very helpful. The room was comfortable and considering the pubs around us, it was quiet. Bed was comfy and we had a good night sleep. Breakfast wa slovenly with a really good choice. We used the spar facilities, which was nice and relaxing.

Nothing we didn't like. The NCP car park next door is way to expensive, £51 for 24hrs.! If you visit, park in the Just Park car park by the Capitol Centre, it was £15 for 28hrs. 10 minute walk to the hotel. This is no reflection on the hotel, just advice.

This hotel has a lot of ambiance the staff are all happy and helpful. The design of the hotel is very relaxing and all the furnishing and furniture and are to a very high standard. Book into the thermal spa and treat yourself to a facial and massage. They are excellent therapists and they are very experienced.

The car park closest to the hotel is disgusting men are urinating openly in the car park. The smell hits you before you get near the car park we have stayed on more than one occasion we have never seen any staff in the car park and it has never been cleaned. It needs disinfecting urgently and on a regular basis. It's the closest to the hotel so we have to go back there. We only walk up the car ramps we never go in the entrances. it's the worst car park I have ever been in. It lets the city of Cardiff down and you see both sides of the divide between the lovely hotel and a car park being used as a toilet with no cleaning its a health hazard.

Very clean everywhere. Very welcoming and polite staff. Beautifully decorated. Cosy but modern. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was available that we could of wanted. Ideal location for getting around Cardiff. Close to the main shopping area, train station, buses and e-bikes all over.

Breakfast was the biggest let down. No vegetarian substitutes for meat. Hotel industry on the whole falls down here. Plus selection was ok but not out standing. We were the first in the door and were surprised that the buffet selection was already cool. Add an aggressive air conditioned room and you had to eat pretty fast. I've had much better at budget hotels which should not be the case. The bar in the evening is overpriced and slow to serve. Shame as again lovey staff and venue.

We decided to treat ourselves to a night at the Palrkgate and forget the world for a short time The Hotel is beautifully decorated and the room was .s very well appointed. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in and the pillows were soft but supportive. I particularly loved the in built reading lights in the headboard. The bathroom was well thought out and the shower was splendid. The staff were delightful and service was top notch. There was a very good selection of Breakfast options, and the food on offer was top quality. I particularly loved listening to swing music over breakfast in the elegant dining room! There is a spa on the top floor, and we treated ourselves to an evening session in the thermal suite, which was discounted for hotel guests and was definitely value for money as we watched a stunning sunset over the rooftops of Cardiff from the hydrotherapy pool. The Hotel is ideally situated in the city centre, within a short walk of Cardiff Central station, the Principality Stadium and the Castle on Westgate Street, and after 7pm on a weeknight, the street itself was very quiet.

Everything was mostly top notch, but the room we were in was next to the lifts, and there was a whirring vent or fan outside the window, so there was definitely nous that could d heard throughout the night, for Simone with autism, this was a sensory issue. Personal choice, but some of the hot breakfast options (bacon, sausages, fried eggs) could have been done with a little longer coming time, so next time would ask for an order from the kitchen.

Hotel was centrally located in downtown area. Easy waking distance to a variety of restaurants, pubs, sport venues and sightseeing venues. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Views from room very good as well. Excellent overall comfort in the room.

Arrival by car and parking was a challenge. There is no good place to pull up, even for a short period of time. However, the front desk was very helpful in pointing out a location across the street to park for a very brief period to unload the luggage and then directed us to a parking structure very nearby.

the hotel itself is nice, the room is comfortable - the bed is amazing! so much so I had to take pics of the mattress topper to get for the home - did not want to get out of it. I think it is a little stingy asking staying guests to pay for spa facilities - previous comments from hotel mention it is because they want to keep access limited so the experience is more enjoyable but in that case just have a booking system subject to availability without the charges. the spa itself was also ok but it literally consists of a pool, sauna and steam room. would have been nice to have some fruit infused water stands and a herbal tea station as an extra touch. the dyson hair dryers in the changing rooms didn’t work. the breakfast was ok - a good choice of all the usual things but some things were a bit tasteless (mushrooms, potato hash etc)
