Sleeperz Hotel Cardiff

Trip to Cardiff by train to see a band at the motor point- 1 minute to train station, around 7/8 mins to the motor point. Cheap - but a tip would be to sign up to their rewards page as it gives you 15% off stays and a couple of pounds of breakfast which you don’t get through booking.com. Smooth check in as they emailed with check in facility the day before. Paid f8.95 for breakfast- hot food. Toast. Rolls. Meats and cheese. Cereals and fruit: yogurt. Pastries. Cooked up fresh veggie sausages. Also coffees and juice. Rooms are very compact but have everything you need. Hairdryer tv kettle and air con - although was a little noisy. Good shower- just basic shower gel - no shampoos etc but would say it was a one night stay rather than a long term. There is not a lot of natural light in the room but as a cheap overnight stay it was a good choice, value for money and clean

- It was at 1-minute walk from Central Station, and everything was close by (Cardiff Castle is a 10-minute walk away) - Everyone was really kind and accommodating - There is a lounge area guests can stay in. It has tables and very comfy chairs, and it was a real asset for us

- Early every morning a very strong food smell kept waking us up although we were staying at the third floor - The room was a bit small, the window didn’t open and there was a footstool but it had no seatback which is inconvenient for people with back issues like us

It was a nice cosy room. Very comfortable bet and good shower. Location is just perfect as it was very central. We also booked breakfast for all the days that we stayed at Sleeperz and they offered a really good variety and tasty Breakfast. I was very pleased especially for the price. One thing that was worrying us when booking was how close the hotel is to the train station and how much you would be able to hear during the night/morning. I can assure you that the hotel is very well sound proof and you can not hear the trains at all. We are definetly staying at Sleeperz again next time we visit Cardiff.

Pretty much everything was very good however the rooms were very warm and at night it felt like the mattress was heated as it was extremely hot. they do have airconditions in the rooms but we didnt want to make the room colder just the bed.

Coudn't have been better placed for a short stay in Cardiff especially if travelling there by train. The room was 'compact', but functional, with a comfortable bed, a very well designed shower room/toilet, a suitable size Sony TV, tea/coffee making facility. The breakfast room was light, airy, modern, very clean and the spread of food impressive. This facility was far superior to many I've seen in much more expensive hotels.

The air-conditioning was effective, but a tick-tick sound emanating from it when off, was annoying. Fortunately being deaf in one ear, the slight noise was bearable.

Small but adequate for one. Comfortable bed with spare pillows for those who prefer a thinner or fuller pillow which is a nice touch. Well insulated so no road or reveller noise and no train noise despite being right on top of the station. Really clean. Nice hot shower, shower gel provided, fluffy towels. The sink was placed a little close to the toilet but as I am not a large person I was able to sit fairly comfortably. Breakfast selection was good, bacon (very well done), sausages, scrambled egg, beans, tomatoes, tater tots. Orange and apple juices, tea, coffee, fruits, yoghurt, croissants, pain au chocolate, bread, jams. I was earlier on the second day and there was also some french stick.

Cooked breakfast was cold unfortunately - I would recommend hotel purchase some proper hot plates rather than using Bain Marie to keep food hot. I did mention it to one of the staff who shrugged at me. Air con unit kept me awake on the second night making clicking noises every few minutes. Tried turning off the power to the room, but appears the air con not powered by key card. Tried turning the air con unit on for a little while and then turning it off again. Finally stopped at around 00:30. I was then woken up at 04:30 by a dripping sound from the shower. Quickly resolved after finding the source by wrapping a towel around the bar. Strange as it hadn’t been dripping before and wasn’t at all when the towel was removed in the morning.

the location is excellent. easy and relatively cheap parking at the train station. very quiet hotel. room very well designed. breakfast very good and plentiful choice. Kelly the staff member covering breakfast service was very attentive and very helpful and also very polite. would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend

one design flaw in the room is no where to hang your wet towels once used. also whilst there was 2 pillows each they were very soft pillows. we prefer much firmer pillows and we used towels underneath the pillows to create some firmness. That’s the only negatives which admittedly are quite minor.

The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything I needed for a two night stay. Lovely fresh towels provided and the shower was so refreshing after a long journey. Ideal location next door to the train station, only a few steps down the road to catch my train home.

The floors are wooden, so when the guest in the next room was scraping the chair across the floor for hours on end on the second night, it disturbed my sleep, I have no idea why they would do this. Perhaps if there was carpet on the floor, that would solve the issue, or if seating was fixed like all the other furniture.

I liked everything about this hotel, it was the first time I ever been here and I honestly got to say it's out of this world. The rooms, the facilities, the Location, the food, bar, Restaurant. Everything was absolutely amazing and outstanding.The staff couldn't do enough to help you always had a smile on their faces. And what I was impressed with more my best friend was disabled and fair play the staff couldn't do enough to help her. Honestly every member of staff at that hotel were pleasant, polite, friendly and their manners were impeccable. The hotel was completely spotless and so clean. And the prices for the hotel were very reasonable. They need to keep their prices like that because so many people love it there. It's Literally straight by the train station and everything is within walking distance. I definitely 💯 % would recommend this hotel to anyone. And a massive definitely me and my best friend will be back. I have never felt so comfortable in a hotel, they had beautiful and cosy chairs in the lounge bit with a huge TV. You could have food there. The breakfast was absolutely amazing the selection and the staff were friendly and helpful and kind. They kept asking is everything ok Madam I can do anything for you. More hotels like yours should take a massive leaf out of your book. This is how a hotel should look and should be run, because they got the right staff working there. Absolutely well done to every member of staff at sleeperz Cardiff South Wales. First class service.

There was nothing I didn't like sorry everything was absolutely spot on and first class.

I was travelling by train and the location couldn't be better. Also, it is in the city centre and this was another part of the location that was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Electrical gadgets - air conditioner in particular - gave some trouble. I reported this and they tried to fix it promptly but the effort wasn't entirely successful it seems. Housekeeping staff must be busy and so I hate to sound complaining but they could have been a bit more attentive. Used tea cups were sometimes cleaned but left uncleaned some other times.

Location is ideal as it’s right next to the train station & city centre. One receptionist, one cleaner & the food server was friendly & helpful, other staff not so much unfortunately. The bed was adequate & comfier than a lot of hotel beds & the bathroom is more spacious than other budget hotels.

The price we paid was far too much, but being Easter weekend it was expected. We paid for a buffet breakfast, ‘hot’ food was cold or dry & a few things (pastries, fruit salad) was unavailable by the time we got there. We wouldn’t book this again. We’d stay at the hotel again if the price was right but only because of ideal location.
