Friendly staff. Beautiful building with excellent breakfast room. I recommend the full welsh breakfast. Good WIFI . Spacious room with large comfortable double bed. Parking. Great location with a easy walk through the park and along the river to the Castle and city centre. The shared Sitting/lounge room is an excellent feature of the hotel.

Parking is tight. Parked on the street one night even though there was space in the carpark, The parking is not suitable for a big car or a timid rental car driver. lol The Bed had a slight dip in the middle but still comfortable. Bathroom is due for a renovation

Glad it was off the noisy city centre. Yet it was a lovely walk across the Sophia Gardens into the city centre. Off street parking was not a problem at all when the car park on the premises was full. Enjoyed the salmon with scrambled egg breakfast we had for the 3 days we were there. Room was clean and a good size. Premises was well kept.

The wifi failed on the second day we were there. However the receptionist was very helpful. She gave me an alternate ID to sign in. That didn’t work as soon as I reached the room as I was on the highest floor (room 310). I had to get onto the wifi connection in the living room on the ground floor. On the third day, the wifi failed again. Another receptionist on duty helped me sign in to another ID. That worked. One other negative is that the taps in the bathtub and sink were not mixer taps. So you either have very cold or very hot water. There was an overhead shower in the bath though. That was good. Overall, all was excellent except for these two issues.

The room we booked was a super king which was on the ground floor and huge. However, we swapped with a family member with mobility issues. Our new room was a king size, not nearly as big, though, but decorated well, clean, and bed was super comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of selection, and hot food was prepared on demand. Coffee could have been better, but on the whole breakfast was good. Parking is a little tight but great to have the facility.

Only dislike was our ensuite was small and dated with a number of untidy redundant fixing holes (filled) at the tiling. Hostess tray had odd cups, which would have been much better had they been mugs.

Beautiful Victorian building. Family-run hotel. Four poster bedroom was spacious and tastefully decorated. Enjoyed a vegetarian, cooked breakfast on one day and the salmon and scrambled eggs on the other. Good quality coffee and tea. Staff were attentive, especially the owner, who is extremely helpful and hospitable. The rooms are nice and quiet. Despite being on a main road in a residential area, you can't hear any traffic at night. Toiletries were sourced in Wales and available for purchase. Decor will appeal to Downton Abbey fans!

The dining room was a bit snug.

We were upgraded to a super kingsize bed which was comfortable. The room was spacious and clean with heavily lined curtains that kept the room dark. Breakfast on the first morning was excellent. The morning staff were friendly and efficient and remembered on the second morning that I wanted GF toast.

The gap between the room door and the floor was about an inch and lots of light got in under the door at night that I didn't like. I like a dark room at night. The bathroom amenity bottles were reused - not a problem, it's good to reuse bottles - but the shampoo and bath gel pump bottle tops didn't work and that was annoying. Breakfast for my partner and I wasn't nearly as good as the first morning when we both had the full Welsh breakfast Was there a different cook? It seemed like it. My cheese omelette had no discernible cheese and my partner's sausage was overcooked. Shame.

We know the area of Pontcanna/ Cathedral Road very well- it is one of our favourite places to stay. The Lincoln is a good solid choice with a good and varied breakfast menu. A walk back through Bute Park into the city is a great way to spend a weekend in this amazing City.

The staff member who welcomed us on the Friday as we arrived wasn't the friendliest; everyone else after that was lovely. Toilet lid wouldn't stay up without having to hold it up- a bit of a pain. Food rating has taken a bit of a hit recently it seems. Not quite as good as it used to be sadly.

I booked a two night stay here as I had a conference at the nearby cricket ground. You could walk there in less than five minutes. The room was ideal for what I needed, and very clean. I got the sense that the hotel is family run, and some of the kids help serve breakfast which I thought was very sweet. Breakfast was great considering the price; all the options you would expect, served promptly with generous portions. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Close to Principality Stadium and easy walk from Train Station. Very comfortable room, basic but fine for what we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Great quality ingredients. Staff were very approachable. No complaints and would definitely stay here again.

Only problem I could forsee is parking, especially if you are staying during a big event. Located on busy main road so parking is a problem. Only small parking space allocated to the Hotel which is why we chose to travel by train instead.

It is an old-style building in the nice quiet neighborhood with a large park nearby. It takes around 25 minutes by foot to get to the Cardiff center and you can choose to either go through the park (recommended) or through the city. There are also cosy-looking pubs and restaurants in the neighborhood (although I didn’t go there). I really enjoyed staying there. My room was large and had everything I needed. The place was clean and the breakfast was very good.

Cardiff Lincoln House Hotel This was a very old style hotel. It has 22 rooms and is full of charm and character. It was very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is located on the outskirts of the city centre, being an easy 15-minute walk through the park to the city. We really liked its location away from the hustle and bustle, and it made it very quiet. Our room was on the 3rd floor up 31 stairs. It was small, extremely clean. The bathroom has recently been renovated and was lovely and fresh. The shower was nice and hot with really good pressure. Our bed was a double, the mattress dipped in the middle but it was still very comfortable. We actually had a really good sleep. The room had tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was really nice with the choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, juices and your choice of a full cooked Welsh breakfast. On-site parking was available at the back of hotel and only has 12 narrow sites for 22 guests so it's first in gets the spot we were lucky to get the 2nd last spot. We would recommend this hotel especially if you like old charm buildings and we would stay here again we really liked its location.
