The welcome was brilliant. I phoned ahead explaining it was our anniversary and they made the room extra special. Allison the lady we dealt with was superb, very helpful and very honest. The apartment was lovely and the views across the lake stunning. We loved it so much we've decided to stay again at a later date. I would very much recommend booking this to anyone who's looking for something a little special and peaceful

The one and only thing I would say is maybe the decking/balcony area could do with a lick of paint. But in all honesty it didn't matter at all cause the views took that away.

Loved the setting. The staff were very approachable, friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent and we were able to sit outside on the decking which was a novelty this summer. Loved that the chef was so excited about his freshly picked blackberries, which were lovely.

Unfortunately the UHT milk in the room was on the turn so I had to get some proper milk to make coffee. The coffee machine in the dining room only gave frothy milk, no actual coffee which was a shame. The staff were informed but didn't seem to know what to do about it. Not keen on the automatic light under the bed that kept going on and off through the night, a bit off-putting.

The staff were amazing and polite! They had our suite ready early for us too, with a lovely touch of Swan towels and rose petals on the bed. We had a 3 course meal in the evening and the food was utterly devine!!

There wasn't much room between the door to outside/outdoor area and the lake, and there was no fence etc separating these, so was a little worried of going outside after a couple of wines incase I fell in lol! But was lovely to sit out on and chill! We also had a hot tub, on a larger part of decking, with some seating, which was lovely too, however the jets didn't work very well on the one side (we left earlyish in the morning, so was unable to let receptionist know)

Beautiful location, very relaxing. Love the fact it was modern and rural and rustic all at the same time. Bathroom was beautiful with an amazing shower. Hot tub fab lovely surroundings.

I liked the lodge very much and very much enjoyed my stay the only thing I was slightly let down by was that the restaurant was closed in the evening (it was fine found a nice little pub not far) and the breakfast was not great. Not the food persay I just think thay the restaurant just needed a little extra something to make it extra special and unfortunately there was bird poo on the table cloth.

I booked my daughter and her boyfriend the lodge with a hot tub for her 18th birthday present. They thoroughly enjoyed their overnight stay and said that the staff at reception were brilliant. The room was spotlessly clean and equipped very well with everything you need for your stay. They enjoyed their full English breakfast in the morning and said everything about the place was amazing. They would recommend this place to other couples wanting a little night away. They were very impressed with this little gem of a place!

There was nothing at all they didn't like about their stay.

Lovely suit, clean and modern. Lovely touches with the heart towel and petals. Love the technology of the lights, heating and shower, alongside the Alexa. Really unique touch. Nice, big hot tub with a lovely decking area. We ordered room service and was impressed with the quality and taste of the food! Everything was amazing. Loved the animals, the goats especially. You could tell money was being spent on the place with renovations and building work, can’t wait to come back and check it out once completed!

Hot tub chemicals were extremely strong and made eyes burn from being sat in it. I appreciate this may not be something you can control, just an observation compared to other places we’ve stayed with hot tubs.

We stayed in a 2 double bedroom lodge, with hottub. Really spacious. It feels like an apartment. The bathroom was really nice, loved the big shower and light up mirror. Also loved the fact we could turn the heating on with a smart dial on the wall. So easy to use! And asking alexa to turn on and off the light was a great touch. Bedding was really clean and fresh. Towels also. Lovely little shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap in the bathroom. Me and my husband bought some fish food from reception a massive bag for £4 which lasted us the day and morning. The fish, ducks and geese loved it. It was really lovely feeding them all. So many carp in the lake. All came right up to the balcony. Definitely recommend doing that! There are some animals by reception, we saw 3 really cute baby goats. Also a large pig, 2 white peacocks and chickens. All living in the same pen. Super cute. You can feed them. Alison the lady on reception was also really friendly, knowledgeable and just a lovely lady. Look forward to seeing her when we return! As a side note, this is not a 5* place. It is in the wild. There is water stained ceilings and touch up marks throughout, this did not bother us in any way shape or form. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning

The slight issue I personally had, was that the light switch in the bedrooms (which can be controlled by alexa) flashed all night. Which for me was really distracting causing me to have an unsettled night. In the end I covered it up with a sticker I found. Unsure why they flash. My husband had no problems with this though. Despite this I will still be returning! Stickers at the ready! The bed was also a little firm, but again personal preference.

Large room at the end of the corridor. Had everything we needed for our one night stay with children. Certain areas needed a little attention but serviceable. Deck area lovely for the children to feed the ducks&geese. Sadly the jacuzzi bath (which I promised them) didn’t work as expected. Alexa worked everything so that amused them. The hot and cold breakfast options were very good, fast and friendly service. The cute farm animals in the paddock next to the car park was a real treat for our animal loving children!! Good stay and would totally return and recommend.

Certain areas needed some attention and smarten up but all else was great

Our stay was excellent, Alison and all of the staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, from extra towels to the heating being turned up. Breakfast was wonderful and tasty and plenty of it. Love feeding the fish and ducks from the private decking area, and the little animal enclosure with goats, chickens and a pig who the goats love jumping on, and then the emu's? They are taller than me so I didn't get too close haha! Please remember they are a B&B, If you require housekeeping put the door hanger out, extra supplies of milk, tea coffee etc are on the table as you go through to the rooms and at the end of the day just ask nicely things will get sorted. Will definitely be staying again.

Nothing I can think of

Honestly this place deserves so many more star. The location is amazing and the fact all the facilities are so model. I really like the review notebooks that are in the rooms. All the staff were so friendly especially the receptionist she really made us feel welcome the minute we got there. They had even gone the extra steps to decorate the room for my partners birthday. This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back. We have told all our friends and they have also been looking at dates to book.

To be honest we really enjoyed it all.
