Stanhill Court Hotel

1) Great room; modern, fresh, excellent bed 2) Dinner: very nice dinner. The service in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic. Great staff! (breakfast ditto) 3) Hotel is set in nice grounds

The towel rack in the bathroom went full blast continuously. The weather was cold and wet, so when arriving there was a nice warm bathroom waiting. But...after dinner and in the morning the bathroom was like a sauna. (with the risk you might burn yourself). It was impossible to switch it off. I complained at reception and it was explained it was a mistake made during refurbishment. It would be rectified.

The hotel is a very attractive country pile - you wouldn't think you were only a couple of miles from Gatwick airport. The room was large and well equipped, the common areas were swanky and the gardens looked lovely.

Breakfast was a little bit of a let down, being self service and around the same quality as a Quality Inn or similar. We also would have liked to use the hotel for our week's parking, but parking is only available if you stay the night before your holiday. We wanted to stay the night of our return as it was a late flight; their system couldn't deal with that. As a general observation, we cant be the only people who would like that sort of parking deal.

Lovely historic building and grand entrance area. Attentive and efficient reception staff, nothing was too much trouble . Comfortable, spacious and quiet room with lovely views

Some training is required in dealing with food intolerances and allergies. I didn’t feel confident in waiter’s knowledge of gluten and dairy in breakfast menu. As I am coeliac this information is essential and my experience didn’t match the response j received when enquiring about this area on making the reservation. Public toilet facilities were showing since of wear and tear needing maintenance as toilet missing push button to flush toilet.

On our way back home we had a car accident and had to find a hotel near Gatwick Airport to travel home by plane the next day. We didn't want to stay in a real airport hotel, after the shock we wanted to find a nice countryside hotel where we could relax a bit. I searched for the 'best rated hotel' in the area and Stanhill Court hotel came up first and I already loved the pictures. I booked it just an hour in advance. When we came in we were very impressed by the decor. It looked like it was just renovated but also had lovely authentic details. We had the last 2 rooms and were so happy! We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant 1881, with to our astonishment very decent prices! There was a wedding party, but the music wasn't till late and didn't bother us. In the morning breakfast was nice with enough choice. The area is very nice and the views of the countryside are lovely. It felt like a surprise we had found this little gem! Really thinking about going back.

The hotel had no bath slippers and as all our luggage was still in the car we really missed that service. Do expect to find some spiders in the bathrooms, but I think that's part of the deal when you stay in the countryside. In the morning breakfast was in a conference room which was very warm but I think on weekdays it is in the restaurant.

Set on 35 acres, the Stanhill Country House is impressive. The staff at the front desk and the dining room were welcoming and friendly. We had a light lunch, dinner and then breakfast in the very pretty dining room with relaxing music and pretty views. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location, 12 minutes from the Gatwick airport is a huge plus. Such a nice way to end a vacation as opposed to a typical boring airport hotel.

We were satisfied with everything. The room and the window in it, were smaller than I expected but certainly adequate. The price per night was the highest we paid in our 21 day holiday in the UK, but it was worth it to be close to the airport in such a lovely place.

Room was lovely , we did asked to be moved after the first night as there was a Christmas party, which we already knew in advance. As some of the guest never left until; 2.51am in the morning , apparently problems with the Taxis. One that note was moved with no hassle at all.

I really couldn't comment as we furtherly enjoyed our stay. All Staff was lovely especially Iris hopefully I have her name correctly. She looked after us in the restaurant, she was very attentive. 5 Stars to her form us.

My wife and I stayed here for a night in the Standard Deluxe double room. We had a lovely experience. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was great, and the view from the window was great. They have made excellent use of essntially the attic space of the building. The hallways in the building and the surrounding area are also very beautiful. Additionally, they had very fast WiFi and very efficient wait staff in the restaurant.

The breakfast options were very basic. It's a buffet system that doesn't have many good options for vegetarian. The scrambled eggs are in the same heated pot as the meat (partitioned) so you cannot enjoy the eggs without the meat smell. The bathroom did not have many toiletries in there. The basics were covered: some body wash, some hand wash. But I expected them to provide some bath related toiletries at this price point (£150 a night).

Beautiful hotel in an equally beautiful location. As great as the building and its location were it was the staff who really shone during our very short stay here. The breakfast which was included was great, a great selection of cooked to order food as well as cereals, fruit and pastries. Would definitely stay here again.

The only fairly small downside was the room temperature was difficult to regulate but otherwise everything was perfect.

The building and the interior were an amazing sight to behold. The chandeliers, the fireplace gave a serene feel. The beds were comfortable. The boys loved the loft beds.The surrounding garden and the amphitheatre was nice to visit as well.

The first room that was given to us was a loft room. It had a window. Since my spouse doesnt like the loft ceilings, we were sent to another room. This room had double ceiling with no windows. Although we were comfortable and were staying for just a night, we wouldn't have liked to stay in this room for more than one day.

The staff were very helpful. It's close to Gatwick airport without being part of the airport complex so very handy when we arrived back. It's quiet and peaceful, being a rural location. It's a beautiful characterful building with lovely grounds. The room was clean with a lovely shower. It was really comfortable and had Aircon.

The room was a little small although this didn't bother us as we were literally here for one night.
