The Inn On The Green0

Nice location across from the village green. Very traditional inside with nice cosy seating in the older part of the building and light & airy in the modern conservatory. Also a nice beer garden. The bar served a good selection of beers etc and the food was brilliant, all fresh and home cooked with quality ingredients. Our room overlooking the garden was comfortable, clean and spacious with a nice ensuite. After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast we left happy

We liked the creaky floorboards, noisy plumbing and other quirks that come with staying in a sixteenth century building. We enjoyed the excellent food and beer that you would expect from a freehouse inn. The views were great and it's but a shortish walk to Leith Hill. The prices were more than reasonable; great value all round. But we especially appreciated the atmosphere of friendliness that defines the whole establishment.

The bathrooms, although spotlessly clean and totally functional, could do with updating.

It was a twin room, clean , lovely and warm when we arrived ,the beds were very comfortable , It was quiet at night our room was at the back of the building ,The location was very convenient for us . Staff welcoming and very helpful .Breakfast was good ,boxes of cereal, orange juice and a cooked breakfast . A packed sandwich was provided for us from the chef as we had to leave before breakfast on our final day . Lovely garden with outdoor seating .

The service at the hotel was exceptional. The personnel are really friendly and helpful. We had our evening meal as well as breakfast at the hotel and the food was fabulous. Our room was small and very creaky and not to everyone's liking- not everyone could fit through the "Hobbitt Door", but it was very characterful and was clean and comfortable. There was no hairdryer, but I am sure I could have asked for one if this had been a real issue. We asked for more tea, coffee and milk for the room and it was no trouble.

Perhaps have a hairdryer in the room.

We stayed here for a wedding about a 20 mins drive away. The pub was lovely and the staff were amazing. They kept the kitchen open for us on arrival as we were running late. They also showed us how to get back into the pub after the wedding. The food was great especially breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the rooms were. We would definitely recommend this pub and stay again if in the area!

Nothing apart from the expensive taxi to the wedding but that cannot be helped in that part of the world!

The hosts were fantastic and really friendly, couldn't ask for more. Julie in particular helped us with getting a taxi service for a wedding which was really appreciated. When we left our room key at the wedding venue, the landlord was happy to get us a spare, even though it was 12.45am (luckily he was still up). The full breakfast was of a very high quality. It's a great pub in a fantastic location.

It is an old building so this isn't so much of a criticism, just a reality. The noise can travel and the floorboards are very creaky.

We stayed here at the end of a long walk to Leith Hill. The room was basic and wouldn't win any style awards but very clean, warm and private. A nice view onto garden and trees beyond. Staff were very friendly and dinner was amazing. Really well done pub grub, the home-made steak and ale pie was great, my partner had the pint of prawns, great too. Breakfast we went for a bacon sandwich, good bacon, strong coffee, no complaints!

The Pub area downstairs could have been a bit warmer, but after two pints of cider I soon forgot about that....The landlord, very friendly, watched sport on a giant TV, which did dictate the atmosphere in the bar somewhat, would have preferred music in the back ground not snooker.

Lauren and Julie and their team were so attentive, even to the point of helping my heavily sunburnt arm from driving down in the day, the meals there are good sized portions and they are amazingly tasty. I was even granted a room upgrade which gave me more space and that was brilliant too!

It was wonderful if anything, Just needs a lick of paint in places

On arrival we were greeted by Julie,she made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived.The whole team were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay lovely.Julie,Ali and team plus the customers made us feel like we had been going there for years.The food was lovely,the room was comfortable and clean.Breakfast was great, lovely produce.Absolutely loved our stay and will be going back soon

Good value for money. A traditional old pub which, like the name says, is right on the huge village green. Friendly, helpful staff. Room comfy and clean with bath, overlooking beer garden and quiet (not facing out onto main road or above bar). Good, honest pub food for evening meal with decent portions. Cooked breakfast to order.
