Corner House Hotel Gatwick

Great location very near to Gatwick, really comfortable bed, outstandingly helpful staff, and a delicious cooked breakfast with quality ingredients the next morning. The 24-hour reception and shuttle were greatly appreciated as my incoming flight was six hours late and I arrived in the middle of the night. I parked for a week at the hotel while I was away and it was great value for money, and my car stayed on the property, not moved elsewhere, which was reassuring. So much nicer than staying in a big chain hotel, and I will definitely stay again when I am flying out of Gatwick next time.

It’s hard to think of anything, but if I had to be picky I’d say just that the showers could use a little bleach to remove a bit of mildew, but otherwise everything was spotlessly clean.

This is a typical airport hotel in that it mainly caters for single night stop overs for passengers flying from Gatwick airport. Nevertheless, it has better facilities than some destination hotels I have stayed in. For example, there is a bar and lounge where guests can relax (thought has also been given to smokers by the provision of an outside space. The rooms are simple but comfortable with kettle and tes/coffee etc. But what really did it for me at the end of an eight week residential teaching course was the standard of cleanliness. My room and shower were both spotless.

If really pushed I would say that the shower head in room 38 is on the way out. Still serviceable but the seal is starting to perish.

My room was neat and fresh and clean with tasteful decor. Everything was thoughtfully prepared with shower gels in the bathroom and tea and coffee and kettle in the room. My bed was extremely comfortable, and I appreciated the small fan provided. The room was quiet and peaceful, and I wasn't dusturbed. The staff were friendly and helpful . I opted for the full breakfast,which was lovely, and also used the hotel shuttle bus both ways to Gatwick - which was convenient. Highly recommend!

Due to lack of familiarity I struggled to work out how to use the modern shower dials. It was lovely once I worked it out - but it took a while. I admit this was my own challenge, but maybe a laminated instruction card somewhere could be useful for those of us who need it ?

The Corner House is extremely well appointed as regards aesthetics and quality of workmanship (i.e. fresh paint on walls, staff friendly and helpful - particularly Sophie - and welcoming. Single bed under eaves so if you're tall be mindful waking up suddenly to switch off the early o'clock alarm call for your flight. Mini bus service to airport great.

Can't change the location. But be aware the name says it all. Property situated on the V of a junction with 2 roads either side. Very convenient for Gatwick airport but traffic noise omnipresent so opening windows for fresh air not viable which means relying on fan, again noisy. Be good to offer greater supper options - doesn't have to be fancy - but factor in dietary needs perhaps?

The hotel was easy to find and located close to the airport. Our room was clean and provided for all our needs during our stay. The bed was confortable and there was no noise from other rooms/guests. We requested dinner and this was provided on time. Unfortunately there was no room in the dining room so we had to eat in the bar, but that was not a problem. We had our own table and a quiet corner. The food was like home cooking, fresh, hot and tasty. The shuttle service to and from the Airport was excellent.

Our room was a little cramped for space but was adequate for our needs for one night stay. We were situated on the ground floor. The staff were all very friendly and curtious but busy which meant the service was a little rushed and inpersonal at times.

I booked this hotel as a budget option having an early flight out of Gatwick. I arrived the day before my flight and walked to the hotel from he airport, it took around 30 minutes, however the path along the side of the railway was a little muddy and i would not have wanted to do it in the dark. I decided to take advantage of the shuttle service the next morning to get back to the airport, which was very quick and inexpensive. Pre booked the night before, i also had the breakfast which was excellent and far cheaper than the airport. All the staff i meet, reception, Breakfast and the shuttle driver were super friendly.

There was nothing really not to dislike, all was as per my exceptions. I would say again if i needed a budget overnight hotel near Gatwick Airport.

- proximity to the airport - value for money for a quick overnight when taking an early flight - small and family style business - airport shuttle every 30min at acceptable cost - cleanliness and functionality of rooms - free coffee/tea maker on rooms - heating that actually works - soft, clean towels

- the room I had was tiny, literally, walk in and space for the bed. didn't bother me too much as only for one night - constant noise from a fan outside squeaking - another noise that came in infrequently, sounded like a boiler or heating room that was next to me. - payment with AMEX didn't work, although initially offered as payment solution

Excellent location, we booked this hotel primarily for this and the free airport transfer - who was on time, polite and happy to help. We liked that we actually had a proper single bed in addition to the double, rather than the camp bed we usually get when requesting a room for three. Shower was good and plenty of food options nearby.

Dislike is too strong - the handsoap being fixed to the wall at adult height meant handwashing was difficult for my red daughter, and the bathroom was very clean but a little tired looking. This property doesn't have a lift, so something to be aware of if you have lots of luggage as another guest found out! Otherwise we were very happy with our stay

Excellent location. 24 hour bus service passes the hotel and takes 5 minutes to Gatwick South Terminal. Friendly welcoming staff. Well maintained, comfortable bedroom that was spotlessly clean. Excellebt food.

If I was being supercritical I would say - please can we have a British draught beer on tap in the bar - check-in was slow because of guests who keep everuthing on their smartphone and then cant retrieve the info in a timely manner, but thats not the hotels fault

I booked a room at the hotel because I would have been unable to get to the airport from where I live for my early flight the day after due to the rail industrial action. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The wi-fi connection was reliable and I liked having the kettle in my room. Some coffee and tea bags were also provided! To save walking to the airport the next morning, I booked a seat on the hotel's shuttle, which was very reasonably priced. I will certainly recommend staying there to my friends 👍
