Craigievar Guest House

On the surface, this was a great stay. A very spacious room with a well appointed bathroom with plenty of hooks to hang clothes and our belongings. It was good to have a fridge, and the soundproofing worked well to reduce the adjacent main road noise hugely. Location on the outskirts wasn’t too much of a problem as there were regular buses and tram to get into the city. Parking on site was good.

We were disappointed that the £200 a night we paid for our double room did not include breakfast. Staying during the Fringe festival we hadn’t realised how much of a premium went on the rooms and question value for money. A couple of things were a bit strange too, on our second night we realised our windows had been opened during the day while we were out and not shut so the road noise was much more intrusive until we recognised the problem. Also the shower didn’t drain very well.

Nice house with multiple room units. Check-in was easy and organized. Hostess was very nice and helpful! Room and private bathrooms were clean and well supplied. Bus line is nearby with stops within walking distance to get you into Edinburgh. Close to the airport. Had parking spots available as well as free street parking.

Not in central Edinburgh - but was only about 20 minute bus ride to central town? Restaurants nearby, but it is a house in a neighborhood setting so not A LOT of eateries right there, which made the area nicer looking, but maybe not as convenient.

Very clean, spacious rooms, Michele was amazingly welcoming and helpful, brilliant breakfast, checking in and out was a breeze, very very easy access into Edinburgh and easy to find too.

If I was forced to find fault, my only criticism, and to be honest it isn't specific to Craigievar, is that the beds are always so hard, so getting a good night's sleep is impossible, but that's the same whether staying a 5☆ hotel or a B&B.

It was an extremely easy bus ride from the city centre to the beautiful, meticulously kept guest house. The room was large and luxuriously decorated, and included a fridge, table, and comfortable upholstered chairs, for dining-in. Michelle ccould not have been more welcoming and helpful. After I inquired about having fish and chips delivered, she gave me the number and brought cutlery for me to use! I very much enjoyed visiting with her. The guest house was a truly wonderful, cozy respite.

Perfect location to fly out of Edinburgh. Beautiful room, very large, plenty of electric outlets, decorated so nicely, everything was elegant and cozy. The en suite bathroom was great, lots of space, nice large shower, and my favorite was the lighted mirror. Michele is a great hostess, greeted us with such warmth and also recommendations for dining and transportation.

The family room was perfect for our 1 night stay in Edinburgh. It was comfortable, cosy and clean. Location was also good, plenty of parking.

Though we were very happy with the property and room, it was a little expensive for a single room (we paid a similar amount for a great 2-bedroom apartment in Camden (London). Had we stayed for more than a night it might have been a bit tight, we only had space to open up one (of two) suitcases at a time. But for our short stay it was fine.

The host/owner was brilliant. Really friendly and went out her way to make sure we were comfortable. Will book again directly through Michelle. We were going to the zoo so the location was perfect. The room was comfy and quiet.

Booking through booking.com for a pay on arrival and x3 loads of money being held in "pending" for the week in advance of arrival for booking.com to tell us there is nothing they can do for 7-10 days as "the computer did it"

Room was very clean. Nearby you have McDonald dominos Lidl and indian Chinese restaurant.

Location is very far from the city. It costs a lot to reach city. Kitchen was closed and they didn't mentioned me about usage of kitchen. I bought some ready to eat items and was not able to heat it in the oven

The room was large and comfortable, the breakfast was enough to keep us going all day and Michele was an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very welcome and at home. We would definately stay here again. The bus stop was right outside the property and went straight into the city centre, no need to use the car. Also Corstophine has a nice local pub (Winstons) who made us very welcome and plenty of shops close as well.

The room was attractive, spacious, comfortable & clean. Well positioned for both airport & by bus to city centre. Separate room available for self catering (breakfast/takeaway) with crockery, cutlery etc provided. Restaurants & supermarket nearby. Welcoming & friendly hostess.
