Acer Lodge Guest House

The rooms were bigger than expected and everything was clean. The beds are on the soft side but I didn't mind for a few days. The breakfast was excellent and always freshly prepared, no buffet, only a la carte. Because of that adjustments were also possible (we were two vegetarians and the Scottish diet is rather meat heavy). You could easily reach the city center via Bus (takes about 15 minutes) and the airport is a less than 30 minute bus drive away. There is a Tesco close by and since there is a fridge in the room we were able to store some snacks and drinks without problems. Anjoe and Thomas were very nice and accommodating and always ready to help us solve problems.

It was close to the airport making it convenient to return rental car for an early flight. There was free onsite parking available for our car. The room had a refrigerator and the staff gave us small milk container for tea. Tea pot, teas, sugar and cups were provided. Easy to get in using lock box to retrieve room key.

Traffic is very heavy on Queensferry road between 4-6 pm with people leaving the city. If arriving from the west on Queensferry road almost impossible to turn right across two lanes of bumper to bumper cars into the property parking. We had to drive a mile past the lodge to be able to turn around because road filled with cars, then slow progress back to the lodge for a left turn into property, (recommend try to approach the lodge from the east on Queensferry road for an easy left turn into parking area, or don’t arrive during heavy commute time). Road traffic noise stayed heavy during the evening so I had to wear earplugs when sleeping, (earplugs were supplied in the room).

I stayed at a lovely accommodation recently. The room was adorable, and the bed was soft and clean. The owner of the accommodation was extremely kind and allowed me to leave my luggage overnight for free. They even brought my luggage from the upper floor to the lower floor. The accommodation is located near a bus stop, making it convenient to travel from the airport and explore the city. It doesn't take much time to get around.

One suggestion I have is that the accommodation doesn't have a lift. So, if you stay on the second floor, you'll need to carry your luggage up several steps of stairs.

The house is convenient for visiting Edinburgh and surrounds. It is on a very busy road though so can be tricky to turn into and out of the driveway. However, the room was spacious, fridge supplied (with milk) which was a huge bonus in the heatwave. The first night was unbearably hot but the hosts provided a fan for the rest of the stay and it was fine. The owners were friendly and helpful, breakfast is offered as an add on but we didn't make use of the option. Parking onsite and the bus stop a very short walk away. Overall, we were happy with the accommodation.

Obviously being on a busy road, there is a lot of road noise. Hosts did supply earplugs though. It was quite tricky to turn right with the fast moving traffic on the road but it can be done!

Ease of check in. Room was well equipped and comfortable. Lovely little touches - jug of milk in mini fridge (a mini fridge!) with some bottled water. Although on main road, room was quiet. Excellent transport links to Princes Street (43 Lothian bus from Clermiston Drive stop near guest house) Super friendly hosts and great breakfast. So accommodating xx

Nothing that I didn’t like. A tiny thing - Just found the temperature in shower hard to regulate- a little too hot. And perhaps a little holder to put shower gel/ soap etc in shower?

Liked that once we checked in we were left to our own to devices. Pleased that we had the option to come and go as we Pleased during the day. Hosts were lovely friendly and helpful.

Car parking area when raining holds a lot of water resulting in some large puddles forming, but it Quickly drain away once the rain had stopped. Over all it was a pleasant experience and would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Small but adequate room with good facilities. Very clean.Very accommodating Hosts. Information folder in room provides travellers with good information on transport options into Old Town and local eating and shopping options. Good breakfast options and ample parking. Park the car up .Bus straight outside the door to anywhere in Edinburgh and great village through the park with great pubs and supermarket.

The room was a decent size, was clean and there was a mini fridge. Curtains were good quality so light didn't get in. there was a fan in the room and earplugs were provided in the bathroom as the property is on a busy main road so can become noisy. Ideal location for bus route in and out of town and parking available at no extra charge. Keysafe entry so self check-in which I found convenient.

We were in a room just inside the main door and opposite the breakfast room so I found it quite noisy in the mornings when the host was greeting other guests for breakfast and the dog was barking.

Exceptional. Family Suite was larger than we expected. Private space with seperate entrance. It was comfortable, with lots of space. Even a mini lounge area. Great value for Money. Breakfast was really nice also, and the hosts were super kind and friendly. Location was perfect for us to visit Edinburgh City as well as drive quickly to Queensferry and The Kelpies. Public transport when needed was also very convenient and easy to follow.

We had a family room with 4 single beds, plenty of room/storage, comfortable & clean. Plenty of choice for breakfast you just need to book the day before. They will leave a slip in your room to complete. There is a restaurant & supermarket, 10 minutes walk if you didn't want to drive. The owners were extremely helpful. They suggested downloading app for the bus timetable into Edinburgh. The stop is across the road. You just need to give yourself plenty of time if you need to be somewhere, as it stops at nearly every stop. Took about 15, 20mins because of this. Parking is available on the premises. Very happy with our stay

It was on a very busy road so I could here the traffic at night but then it is the main road into Edinburgh which is what you need if you are sightseeing.
