Leonardo Edinburgh Murrayfield

Perfectly clean throughout the hotel, staff always friendly and welcoming. Food at breakfast was delicious, staff went above and beyond to help out where possible. Very pleasant stay. Swimming pool was great, all facilities very clean too. We were very happy to discover that the bus stop (around the corner; three minute walk) takes you into Edinburgh via the zoo, and along Princes Street, in just 25 minutes, and only costs £1.80 per adult and 90p per child regardless of where you go. The same bus (26 Lothian) comes back asking the same route, and stops opposite the hotel. Really easy to access everywhere.

The corridors on bedroom level were constantly full of cleaning equipment and piles of bedding and towels etc, all cleaning cupboards left open. Doesn't affect the start, but not the same level of class as downstairs has. The rooms are also really noisy, we could hear everything all night long, didn't sleep very well at all due to shouting and banging all night long, definitely worse than anywhere else I've stayed in a long time.

We stayed here last and decided to come back for a longer stay. 7 days, December 12 to 19th. Firstly we had a ground floor room, not far from pool, so that was very good. In between Swimming and exploring Edinburgh we ventured out a bit more this time. We went to see the giant horses at the Kelpies, 40 mins away in car, fantastic! 15 mins away is Queensferry, beutiful views, 3 bridges and a good selection of pubs, cafes etc. We also went to Cramond Beach, again 15 mins away and well worth a visit. As you can see one of the main reasons we come here is the location. Also bus stop outside hotel takes you to Edinburgh although we used taxis a bit, after all, we were on holiday!

If you ordered food to your room, there is a £6 charge, far to much. Breakfast is £12.50 each if you book the day before, again to much. The menu in the bar is OK and the service is good. We ordered Chinese a couple of times and had it delivered to the hotel, the hotel is fine with that. Take some food with you to save on costs, no fridges in rooms but cold enough in Winter on window ledge for yogurts, drinks etc.

The hotel and room was very clean. the Staff friendly and welcoming. It was never part of the plan to eat in the hotel but we did on the Friday and then paid for breakfast on the Saturday. Enjoyed all the food we ate. enough selection for breakfast and was being topped up constantly. Helped fuel us for the day ahead. We travelled there in a taxi and bus. Taxi from Waverley cost £22-25 and the bus £2 although we ended up with a day pass which I think was £5 so we could come and go as we pleased for the Tattoo, the bus stop is only round the corner and you're back in the main part of the city in half hour. Regular and running late (At least during August anyway)

Will be back again, definitely my choice of Hotel for visiting Edinburgh, public transport is just minutes away and well serviced, both to Edinburgh city centre and Airport, both around 20/30min. Hotel is just few bus stops to local Zoo & Murrayfield rugby stadium also. Overall its a very central location. The hotel itself was also good, friendly helpful staff, value for money, clean, great self service breakfasts with lots to choose from, nice swimming pool, gym & jacuzzi. There isn't anything I didnt like about hotel or location...looking to next visit.

There isn't anything to mention here other than bar closed a bit earlier that we are used to at home but it wasn't an issue

It was a bit further out than we thought , but the buses were basically right at the door , The breakfast was fab, The staff were kind friendly and helpful , The manager of the restaurant I'm sure was lovely , we recognised him from a previous hotel and spoke away to him we were there for my husband's birthday so he gave us complimentary drinks I do hope this gets pasted to the Leonardo , and esp to this particular member of there team

Don't think there was anything I didn't like that the bath/shower had a shower curtain but nothing I would complain about just not my preference

Really comfortable room with huge bed and great views from our first floor window- everything in the room you could want, including a safe, iron, ironing board, tea & coffee, tv, etc Nice big bathroom. The staff were all lovely and really friendly and helpful. Nice looking bar (though we did not use it). Great leisure facilities with big warm pool - excellent. Although out of town, there’s a local 26 bus outside that takes you right to the city centre in about 20mins.

Slight niggles: the heating in the room is not adjustable. And our room “keys” kept getting wiped even though we kept them away from our phones… but staff easily re-instated them.

Very clean in all areas , staff very friendly and helpful , nice buffet breakfast - replenished when needed good choice hot food and other item could be made to order if wanted. Comfy bed / pillows Plenty buses into city minutes from hotel .

Paintwork a bit shabby in places and battered ( to be expected really in a hotel with suitcases getting dragged around olace!) Pool was freezing when we were there - apparently boiler broken , but not warned if this prior to going in . Are near airport so can hear rumble of planes overhead at night if window open , but not that disturbing .

Staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.

The location was not ideal. It was further from the city center than I would have liked, but our first hotel cancelled on us and this was recommended as being 'close' to the other. It wasn't. That's not the hotel's fault, though. There is a bus stop close by. Food choices are limited to the in hotel restaurant or delivery as there is nothing else close by. Also, our room was on the third floor, which involved taking the elevator (very tiny) to the second floor, then going up some stairs to the third. This was really only a problem when we had to drag all our suitcases up and down the stairs.

Main Bed was very comfortable. Easy to get the bus into the city for about 2 euro pp each way, but very little around without a bit of a walk. Leisure center pool was a big hit with the kids. Staff was friendly, held our baggage before and after checkout.

The room was pretty rough as far as furniture stability, wall molding loose and general wear and tear and was in great need of a simple update, But it was clean. The sheets on the bunk beds were folded and laid on the top so they would just slide right off if slept on - I spread out and tucked in. The bunk bed mattresses were very thin - ok for littler, lighter kids but wouldn't sleep an adult. Room safe did not work, didn't really need it and notified staff on check out. Breakfast buffet was ok and included with our room - wouldn't recommend paying the full price for it. There is a little cafe about half mile away that has inexpensive and good food options.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and huge bed in standard room was really comfy. Good selection of channels on large tv and decent breakfast for £12.50 if you pre book.

Room is a bit dated and would benefit from a refurb- to eliminate scuffs on walls and furniture. Carpets are also faded and marked in places. Hotel name suggests it’s close to Murrayfield when it would take a good hour to walk - the last part being a steepish slope. Fortunately it’s close to a bus stop and the number 26 takes you to the stadium/ station in about 20 minutes.
