Greenbank Hotel

The hotel it's self was excellent, clean, comfortable with good facilities and well kept. The staff were professional and courteous, the hospitality staff in particular were very amicable and profecient. The food in the restaurant and pub was good quality, well prepared and cooked.

Whilst there were toiletries adjacent to the wash basin and in the shower unit there was nothing in the vicinity of the bath, and as those available where secured in place it made it difficult to use the bath unless you had taken personal toiletries. Whilst as mentioned the food was very good the options available was a little limited.

Location is excellent on the harbour. 10 minutes walk into town but beware it is a very steep hill to get in and seems steeper coming back during a heatwave. Room 127 is one of the harbour view rooms which has the most fantastic panoramic view of the busy harbour. If you can afford it it is well worth it. Bar and restaurant both very nice and there is a pub attached below the hotel right on the water. It was extremely hot during our stay it has to be said and the restaurant was unbearably hot. Some fans or something were definitely needed.

Signage from garage which we had paid extra for in order to guarantee a parking space into hotel was bad - we circumnavigated hotel with cases etc up and down stairs and along many corridors before locating reception only to find in reality it was just a short walk away.

Staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming throughout our stay, the hotel is 100% dementia friendly and supportive to the needs of guests with dementia. Even down to offering a small plate of food in the bar. In fact this was the only meal she fully ate all weekend, purely because the size of meal was not overwhelming. Thank you for this

My only comment and is not negative was how housekeeping placed clean fresh bedding and towels on the floor outside rooms. The carpets looked well trodden [naturally] and the thought my bedding and towels had been on the floor prior to being made up in my room was not ideal.

We had a lovely night at the Green bank hotel. Every member of staff we met were so friendly and welcoming. The receptionist on shift (unfortunately I didn't get her name) was very helpful and friendly. We had our dog with us and didn't realise we hasn't booked a dog friendly room. The receptionist sorted this out for us straight away and changed rooms with no hassle at all. She also found some poo bags for our dog as we had run out!  Another member of staff who we could not praise highly enough was Ryan the waiter. He was incredibly friendly and helpful.  We will definatly be coming back again Thankyou very much  Adrienne Evely 

Slow internet connection

Brilliant hotel and great location. All of the Staff were super friendly, very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The food and service in the upstairs restaurant and bar was superb complete with amazing views across the harbour. Room was spotless and nice little extras included in the room. Breakfast was delicious and was included in my stay and was a wide selection of items to choose from. The food and drink at the restaurant certainly puts other hotels behind the mark! Would 100% book again and highly recommend!

The location was superb! The staff was friendly! The breakfast was delicious! The rooms were well equipped, modern and clean. The 'doggy welcome pack' was a wonderful surprise!

Bar area was only 'dog friendly' for breakfast (?) but we would have loved to spend more time having evening drinks and nibbles there. The other times throughout the day, we could only get service in very small lounge area, with one (Captain's) table and a few chairs. The temperature and atmosphere there was cold and service was a little slow, due to distance from the main dining/social areas.

The hotel we enjoyed and the staff were very good. In particular the duty manager Jane who oversaw our small room issue very efficiently. The views over the harbor from the bar and restaurant are exceptional. We ate at the hotel restaurant to which the food was very good.

The only issue of this hotel is the description of the some of the rooms being a land view. Its actually on a main street with houses and no view. If you want the harbor view you will need to book harbor views. Still worth a visit though.

Fabulous view, lovely location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Very tasty meal at the working boat pub and a delicious breakfast in the morning with more stunning views of the harbour. Great facilities, comfortable bed with good quality bed linen and towels and a nice selection of quality refreshments in the room. The homemade shortbread was scrummy. Our puppy was very well catered for. Would happily recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Room a little small with a dog in tow but the harbour view more than made up for it so not really a complaint as we were very comfortable and well looked after.

Walking distance to town to site see etc. The rooms were a little sanctuary as I didn’t feel the need to put on the tv just sit in the chairs and look out of the bay window to a lovely view. A good selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the room with short bread biscuits was a welcome addition. The pub downstairs was quaint and the food was great. The breakfast menu was varied which included local ingredients. Prepared to order, quality and thankfully not a buffet style. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and had an amazing view. Staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

When in the room you can hear absolutely everything in the corridor. People talking, walking, shutting doors. Outside there was deliveries really early and car alarms going off outside the door. Nothing wrong the hotel staff but I do think other residents should be encouraged to respect other residents during their stay.
