Seaview Inn

Fantastic views over the harbour. Friendly staff and very attentive landlord. The pub was buzzing with a great ambience. We also listened into a pub quiz when we stayed. The food was very good, typical pub fare and good value for money. A very satisfying breakfast to fuel us for our coastal walk.

Not a negative for us, but be aware that you can hear the pub noise from the bedroom. It is a very quiet location after 11pm when the pub closes.

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The room had a fantastic view, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small but clean. The only thing I would say is if you plan on having an early night you may struggle, as it is a pub and it will be naturally noisy until closing time. A bonus was that breakfast was included, when I booked through Booking.com I completely missed this information so it was a nice surprise as it was delicious!

Lovely comfortable room above the pub with views across to the harbour. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Mike is a great host and very friendly with advice for travel etc.

The only thing if any was the parking as the students had returned but not really an issue.

Lovely view from our room, which had comfortable beds, tea coffee & shortbread, hairdryer. The breakfast was excellent. The pub was busy with a quiz on the night we stayed. We joined in and had a lovely evening. The staff and locals are very friendly. Everything was quiet after closing time, so we had a good night's sleep. After checking out we left the car parked outside for a wander up to the castle. We got a phone call to say we'd left a T shirt in the room. The lady had noticed us loading our car, so knew which was ours and she's left it in a bag on the bonnet.

Not much to fault. The room was on the small side, but perfectly fine for us. We were lucky (very lucky as it turned out) to get a parking spot right outside, but spaces were very limited.

The staff were friendly and personable, from bar to room and made sure I had such things as taxi numbers, directions. The facilities were very good, a hair drier in my room, working TV, clean and very comfortable bed. Slept really well. Plenty of storage and choice of overhead or lamp. The view was very beautiful looking over rooftops down onto the river.

The decore was a little dated but it didn't detract from experience, please keep in mind this is a 100 year old building, the rooms are small and anything too modern would clash with the ambiance.

We loved the traditional feel of the Seaview Inn and to know that this has served for many many years, alongside the view of the harbour! We were not affected from staying above the pub. There was no extreme noise even when guests were leaving at the end of the night. The location is brilliant for anyone wanting to visit town and be close to amenities with parking a bonus. Michael and his team were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The room was more than spacious, with a comfy bed and great shower pressure which everyone loves when they go away. Thank you for our great breakfasts and the dogs thank you for theirs!

Made to feel very welcome by owner and staff lovely room and superb food

The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We were attending a family party and our late return was no problem for the owner who showed us how to get back into the hotel in the wee small hours. The excellent cooked breakfast was freshly prepared and tailored to our requirements. We were not able to have an evening meal in the restaurant, but we noted the extensive menu.

Parking is on the street. We were lucky to manage to get a parking spot within 100 yards of hotel.

Brilliant old school pub very comfortable lovely view of the bay. Excellent welcome from the owners and menu in the pub was so tempting we stayed for dinner rather than going out. Huge drinks selection including gins, rums and beer, nice lively atmosphere. On street parking. Great shower and brilliant breakfast for a start to the next day. You won’t regret visiting.
